2 Pedro 1
1 Simão Pedro, servo e apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, aos que obtiveram conosco a igualmente preciosa fé pela justiça de nosso Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo;
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Graça e paz vos seja multiplicada pelo conhecimento de Deus, e de Jesus nosso Senhor.
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 Como seu divino poder ele tem nos dado tudo o que [pertence] à vida e à devoção divina, por meio do conhecimento daquele que nos chamou à glória e virtude;
According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue:
4 Pelas quais nos são dadas grandíssimas e preciosas promessas, para que por meio delas sejais participantes da natureza divina, tendo escapado da corrupção que há no mundo pelo mau desejo.
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these all of you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 E por isso mesmo, pondo todo o empenho, acrescentai a vossa fé virtude; e à virtude, conhecimento;
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 E ao conhecimento, domínio próprio; e ao domínio próprio, paciência; e à paciência, devoção divina;
And to knowledge wilful restrain; and to wilful restrain patience; and to patience godliness;
7 E à devoção divina, amor fraternal; e ao amor fraternal, amor.
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. (agape)
8 Porque se em vós existirem e abundarem estas coisas, elas não vos deixarão ociosos nem estéreis no conhecimento de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that all of you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Porque aquele em quem não há estas coisas é cego, nada vendo de longe, tendo se esquecido da purificação de seus antigos pecados.
But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see far off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Portanto, irmãos, procurai ainda mais confirmar vosso chamamento e escolha [da parte de Deus]; porque fazendo isso nunca tropeçareis.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if all of you do these things, all of you shall never fall:
11 Porque assim vos será abundantemente fornecida a entrada no reino eterno de nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo. (aiōnios g166)
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
12 Por isso eu não deixarei de sempre vos relembrar destas coisas, ainda que [as] saibais, e estejais firmes na verdade presente.
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though all of you know them, and be established in the present truth.
13 E eu considero justo, enquanto eu estiver neste tabernáculo, de vos despertar com relembranças;
Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
14 Sabendo que breve está a saída do meu meu tabernáculo, conforme também nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo tem revelado a mim.
Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.
15 Mas também procurarei que depois de minha partida vós sejais capazes de ter lembrança destas coisas.
Moreover I will endeavour that all of you may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
16 Porque nós não vos anunciamos o poder e vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seguindo mitos criados pela inteligência humana, mas sim como testemunhas oculares de sua grandiosidade.
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 Porque de Deus Pai ele recebeu honra e glória, tendo sido lhe enviada tal voz de magnífica glória: Este é meu amado Filho, em quem me agrado.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 E nós ouvimos esta voz enviada do Céu, estando nós com ele no santo monte.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 E temos a muito confiável palavra dos profetas; a qual vós fazeis bem ao prestardes atenção, como a uma luz que ilumina em lugar escuro, até que o dia clareie e a estrela da manhã se levante em vossos corações.
We have also a more sure word (logos) of prophecy; unto which all of you do well that all of you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Sabendo primeiramente isto: que nenhuma profecia da Escritura é de interpretação particular.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 Porque a profecia jamais foi produzida pela vontade humana, mas homens falaram da parte de Deus conduzidos pelo Espírito Santo.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
