Números 32
1 E os filhos de Ruben e os filhos de Gad tinham muito gado em grande multidão; e viram a terra de Jaezer, e a terra de Gilead, e eis que o lugar era lugar de gado.
And the children of Ruben and the children of Gad had a multitude of cattle, very great; and they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Galaad; and the place was a place for cattle:
2 Vieram pois os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Ruben, e falaram a Moisés e a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e aos maiorais da congregação, dizendo:
and the children of Ruben and the children of Gad came, and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 Ataroth, e Dibon, e Jaezer, e Nimra, e Hesbon, e Eleal, e Schebam, e Nebo, e Behon;
Ataroth, and Daebon, and Jazer, and Namra, and Esebon, and Eleale, and Sebama, and Nabau, and Baean,
4 A terra que o Senhor feriu diante da congregação de Israel, é terra de gado: e os teus servos tem gado.
the land which the Lord has delivered up before the children of Israel, is pasture land, and your servants have cattle.
5 Disseram mais: Se achamos graça aos teus olhos, dê-se esta terra aos teus servos em possessão; e não nos faças passar o Jordão.
And they said, If we have found grace in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, and do not cause us to pass over Jordan.
6 Porém Moisés disse aos filhos de Gad e aos filhos de Ruben: Irão vossos irmãos à peleja, e ficareis vós aqui?
And Moses said to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall you sit here?
7 Porque pois descorajais o coração dos filhos de Israel, para que não passem à terra que o Senhor lhes tem dado?
And why do you pervert the minds of the children of Israel, that they should not cross over into the land, which the Lord gives them?
8 Assim fizeram vossos pais, quando os mandei de Cades-barnea, a ver esta terra.
Did not your fathers thus, when I sent them from Cades Barne to spy out the land?
9 Chegando eles até ao vale de Escol, e vendo esta terra, descorajaram o coração dos filhos de Israel, para que não viessem à terra que o Senhor lhes tinha dado
And they went up to the valley of the cluster, and spied the land, and turned aside the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land, which the Lord gave them.
10 Então a ira do Senhor se acendeu naquele mesmo dia, e jurou, dizendo:
And the Lord was very angry in that day, and sware, saying,
11 Que os varões, que subiram do Egito, de vinte anos e para cima não verão a terra que jurei a Abraão, a Isaac, e a Jacob porquanto não perseveraram em seguir-me;
Surely these men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upward, who know good and evil, shall not see the land which I sware [to give] to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, for they have not closely followed after me:
12 Exceto Caleb, filho de Jefoné o kenezeu, e Josué filho de Nun, porquanto perseveraram em seguir ao Senhor.
save Caleb the son of Jephonne, who was set apart, and Joshua the son of Naue, for they closely followed after the Lord.
13 Assim se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra Israel, e fê-los andar errantes até que se consumiu toda aquela geração, que fizera mal aos olhos do Senhor.
And the Lord was very angry with Israel; and for forty years he caused them to wander in the wilderness, until all the generation which did evil in the sight of the Lord was extinct.
14 E eis que vós, uma multidão de homens pecadores, vos levantastes em lugar de vossos pais, para ainda mais acrescentar o furor da ira do Senhor contra Israel.
Behold, you are risen up in the room of your fathers, a combination of sinful men, to increase yet farther the fierce wrath of the Lord against Israel.
15 Se vós vos virardes de segui-lo, também ele os deixará de novo no deserto, e destruireis a todo este povo.
For you will turn away from him to desert him yet once more in the wilderness, and you will sin against this whole congregation.
16 Então chegaram-se a ele, e disseram: Edificaremos currais aqui para o nosso gado, e cidades para as nossas crianças;
And they came to him, and said, We will build here folds for our cattle, and cities for our possessions;
17 Porém nós nos armaremos, apressando-nos diante dos de Israel, até que os levemos ao seu lugar: e ficarão as nossas crianças nas cidades fortes por causa dos moradores da terra.
and we will arm ourselves and go as an advanced guard before the children of Israel, until we shall have brought them into their place; and our possessions shall remain in walled cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 Não voltaremos para nossas casas, até que os filhos de Israel estejam de posse cada um da sua herança.
We will not return to our houses till the children of Israel shall have been distributed, each to his own inheritance.
19 Porque não herdaremos com eles de além do Jordão, nem mais adiante; porquanto nós já teremos a nossa herança de aquém do Jordão ao oriente
And we will not any longer inherit with them from the other side of Jordan and onwards, because we have our full inheritance on the side beyond Jordan eastward.
