Mateus 13
1 E Jesus, tendo saído da casa naquele dia, estava assentado junto ao mar;
That same day Jesus had left the house and was sitting on the shore of the Lake,
2 E ajuntou-se muita gente ao pé dele, de sorte que, entrando num barco, se assentou; e toda a multidão estava em pé na praia.
when a vast multitude of people crowded round Him. He therefore went on board a boat and sat there, while all the people stood on the shore.
3 E falou-lhe de muitas coisas por parábolas, dizendo: Eis que o semeador saiu a semear.
He then spoke many things to them in figurative language. "The sower goes out," He said, "to sow.
4 E, quando semeava, uma parte da semente caiu ao pé do caminho, e vieram as aves, e comeram-na;
As he sows, some of the seed falls by the way-side, and the birds come and peck it up.
5 E outra parte caiu em pedregais, onde não havia terra bastante, e logo nasceu, porque não tinha terra funda;
Some falls on rocky ground, where it has but scanty soil. It quickly shows itself above ground, because it has no depth of earth;
6 Mas, vindo o sol, queimou-se, e secou-se, porque não tinha raiz.
but when the sun is risen, it is scorched by the heat, and through having no root it withers up.
7 E outra caiu em espinhos, e os espinhos cresceram, e sufocaram-na.
Some falls among the thorns; but the thorns spring up and stifle it.
8 E outra caiu em boa terra, e deu fruto: um grão produziu cem, outro sessenta e outro trinta.
But a portion falls upon good ground, and gives a return, some a hundred for one, some sixty, some thirty.
9 Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça.
Listen, every one who has ears!"
10 E, acercando-se dele os discípulos, disseram-lhe: Porque lhes falas por parábolas?
(And His disciples came and asked Him, "Why do you speak to them in figurative language?"
11 Ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: Porque a vós é dado conhecer os mistérios do reino dos céus, mas a eles não é dado
"Because," He replied, "while to you it is granted to know the secrets of the Kingdom of the Heavens, to them it is not.
12 Porque àquele que tem, se dará, e terá em abundância; mas àquele que não tem, até aquilo que tem lhe será tirado
For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but whoever has not, from him even what he has shall be taken away.
13 Por isso lhes falo por parábolas; porque eles, vendo, não veem; e, ouvindo, não ouvem nem compreendem.
I speak to them in figurative language for this reason, that while looking they do not see, and while hearing they neither hear nor understand.
14 E neles se cumpre a profecia de Isaias, que diz: Ouvindo, ouvireis, mas não compreendereis, e, vendo, vereis, mas não percebereis.
And in regard to them the prophecy of Isaiah is receiving signal fulfilment: "'You will hear and hear and by no means understand, and you will look and look and by no means see.
15 Porque o coração deste povo está endurecido, e ouviram de mau grado com seus ouvidos, e fecharam seus olhos; para que não vejam com os olhos, e ouçam com os ouvidos, e compreendam com o coração, e se convertam, e eu os cure.
For this people's mind is stupefied, their hearing has become dull, and their eyes they have closed; to prevent their ever seeing with their eyes, or hearing with their ears, or understanding with their minds, and turning back, so that I might heal them.'
16 Mas bem-aventurados os vossos olhos, porque veem, e os vossos ouvidos, porque ouvem.
"But as for you, blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.
17 Porque em verdade vos digo que muitos profetas e justos desejaram ver o que vós vedes, e não o viram; e ouvir o que vós ouvis e não o ouviram,
For I solemnly tell you that many Prophets and holy men have longed to see the sights you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the words you hear, and have not heard them.
18 Escutai vós pois a parábola do semeador.
"To you then I will explain the parable of the Sower.
19 Ouvindo alguém a palavra do reino, e não a entendendo, vem o maligno, e arrebata o que foi semeado no seu coração; este é o que foi semeado ao pé do caminho;
When a man hears the Message concerning the Kingdom and does not understand it, the Evil one comes and catches away what has been sown in his heart. This is he who has received the seed by the road-side.
20 Porém o que foi semeado em pedregais é o que ouve a palavra, e logo a recebe com alegria;
He who has received the seed on the rocky ground is the man who hears the Message and immediately receives it with joy.
21 Mas não tem raiz em si mesmo, antes é temporão; e, chegada a angústia e a perseguição por causa da palavra, logo se ofende;
It has struck no root, however, within him. He continues for a time, but when suffering comes, or persecution, because of the Message, he at once stumbles and falls.
