Isaías 41

1 Calai-vos perante mim, ó litorais; e os povos renovem as forças; aproximem-se, [e] então falem; juntamente nos aproximemos ao juízo.

Let the islands keep silence before me, and the nations take new strength: let them come near, and then speak, let us come near to judgment together.

2 Quem o chamou desde o oriente, [e com] justiça o chamou ao seu pé? Ele [lhe] deu as nações perante sua face, e o fez dominar sobre reis, [e] os entregou à sua espada como o pó, como a palha fina levada por seu arco.

Who hath raised up the just one from the east, hath called him to follow him? he shall give the nations in his sight, and he shall rule over kings: he shall give them as the dust to his sword, as stubble driven by the wind, to his bow.

3 Ele os persegue, [e] passa em segurança; por um caminho [onde] com seus pés nunca tinha ido.

He shall pursue them, he shall pass in peace, no path shall appear after his feet.

4 Quem operou e fez [isto], chamando as gerações desde o princípio? Eu, o SENHOR, do princípio aos últimos, eu mesmo.

Who hath wrought and done these things, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, I am the first and the last.

5 Os litorais viram, e tremeram; os confins da terra tremeram; eles se aproximaram, e chegaram.

The islands saw it, and feared, the ends of the earth were astonished, they drew near, and came.

6 Cada um ajudou ao outro, e a seu companheiro disse: Sê forte.

Every one shall help his neighbour, and shall say to his brother: Be of good courage.

7 E o artífice encorajou ao ourives, o que alisa com o martelo ao que bate na bigorna, dizendo da soldagem: Boa é. Então com pregos o firmou, para que não se mova.

The coppersmith striking with the hammer encouraged him that forged at that time, saying: It is ready for soldering: and he strengthened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

8 Porém tu, ó Israel, servo meu; tu, Jacó, a quem escolhi, semente de Abraão, meu amigo;

But thou Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend:

9 Tu, a quem tomei desde os confins da terra, e te chamei desde seus mais extremos, e te disse: Tu és meu servo; a ti escolhi, e não te rejeitei.

In whom I have taken thee from the ends of the earth, and from the remote parts thereof have called thee, and said to thee: Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and have not cast thee away.

10 Não temas, porque eu estou contigo; não te assombres, porque eu sou teu Deus. Eu te fortaleço, te ajudo, e te sustento com a minha mão direita de justiça.

Fear not, for I am with thee: turn not aside, for I am thy God: I have strengthened thee, and have helped thee, and the right hand of my just one hath upheld thee.

11 Eis que serão envergonhados e humilhados todos os que se indignaram contra ti; eles se tornarão como o nada; e os que brigarem contigo perecerão.

Behold all that fight against thee shall be confounded and ashamed, they shall be as nothing, and the men shall perish that strive against thee.

12 [Ainda que] os procures, tu não os acharás; os que lutarem contra ti se tornarão como o nada; e os que guerrearem contra ti, como coisa nenhuma.

Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find the men that resist thee: they shall be as nothing: and as a thing consumed the men that war against thee.

13 Porque eu, o SENHOR teu Deus, te seguro pela tua mão direita, [e] te digo: Não temas; eu te ajudo.

For I am the Lord thy God, who take thee by the hand, and say to thee: Fear not, I have helped thee.

14 Não temas, ó verme de Jacó, povinho de Israel; eu te ajudo, diz o SENHOR e teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel.

Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, you that are dead of Israel: I have helped thee, saith the Lord: and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel.

15 Eis que eu te pus como debulhador afiado, novo, que tem dentes pontiagudos. Aos montes debulharás, e moerás; e aos morros tornarás como a palhas.

I have made thee as a new thrashing wain, with teeth like a saw: thou shall thrash the mountains, and break them in pieces: and shalt make the hills as chaff.

16 Tu os padejarás, e o vento os levará; e o redemoinho os espalhará; porém tu te alegrarás no SENHOR, [e] te orgulharás no Santo de Israel.

Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, in the Holy One of Israel thou shalt be joyful.

17 Os pobres e necessitados buscam águas, mas nada [acham]; sua língua se seca de sede. Eu, o SENHOR, os ouvirei; eu, o Deus de Israel, não os desampararei.

The needy and the poor seek for waters, and there are none: their tongue hath been dry with thirst. I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

18 Abrirei rios em lugares altos, e fontes no meio dos vales; tornarei o deserto em tanques de águas, e a terra seca em mananciais de águas.

I will open rivers in the high bills, and fountains in the midst of the plains: I will turn the desert into pools of waters, and the impassable land into streams of waters.

19 Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a acácia, a murta, e a oliveira; juntamente porei na terra vazia a faia, o olmeiro e o cipreste;

I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, and the thorn, and the myrtle, and the olive tree: I will set in the desert the fir tree, the elm, and the box tree together:

20 Para que vejam, saibam, reflitam, e juntamente entendam que a mão do SENHOR fez isto; e o Santo de Israel isto criou.

That they may see and know, and consider, and understand together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

21 Apresentai vossa demanda!, diz o SENHOR. Trazei vossos argumentos!, diz o Rei de Jacó.

Bring your cause near, saith the Lord: bring hither, if you have any thing to allege, saith the King of Jacob.

22 Tragam e anunciem-nos as coisas que irão acontecer; anunciai quais foram as coisas passadas, para que possamos dar atenção a elas, e saibamos o fim delas; ou dizei-nos as coisas futuras.

Let them come, and tell us all things that are to come: tell us the former things what they were: and we will set our heart upon them, and shall know the latter end of them, and tell us the things that are to come.

23 Anunciai as coisas que ainda virão, para que saibamos que vós sois deuses; ou fazei o bem ou o mal, para que nos assombremos, e juntamente vejamos.

Shew the things that are to come hereafter, and we shall know that ye are gods. Do ye also good or evil, if you can: and let us speak, and see together.

24 Eis que vós sois nada, e vossa obra não tem valor algum; abominação é quem vos escolhe.

Behold, you are of nothing, and your work of that which hath no being: he that hath chosen you is an abomination.

25 Eu suscitei [a um] do norte, que virá oriente, [e] invocará meu nome; e virá sobre os príncipes como [se fossem] lama, e como o oleiro pisa o barro.

I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come from the rising of the sun: he shall call upon my name, and he shall make princes to be as dirt, and as the potter treading clay.

26 Quem anunciou [coisa alguma] desde o princípio, para que o possamos saber, ou desde antes, para que digamos “correto é”? Porém não há quem anuncie [tal coisa] nem quem diga [coisa alguma], nem quem ouça vossas palavras.

Who bath declared from the beginning, that we may know: and from time of old, that we may say: Thou art just. There is none that sheweth, nor that foretelleth, nor that heareth your words.

27 [Eu sou] o primeiro [que digo] a Sião: Eis que ali estão! E a Jerusalém darei um anunciador de boas novas.

The first shall say to Sion: Behold they are here, and to Jerusalem I will give an evangelist.

28 E olhei, porém ninguém havia. Até entre estes nenhum conselheiro havia a quem eu perguntasse, e ele me respondesse algo.

And I saw, and there was no one even among them to consult, or who, when I asked, could answer a word.

29 Eis que todos são falsidade, suas obras são nada. Suas obras de fundição são vento e sem valor algum.

Behold they are all in the wrong, and their works are vain: their idols are wind and vanity.