20 Então Moisés lhes disse: Se isto fizerdes assim, se vos armardes à guerra perante o Senhor;
And Moses said to them, If you will do according to these words, if you will arm yourselves before the Lord for battle,
21 E cada um de vós, armado, passar o Jordão perante o Senhor, até que haja lançado fora os seus inimigos de diante dele;
and every one of you will pass over Jordan fully armed before the Lord, until his enemy be destroyed from before his face,
22 E a terra esteja subjugada perante o Senhor; então voltareis depois, e ficareis desculpados perante o Senhor e perante Israel: e esta terra vos será por possessão perante o Senhor:
and the land shall be subdued before the Lord, then afterwards you shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and as regards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the Lord.
23 E se não fizerdes assim, eis que pecastes contra o Senhor: porém sentireis o vosso pecado, quando vos achar.
But if you will not do so, you will sin against the Lord; and you shall know your sin, when afflictions shall come upon you.
24 Edificai vós cidades para as vossas crianças, e currais para as vossas ovelhas; e fazei o que saiu da vossa boca.
And you shall build for yourselves cities for your store, and folds for your cattle; and you shall do that which proceeds out of your mouth.
25 Então falaram os filhos de Gad, e os filhos de Ruben a Moisés, dizendo: Como ordena meu senhor, assim farão teus servos.
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad spoke to Moses, saying, Your servants will do as our lord commands.
26 As nossas crianças, as nossas mulheres, a nossa fazenda, e todos os nossos animais estarão ai nas cidades de Gilead.
Our store, and our wives, and all our cattle shall be in the cities of Galaad.
27 Mas os teus servos passarão, cada um armado para pelejar para a guerra, perante o Senhor, como tem dito meu senhor.
But your servants will go over all armed and set in order before the Lord to battle, as [our] lord says.
28 Então Moisés deu ordem acerca deles a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e a Josué filho de Nun, e aos Cabeças das casas dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel;
And Moses appointed to them [for judges] Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Naue, and the chiefs of the families of the tribes of Israel.
29 E disse-lhes Moisés: Se os filhos de Gad, e os filhos de Ruben passarem convosco o Jordão, armado cada um para a guerra perante o Senhor; e a terra estiver subjugada diante de vós, em possessão lhes dareis a terra de Gilead;
And Moses said to them, If the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad will pass over Jordan with you, every one armed for war before the Lord, and you shall subdue the land before you, then you shall give to them the land of Galaad for a possession.
30 Porém se não passarem, armados, convosco, então se porão por possuidores no meio de vós na terra de Canaan.
But if they will not pass over armed with you to war before the Lord, then shall you cause to pass over their possessions and their wives and their cattle before you into the land of Chanaan, and they shall inherit with you in the land of Chanaan.
31 E responderam os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Ruben, dizendo: O que o Senhor falou a teus servos, isso faremos.
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad answered, saying, Whatsoever the Lord says to his servants, that will we do.
32 Nós passaremos, armados, perante o Senhor à terra de Canaan, e teremos a possessão de nossa herança de aquém do Jordão.
We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and you shall give us our inheritance beyond Jordan.
33 Assim deu-lhes Moisés, aos filhos de Gad, e aos filhos de Ruben, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, filho de José, o reino de Sehon, rei dos amorreus, e o reino de Og, rei de Basan: a terra com as suas cidades nos seus termos, as cidades do seu contorno.
And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasse of the sons of Joseph, the kingdom of Seon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, the land and its cities with its coasts, the cities of the land round about.
34 E os filhos de Gad edificaram a Dibon, e Ataroth, e Aroer;
And the sons of Gad built Daebon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 E Atroth-sophan, e Jaezer, e Jogbeha;
and Sophar, and Jazer, and they set them up,
36 E Beth-nimra, e Bethharan, cidades fortes; e currais de ovelhas.
and Namram, and Baetharan, strong cities, and folds for sheep.
37 E os filhos de Ruben edificaram a Hesbon, e Eleal, as e Quiriathaim;
And the sons of Ruben built Esebon, and Eleale, and Kariatham,
38 E Nebo, e Baal-meon, mudando-lhes o nome, e Sibma: e os nomes das cidades que edificaram chamaram por outros nomes.
and Beelmeon, surrounded [with walls], and Sebama; and they called the names of the cities which they built, after their own names.
39 E os filhos de Machir, filho de Manasseh, foram-se para Gilead, e a tomaram: e daquela possessão lançaram os amorreus, que estavam nela.
And a son of Machir the son of Manasse went to Galaad, and took it, and destroyed the Amorite who lived in it.
40 Assim Moisés deu Gilead a Machir, filho de Manasseh, o qual habitou nela.
And Moses gave Galaad to Machir the son of Manasse, and he lived there.
41 E foi-se Jair, filho de Manasseh, e tomou as suas aldeias; e chamou-as Havot-jair.
And Jair the [son] of Manasse went and took their villages, and called them the villages of Jair.
42 E foi-se Nobah, e tomou a Quenath com as suas aldeias; e chamou-a Nobah, segundo o seu nome.
And Nabau went and took Caath and her villages, and called them Naboth after his name.