22 E o que foi semeado em espinhos é o que ouve a palavra, mas os cuidados deste mundo, e a sedução das riquezas, sufocam a palavra, e fica infrutífera; (aiōn g165)
He who has received the seed among the thorns is the man who hears the Message, but the cares of the present age and the delusions of riches quite stifle the Message, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
23 Mas o que foi semeado em boa terra é o que ouve e compreende a palavra; e dá fruto, e um produz cem, outro sessenta, e outro trinta.
But he who has received the seed on good ground is he who hears and understands. Such hearers give a return, and yield one a hundred for one, another sixty, another thirty.")
24 Propos-lhes outra parábola, dizendo: O reino dos céus é semelhante ao homem que semeia boa semente no seu campo;
Another parable He put before them. "The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "may be compared to a man who has sown good seed in his field,
25 Mas, dormindo os homens, veio o seu inimigo, e semeou joio no meio do trigo, e retirou-se.
but during the night his enemy comes, and over the first seed he sows darnel among the wheat, and goes away.
26 E, quando a erva cresceu e frutificou, apareceu também o joio.
But when the blade shoots up and the grain is formed, then appears the darnel also.
27 E os servos do pai de família, indo ter com ele, disseram-lhe: Senhor, não semeaste tu no teu campo boa semente? Porque tem então joio?
"So the farmer's men come and ask him, "'Sir, was it not good seed that you sowed on your land? Where then does the darnel come from?'
28 E ele lhes disse: Um homem inimigo é que fez isso. E os servos lhe disseram: Queres pois que vamos colhe-lo?
"'Some enemy has done this,' he said. "'Shall we go, and collect it?' the men inquire.
29 Porém ele lhes disse: Não; para que ao colher o joio não arranqueis também o trigo com ele.
"'No,' he replied, 'for fear that while collecting the darnel you should at the same time root up the wheat with it.
30 Deixai crescer ambos juntos até à ceifa; e, por ocasião da ceifa, direi aos ceifeiros: Colhei primeiro o joio, e atai-o em molhos para o queimar; mas o trigo ajuntai-o no meu celeiro.
Leave both to grow together until the harvest, and at harvest-time I will direct the reapers, Collect the darnel first, and make it up into bundles to burn it, but bring all the wheat into my barn.'"
31 Outra parábola lhes propôs, dizendo: O reino dos céus é semelhante ao grão de mostarda que o homem, pegando dele, semeou no seu campo;
Another parable He put before them. "The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "is like a mustard-seed, which a man takes and sows in his ground.
32 O qual é realmente a mais pequena de todas as sementes; mas, crescendo, é a maior das plantas, e faz-se uma árvore, de sorte que veem as aves do céu, e se aninham nos seus ramos.
It is the smallest of all seeds, and yet when full-grown it is larger than any herb and forms a tree, so that the birds come and build in its branches."
33 Outra parábola lhes disse: O reino dos céus é semelhante ao fermento, que uma mulher, pegando dele, introduz em três medidas de farinha, até que tudo esteja levedado.
Another parable He spoke to them. "The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "is like yeast which a woman takes and buries in a bushel of flour, for it to work there till the whole mass has risen."
34 Tudo isto disse Jesus por parábolas à multidão, e não lhes falava sem parábolas;
All this Jesus spoke to the people in figurative language, and except in figurative language He spoke nothing to them,
35 Para que se cumprisse o que fôra dito pelo profeta, que disse: Abrirei em parábolas a minha boca; publicarei coisas ocultas desde a fundação do mundo.
in fulfilment of the saying of the Prophet, "I will open my mouth in figurative language, I will utter things kept hidden since the creation of all things."
36 Então Jesus, despedindo a multidão, foi para casa. E chegaram ao pé dele os seus discípulos, dizendo: Explica-nos a parábola do joio do campo.
When He had dismissed the people and had returned to the house, His disciples came to Him with the request, "Explain to us the parable of the darnel sown in the field."
37 E ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: O que semeia a boa semente, é o Filho do homem;
"The sower of the good seed," He replied, "is the Son of Man;
38 O campo é o mundo; e a boa semente são os filhos do reino; e o joio são os filhos do maligno;
the field is the world; the good seed--these are the sons of the Kingdom; the darnel, the sons of the Evil one.
