Gênesis 2
1 E foram concluídos os céus e a terra, e tudo o que neles há.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 E acabou Deus no dia sétimo sua obra que fez, e repousou o dia sétimo de toda sua obra que havia feito.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 E abençoou Deus ao dia sétimo, e o santificou, porque nele repousou de toda sua obra que havia Deus criado e feito.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 Estas são as origens dos céus e da terra quando foram criados, no dia que o SENHOR Deus fez a terra e os céus,
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Yhwh God made the earth and the heavens,
5 E antes que toda planta do campo existisse na terra, e antes que toda erva do campo nascesse; porque ainda não havia o SENHOR Deus feito chover sobre a terra, nem havia homem para que lavrasse a terra;
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for Yhwh God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 Mas subia da terra um vapor, que regava toda a face da terra.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 Formou, pois, o SENHOR Deus ao homem do pó da terra, e assoprou em seu nariz sopro de vida; e foi o homem em alma vivente.
And Yhwh God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 E havia o SENHOR Deus plantado um jardim em Éden ao oriente, e pôs ali ao homem que havia formado.
And Yhwh God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 E havia o SENHOR Deus feito nascer da terra toda árvore agradável à vista, e boa para comer: também a árvore da vida em meio do jardim, e a árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal.
And out of the ground made Yhwh God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 E saía de Éden um rio para regar o jardim, e dali se repartia em quatro ramificações.
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 O nome de um era Pisom: este é o que cerca toda a terra de Havilá, onde há ouro:
The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 E o ouro daquela terra é bom; há ali também bdélio e pedra ônix.
And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 O nome do segundo rio é Giom; este é o que rodeia toda a terra de Cuxe.
And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Cush.
14 E o nome do terceiro rio é Tigre; este é o que vai diante da Assíria. E o quarto rio é o Eufrates.
And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15 Então o SENHOR Deus tomou o homem, e o pôs no jardim de Éden, para que o lavrasse e o guardasse.
And Yhwh God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 E mandou o SENHOR Deus ao homem, dizendo: De toda árvore do jardim comerás;
And Yhwh God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 Mas da árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal não comerás dela; porque no dia que dela comeres, morrerás.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18 E disse o SENHOR Deus: Não é bom que o homem esteja só; farei para ele ajuda idônea para ele.
And Yhwh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19 Formou, pois, o SENHOR Deus da terra todo animal do campo, e toda ave dos céus, e trouxe-os a Adão, para que visse como lhes havia de chamar; e tudo o que Adão chamou aos animais viventes, esse é seu nome.
And out of the ground Yhwh God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 E pôs Adão nomes a todo animal e ave dos céus e a todo animal do campo: mas para Adão não achou ajuda que estivesse idônea para ele.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 E o SENHOR Deus fez cair sonho sobre Adão, e ele adormeceu: então tomou uma de suas costelas, e fechou a carne em seu lugar;
And Yhwh God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 E da costela que o SENHOR Deus tomou do homem, fez uma mulher, e trouxe-a ao homem.
And the rib, which Yhwh God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 E disse Adão: Esta é agora osso de meus ossos, e carne de minha carne: esta será chamada Mulher, porque do homem foi tomada.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Portanto, deixará o homem a seu pai e a sua mãe, e se achegará à sua mulher, e serão uma só carne.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 E estavam ambos nus, Adão e sua mulher, e não se envergonhavam.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
