Salmos 10
1 Porque estás ao longe, Senhor? Porque te escondes nos tempos de angústia?
Why, Yahweh, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 Os ímpios na sua arrogância perseguem furiosamente o miserável; sejam apanhados nas ciladas que maquinaram.
Because of their arrogance, wicked people chase the oppressed; but please let the wicked be trapped by their own schemes that they have devised.
3 Porque o ímpio glória-se do desejo da sua alma; bendiz ao avarento, e blasfema do Senhor.
For the wicked person boasts of his deepest desires; he blesses the greedy and insults Yahweh.
4 Pela altivez do seu rosto o ímpio não busca a Deus: todas as suas cogitações são que não há Deus
The wicked man has a raised face; he does not seek God. He never thinks about God because he does not care at all about him.
5 Os seus caminhos atormentam sempre: os teus juízos estão longe da vista dele em grande altura, e despreza aos seus inimigos.
He is secure at all times, but your righteous decrees are too high for him; he snorts at all his enemies.
6 Diz em seu coração: Não serei comovido, porque nunca me verei na adversidade.
He says in his heart,” I will never fail; throughout all generations I will not meet adversity.”
7 A sua boca está cheia de imprecações, de enganos e de astúcia; debaixo da sua língua há moléstia e maldade.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceptive, harmful words; his tongue injures and destroys.
8 Põe-se nas emboscadas das aldeias; nos lugares ocultos mata ao inocente; os seus olhos estão ocultamente fitos contra o pobre.
He waits in ambush near the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes look for some helpless victim.
9 Arma ciladas no esconderijo, como o leão no seu covil; arma ciladas para roubar ao miserável; rouba ao miserável, trazendo-o na sua rede.
He lurks in secret like a lion in the thicket; he lies in wait to catch the oppressed. He catches the oppressed when he pulls in his net.
10 Encolhe-se, abaixa-se, para que os pobres caiam em suas fortes garras.
His victims are crushed and beaten down; they fall into his strong nets.
11 Diz em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se, cobriu o seu rosto, e nunca o verá.
He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; he covers his face; he will not bother to look.”
12 Levanta-te, Senhor: oh! Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos miseráveis.
Arise, Yahweh! Lift up your hand, God! Do not forget the oppressed.
13 Porque blasfema o ímpio de Deus? dizendo no seu coração: Tu não o esquadrinharás?
Why does the wicked man reject God and say in his heart, “You will not hold me accountable”?
14 Tu o viste, porque atentas para o trabalho e enfado, para o entregar em tuas mãos; a ti o pobre se encomenda, tu és o auxílio do órfão.
You have taken notice, for you always see the one who inflicts the misery and sorrow. The helpless entrusts himself to you; you rescue the fatherless.
15 Quebra o braço do ímpio e malvado; busca a sua impiedade, até que nenhuma encontres.
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man. Make him account for his evil deeds, which he thought you would not discover.
16 O Senhor é Rei eterno; da sua terra perecerão os gentios.
Yahweh is King forever and ever; the nations are driven out of his land.
17 Senhor, tu ouviste os desejos dos mansos; confortarás os seus corações; os teus ouvidos estarão abertos para eles;
Yahweh, you have heard the needs of the oppressed; you strengthen their heart, you listen to their prayer;
18 Para fazer justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, afim de que o homem da terra não prosiga mais em usar da violência.
You defend the fatherless and the oppressed so that no man on the earth will cause terror again.