39 O inimigo, que o semeou, é o diabo; e a ceifa é o fim do mundo; e os ceifeiros são os anjos. (aiōn g165)
The enemy who sows the darnel is the Devil; the harvest is the Close of the Age; the reapers are the angels. (aiōn g165)
As then the darnel is collected together and burnt up with fire, so will it be at the Close of the Age. (aiōn g165)
41 Mandará o Filho do homem os seus anjos, e eles colherão do seu reino todos os escândalos, e os que cometem iniquidade.
The Son of Man will commission His angels, and they will gather out of His Kingdom all causes of sin and all who violate His laws;
42 E lança-los-ão na fornalha de fogo; ali haverá pranto e ranger de dentes.
and these they will throw into the fiery furnace. There will be the weeping aloud and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Então os justos resplandecerão como o sol, no reino de seu pai. Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça.
Then will the righteous shine out like the sun in their Father's Kingdom. Listen, every one who has ears!
44 Também o reino dos céus é semelhante a um tesouro escondido num campo, que um homem achou e escondeu; e, pelo gozo dele, vai, vende tudo quanto tem, e compra aquele campo.
"The Kingdom of the Heavens is like treasure buried in the open country, which a man finds, but buries again, and, in his joy about it, goes and sells all he has and buys that piece of ground.
45 Outrossim o reino dos céus é semelhante ao homem, negociante, que busca boas pérolas;
"Again the Kingdom of the Heavens is like a jewel merchant who is in quest of choice pearls.
46 E, encontrando uma pérola de grande valor, foi, vendeu tudo quanto tinha, e comprou-a.
He finds one most costly pearl; he goes away; and though it costs all he has, he buys it.
47 Igualmente o reino dos céus é semelhante a uma rede lançada ao mar, e que prende toda a qualidade de peixes.
"Again the Kingdom of the Heavens is like a draw-net let down into the sea, which encloses fish of all sorts.
48 E, estando cheia, os pescadores a puxam para a praia; e, assentando-se, apanham para os cestos os bons; os ruins, porém, lançam fora.
When full, they haul it up on the beach, and sit down and collect the good fish in baskets, while the worthless they throw away.
49 Assim será na consumação dos séculos: virão os anjos, e separarão os maus dentre os justos. (aiōn g165)
So will it be at the Close of the Age. The angels will go forth and separate the wicked from among the righteous, (aiōn g165)
50 E lança-los-ão na fornalha de fogo: ali haverá pranto e ranger de dentes.
and will throw them into the fiery furnace. There will be the weeping aloud and the gnashing of teeth."
51 E disse-lhes Jesus: Entendestes todas estas coisas? Disseram-lhe eles: Sim, Senhor.
"Have you understood all this?" He asked. "Yes," they said.
52 E ele disse-lhes: Por isso, todo o escriba instruído acerca do reino dos céus é semelhante a um pai de família, que tira dos seus tesouros coisas novas e velhas.
"Therefore," He said, "remember that every Scribe well trained for the Kingdom of the Heavens is like a householder who brings out of his storehouse new things and old."
53 E aconteceu que Jesus, concluindo estas parábolas, se retirou dali.
Jesus concluded this series of parables and then departed.
54 E, chegando à sua pátria, ensinava-os na sinagoga deles, de sorte que se maravilhavam, e diziam: de onde veio a este a sabedoria, e estas maravilhas?
And He came into His own country and proceeded to teach in their synagogue, so that they were filled with astonishment and exclaimed, "Where did he obtain such wisdom, and these wondrous powers?
55 Não é este o filho do carpinteiro? e não se chama sua mãe Maria, e seus irmãos Thiago, e José, e Simão, e Judas?
Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers, James, Joseph, Simon and Judah?
56 E não estão entre nós todas as suas irmãs? de onde lhe veio pois tudo isto?
And his sisters--are they not all living here among us? Where then did he get all this?"
57 E escandalizavam-se nele. Jesus, porém, lhes disse: Não há profeta sem honra, senão na sua pátria e na sua casa.
So they turned angrily away from Him. But Jesus said to them, "There is no prophet left without honour except in his own country and among his own family."
58 E não fez ali muitas maravilhas, por causa da incredulidade deles.
And He performed but few mighty deeds there because of their want of faith.
