Jó 6
1 Mas Jó respondeu, dizendo:
Then Job answered,
2 Oh se pesassem justamente minha aflição, e meu tormento juntamente fosse posto em uma balança!
"Oh that my anguish were weighed, and all my calamity laid in the balances.
3 Pois na verdade seria mais pesada que a areia dos mares; por isso minhas palavras têm sido impulsivas.
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas, therefore have my words been rash.
4 Porque as flechas do Todo-Poderoso estão em mim, cujo veneno meu espírito bebe; e temores de Deus me atacam.
For the arrows of Shaddai are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.
5 Por acaso o asno selvagem zurra junto à erva, ou o boi berra junto a seu pasto?
Does the wild donkey bray when he has grass? Or does the ox low over his fodder?
6 Por acaso se come o insípido sem sal? Ou há gosto na clara do ovo?
Can that which has no flavor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
7 Minha alma se recusa tocar [essas coisas], que são para mim como comida detestável.
My soul refuses to touch them. They are as loathsome food to me.
8 Ah se meu pedido fosse realizado, e se Deus [me] desse o que espero!
"Oh that I might have my request, that God would grant the thing that I long for,
9 Que Deus me destruísse; ele soltasse sua mão, e acabasse comigo!
even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off.
10 Isto ainda seria meu consolo, um alívio em meio ao tormento que não [me] poupa; pois eu não tenho escondido as palavras do Santo.
Be it still my consolation, yes, let me exult in pain that doesn't spare, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
11 Qual é minha força para que eu espere? E qual meu fim, para que eu prolongue minha vida?
What is my strength, that I should wait? What is my end, that I should be patient?
12 É, por acaso, a minha força a força de pedras? Minha carne é de bronze?
Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of bronze?
13 Tenho eu como ajudar a mim mesmo, se todo auxílio me foi tirado?
Isn't it that I have no help in me, That wisdom is driven quite from me?
14 Ao aflito, seus amigos deviam ser misericordiosos, mesmo se ele tivesse abandonado o temor ao Todo-Poderoso.
"To the despairing, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of Shaddai.
15 Meus irmãos foram traiçoeiros comigo, como ribeiro, como correntes de águas que transbordam,
My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;
16 Que estão escurecidas pelo gelo, e nelas se esconde a neve;
Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.
17 Que no tempo do calor se secam e, ao se aquecerem, desaparecem de seu lugar;
In the dry season, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
18 Os cursos de seus caminhos se desviam; vão se minguando, e perecem.
The caravans that travel beside them turn aside. They go up into the waste, and perish.
19 As caravanas de Temã as veem; os viajantes de Sabá esperam por elas.
The caravans of Tema looked. The companies of Sheba waited for them.
20 Foram envergonhados por aquilo em que confiavam; e ao chegarem ali, ficaram desapontados.
They were distressed because they were confident. They came there, and were confounded.
21 Agora, vós vos tornastes semelhantes a elas; pois vistes o terror, e temestes.
For now you are nothing. You see a terror, and are afraid.
22 Por acaso eu disse: Trazei-me [algo]? Ou: Dai presente a mim de vossa riqueza?
Did I say, 'Give to me?' or, 'Offer a present for me from your substance?'
23 Ou: Livrai-me da mão do opressor? Ou: Resgatai-me das mãos dos violentos?
or, 'Deliver me from the adversary's hand?' or, 'Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?'
24 Ensinai-me, e eu [me] calarei; e fazei-me entender em que errei.
"Teach me, and I will hold my peace. Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
25 Como são fortes as palavras de boa razão! Mas o que vossa repreensão reprova?
How forcible are words of uprightness. But your reproof, what does it reprove?
26 Pretendeis repreender palavras, sendo que os argumentos do desesperado são como o vento?
Do you intend to reprove words, seeing that the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?
27 De fato vós lançaríeis [sortes] sobre o órfão, e venderíeis vosso amigo.
Yes, you would even cast lots for the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.
28 Agora, pois, disponde-vos a olhar para mim; e [vede] se eu minto diante de vós.
Now therefore be pleased to look at me, for surely I shall not lie to your face.
29 Mudai de opinião, pois, e não haja perversidade; mudai de opinião, pois minha justiça continua.
Please return. Let there be no injustice. Yes, return again. My cause is righteous.
30 Há perversidade em minha língua? Não poderia meu paladar discernir as coisas más?
Is there injustice on my tongue? Can't my taste discern mischievous things?
