Salmos 48

1 Grande é o Senhor e mui digno de louvor, na cidade do nosso Deus, no seu monte santo.

A Song [and] Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, [in] the mountain of his holiness.

2 Formoso de sítio, e alegria de toda a terra é o monte de Sião sobre os lados do norte, a cidade do grande Rei.

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, [is] mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 Deus é conhecido nos seus palácios por um alto refúgio.

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 Porque eis que os reis se ajuntaram: eles passaram juntos.

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5 Viram-no, e ficaram maravilhados; ficaram assombrados e se apressaram em fugir.

They saw [it, and] so they marvelled; they were troubled, [and] hasted away.

6 Tremor ali os tomou, e dores como de mulher de parto.

Fear took hold upon them there, [and] pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 Tu quebras as naus de Tarsis com um vento oriental.

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 Como o ouvimos, assim o vimos na cidade do Senhor dos exércitos, na cidade do nosso Deus. Deus a confirmará para sempre (Selah)

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)

9 Lembramo-nos, ó Deus, da tua benignidade no meio do teu templo.

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 Segundo é o teu nome, ó Deus, assim é o teu louvor, até aos fins da terra: a tua mão direita está cheia de justiça.

According to thy name, O God, so [is] thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Alegre-se o monte de Sião; alegrem-se as filhas de Judá por causa dos teus juízos.

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 Rodeai Sião, e cercai-a, contai as suas torres.

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13 Marcai bem os seus antemuros, considerai os seus palácios, para que o conteis à geração seguinte.

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell [it] to the generation following.

14 Porque este Deus é o nosso Deus para sempre, ele será nosso guia até à morte.

For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death.
