Provérbios 10
1 Provérbios de Salomão. O filho sábio alegra a seu pai, mas o filho louco é a tristeza de sua mãe.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.
2 Os tesouros da impiedade de nada aproveitam; porém a justiça livra da morte.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 O Senhor não deixa ter fome a alma do justo, mas a fazenda dos ímpios rechaça.
The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 O que trabalha com mão enganosa empobrece, mas a mão dos diligentes enriquece.
He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 O que ajunta no verão é filho entendido, mas o que dorme na sega é filho que faz envergonhar.
He that gathereth in summer [is] a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest [is] a son that causeth shame.
6 Bençãos há sobre a cabeça do justo, mas a violência cobre a boca dos ímpios.
Blessings [are] upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 A memória do justo é abençoada, mas o nome dos ímpios apodrecerá.
The memory of the just [is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 O sábio de coração aceita os mandamentos, mas o louco de lábios será transtornado.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 Quem anda em sinceridade, anda seguro; mas o que perverte os seus caminhos será conhecido.
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 O que acena com os olhos dá dores, e o tolo de lábios será transtornado.
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 A boca do justo é fonte de vida, mas a boca dos ímpios cobre a violência.
The mouth of a righteous [man is] a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 O ódio excita contendas, mas o amor cobre todas as transgressões.
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 Nos lábios do entendido se acha a sabedoria, mas a vara é para as costas do falto de entendimento.
In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod [is] for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Os sábios escondem a sabedoria; mas a boca do tolo está perto da ruína.
Wise [men] lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish [is] near destruction.
15 A fazenda do rico é a cidade da sua fortaleza: a pobreza dos pobres é a sua ruína.
The rich man’s wealth [is] his strong city: the destruction of the poor [is] their poverty.
16 A obra do justo conduz à vida, as novidades do ímpio ao pecado.
The labour of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 O caminho para a vida é daquele que guarda a correção, mas o que deixa a repreensão faz errar.
He [is in] the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 O que encobre o ódio tem lábios falsos, e o que produz má fama é um insensato.
He that hideth hatred [with] lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, [is] a fool.
19 Na multidão de palavras não há falta de transgressão, mas o que modera os seus lábios é prudente.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips [is] wise.
20 Prata escolhida é a língua do justo: o coração dos ímpios é de nenhum preço.
The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth.
21 Os lábios do justo apascentam a muitos, mas os tolos, por falta de entendimento, morrem.
The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 A benção do Senhor é a que enriquece; e não lhe acrescenta dores.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 Como brincadeira é para o tolo fazer abominação, mas sabedoria para o homem entendido.
[It is] as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 O temor do ímpio virá sobre ele, mas o desejo dos justos Deus lhe cumprirá.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 Como passa a tempestade, assim o ímpio mais não é; mas o justo tem perpétuo fundamento.
As the whirlwind passeth, so [is] the wicked no [more: ] but the righteous [is] an everlasting foundation.
26 Como vinagre para os dentes, como o fumo para os olhos, assim é o preguiçoso para aqueles que o mandam.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so [is] the sluggard to them that send him.
27 O temor do Senhor aumenta os dias, mas os anos dos ímpios serão abreviados.
The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 A esperança dos justos é alegria, mas a expectação dos ímpios perecerá.
The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 O caminho do Senhor é fortaleza para os retos, mas ruína será para os que obram iniquidade.
The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.
30 O justo nunca jamais será abalado, mas os ímpios não habitarão a terra.
The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 A boca do justo em abundância produz sabedoria, mas a língua da perversidade será desarreigada.
The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 Os beiços do justo sabem o que agrada, mas a boca dos ímpios anda cheia de perversidades.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.
