2 Crônicas 28

1 De vinte anos era Acaz quando começou a reinar, e dezesseis anos reinou em Jerusalém: mas não fez o que era correto aos olhos do SENHOR, como Davi seu pai.

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not do that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, like David his father;

2 Antes andou nos caminhos dos reis de Israel, e ademais fez imagens de fundição aos baalins.

but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baals.

3 Queimou também incenso no vale dos filhos de Hinom, e queimou seus filhos por fogo, conforme as abominações das nações que o SENHOR havia lançado diante dos filhos de Israel.

Moreover he burnt incense in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, and made his sons pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

4 Assim sacrificou e queimou incenso nos altos, e nas colinas, e debaixo de toda árvores espessa.

He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

5 Pelo qual o SENHOR seu Deus o entregou em mãos do rei dos sírios, os quais lhe derrotaram, e tomaram dele uma grande presa, que levaram a Damasco. Foi também entregue em mãos do rei de Israel, o qual o derrotou com grande mortandade.

Therefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Aram; and they struck him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.

6 Porque Peca, filho de Remalias matou em Judá em um dia cento e vinte mil, todos eles homens valentes; porquanto haviam deixado ao SENHOR o Deus de seus pais.

For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.

7 Assim Zicri, homem poderoso de Efraim, matou a Maaseias filho do rei, e a Azricão seu mordomo, e a Elcana, segundo depois do rei.

Zikri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.

8 Tomaram também cativos os filhos de Israel de seus irmãos duzentos mil, mulheres, meninos, e meninas, a mais de haver saqueado deles um grande despojo, o qual trouxeram a Samaria.

The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

9 Havia então ali um profeta do SENHOR, que se chamava Obede, o qual saiu diante do exército quando entrava em Samaria, e disse-lhes: Eis que o SENHOR o Deus de vossos pais, pela ira contra Judá, os entregou em vossas mãos; e vós os

But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, "Look, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.

10 E agora haveis determinado sujeitar a vós a Judá e a Jerusalém por servos e servas: mas não haveis vós pecado contra o SENHOR vosso Deus?

Now you purpose to keep under the people of Judah and Jerusalem for bondservants and bondmaids for yourselves. Aren't there even with you trespasses of your own against the LORD your God?

11 Ouvi-me, pois, agora, e voltai a enviar os cativos que haveis tomado de vossos irmãos: porque o SENHOR está irado contra vós.

Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that you have taken captive from your brothers; for the fierce wrath of the LORD is on you."

12 Levantaram-se então alguns homens dos principais dos filhos de Efraim, Azarias filho de Joanã, e Berequias filho de Mesilemote, e Jeizquias filho de Salum, e Amasa filho de Hadlai, contra os que vinham da guerra.

Then some of the heads of the people of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,

13 E disseram-lhes: Não metais aqui os cativos; porque o pecado contra o SENHOR será sobre nós. Vós tratais de acrescentar sobre nossos pecados e sobre nossas culpas, sendo suficientemente grande nosso delito, e a ira do furor sobre Israel.

and said to them, "You shall not bring in the captives here: for you purpose that which will bring on us a trespass against the LORD, to add to our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel."

14 Então o exército deixou os cativos e a presa diante dos príncipes e de toda a multidão.

So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the leaders and all the assembly.

15 E levantaram-se os homens nomeados, e tomaram os cativos, e vestiram do despojo aos que deles estavam nus; vestiram-nos e calçaram-nos, e deram-lhes de comer e de beber, e ungiram-nos, e conduziram em asnos a todos os fracos, e levaram-nos até Jericó, cidade das palmeiras, próxima de seus irmãos; e eles voltaram a Samaria.

The men who have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, and gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

16 Naquele tempo enviou a pedir o rei Acaz aos reis de Assíria que lhe ajudassem:

At that time king Ahaz sent to the king of Assyria to help him.

17 Porque a mais disto, os edomitas haviam vindo e ferido aos de Judá, e haviam levado cativos.

For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.

18 Assim os filisteus haviam invadido as cidades da planície, e ao sul de Judá, e haviam tomado a Bete-Semes, a Aijalom, Gederote, e Socó com suas aldeias, Timna também com suas aldeias, e Ginzo com suas aldeias; e habitavam nelas.

The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the Negev of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with its towns, and Timnah with its towns, Gimzo also and its towns: and they lived there.

19 Porque o SENHOR havia humilhado a Judá por causa de Acaz rei de Israel: porquanto ele havia desnudado a Judá, e rebelado-se gravemente contra o SENHOR.

For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had dealt wantonly in Judah, and trespassed severely against the LORD.

20 E veio contra ele Tiglate-Pileser, rei dos assírios: pois o oprimiu, e não o fortificou.

Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria came to him, and distressed him, but did not strengthen him.

21 Ainda que Acaz tenha despojado a casa do SENHOR, e a casa real, e as dos príncipes, para dar ao rei dos assírios, contudo isso ele não lhe ajudou.

For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria: but it did not help him.

22 Ademais o rei Acaz no tempo que aquele lhe afligia-se, acrescentou transgressão contra o SENHOR;

In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against the LORD, this same king Ahaz.

23 Porque sacrificou aos deuses de Damasco que lhe haviam ferido, e disse: Pois que os deuses dos reis da Síria lhes ajudam, eu também sacrificarei a eles para que me ajudem; bem que foram estes sua ruína, e a de todo Israel.

For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, which struck him; and he said, "Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, so I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me." But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.

24 A mais disso recolheu Acaz os vasos da casa de Deus, e quebrou-os, e fechou as portas da casa do SENHOR, e fez-se altares em Jerusalém em todos os cantos.

Ahaz gathered together the vessels of God's house, and cut in pieces the vessels of God's house, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

25 Fez também altos em todas as cidades de Judá, para queimar incenso aos deuses alheios, provocando assim a ira ao SENHOR o Deus de seus pais.

In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD, the God of his fathers.

26 Os demais de seus feitos, e todos seus caminhos, primeiros e últimos, eis que estão escrito no livro dos reis de Judá e de Israel.

Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, look, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

27 E descansou Acaz com seus pais, e sepultaram-no na cidade de Jerusalém: mas não lhe meteram nos sepulcros dos reis de Israel; e reinou em seu lugar Ezequias seu filho.

Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
