Lucas 7
1 E, depois de concluir todos estes discursos perante o povo, entrou em Cafarnaum.
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 E o servo de um certo centurião, a quem muito estimava, estava doente, e moribundo.
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 E, quando ouviu falar de Jesus, enviou-lhe uns anciãos dos judeus, rogando-lhe que viesse e curasse o seu servo.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 E, chegando eles junto de Jesus, rogaram-lhe muito, dizendo: É digno de que lhe concedas isto,
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 Porque ama a nossa nação, e ele mesmo nos edificou a sinagoga.
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 E foi Jesus com eles; mas, quando já estava perto da casa, enviou-lhe o centurião uns amigos, dizendo-lhe: Senhor, não te incomodes, porque não sou digno de que entres debaixo do meu telhado;
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Pelo que nem ainda me julguei digno de ir ter contigo; dize, porém, uma palavra, e o meu criado sarará.
Therefore neither thought I myself worthy to come to thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 Porque também eu sou homem sujeito à autoridade, e tenho soldados sob o meu poder, e digo a este: vai; e ele vai; e a outro: Vem; e ele vem; e ao meu servo: Faze isto; e ele o faz.
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 E Jesus, ouvindo isto, maravilhou-se dele, e, voltando-se, disse à multidão que o seguia: Digo-vos que nem ainda em Israel tenho achado tanta fé.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned himself about, and said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 E, voltando para casa os que foram enviados, acharam são o servo enfermo.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well that had been sick.
11 E aconteceu, no dia seguinte, que Jesus ia a uma cidade chamada Nain, e com ele iam muitos dos seus discípulos, e uma grande multidão;
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and many people.
12 E quando chegou perto da porta da cidade, eis que levavam um defunto, filho unigênito de sua mãe, que era viúva; e com ela ia uma grande multidão da cidade.
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.
13 E, vendo-a, o Senhor moveu-se de intima compaixão por ela, e disse-lhe: Não chores.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.
14 E, chegando-se, tocou o esquife (e os que o levavam pararam), e disse: Mancebo, a ti te digo: Levanta-te.
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.
15 E o defunto assentou-se, e começou a falar; e entregou-o a sua mãe.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 E de todos se apoderou o temor, e glorificavam a Deus, dizendo: Um grande profeta se levantou entre nós, e Deus visitou o seu povo.
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 E correu dele esta fama por toda a Judeia e por toda a terra circunvizinha.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the surrounding region.
18 E os discípulos de João anunciaram-lhe todas estas coisas.
And the disciples of John reported to him of all these things.
19 E João, chamando dois dos seus discípulos, enviou-os a Jesus, dizendo: És tu aquele que havia de vir, ou esperamos outro?
And John calling two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 E, quando aqueles homens chegaram junto dele, disseram: João Batista enviou-nos a dizer-te: És tu aquele que havia de vir, ou esperamos outro?
When the men had come to him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 E, na mesma hora, curou muitos de enfermidades, e males, e espíritos maus, e deu vista a muitos cegos.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and afflictions, and of evil spirits; and to many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Respondendo então Jesus, disse-lhes: Ide, e anunciai a João as coisas que tendes visto e ouvido: que os cegos veem, os coxos andam, os leprosos são purificados, os surdos ouvem, os mortos ressuscitam e o Evangelho anuncia-se aos pobres.
Then Jesus answering said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 E bem-aventurado aquele que em mim se não escandalizar.
And blessed is he, who shall not be offended because of me.
24 E, tendo-se retirado os mensageiros de João, começou a dizer à multidão acerca de João: Que saístes a ver ao deserto? uma cana abalada pelo vento
And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 Mas que saístes a vêr? um homem trajado de vestidos delicados? Eis que os que andam com preciosos vestidos, e em delícias, estão nos paços reais.
But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they who are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 Mas que saístes a vêr? um profeta? sim, vos digo, e muito mais do que profeta.
But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Este é aquele de quem está escrito: Eis que envio o meu anjo adiante da tua face, o qual preparará diante de ti o teu caminho.
This is he, concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 Porque eu vos digo que, entre os nascidos de mulheres, não há maior profeta do que João Batista; mas o menor no reino de Deus é maior do que ele.
For I say to you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 E todo o povo que o ouviu e os publicanos justificaram a Deus, tendo sido batizados com o batismo de João.
And all the people that heard him, and the tax collectors, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 Mas os fariseus e os doutores da lei rejeitaram o conselho de Deus contra si mesmos, não tendo sido batizados por ele.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.
31 E disse o Senhor: A quem pois compararei os homens desta geração, e a quem são semelhantes?
And the Lord said, To what then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 São semelhantes aos meninos que, assentados nas praças, clamam uns aos outros, e dizem: tocamos-vos flauta, e não dançastes; cantamos-vos lamentações, e não chorastes,
They are like children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 Porque veio João Batista, que nem comia pão nem bebia vinho, e dizeis: Tem demônio;
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
34 Veio o Filho do homem, que come e bebe, e dizeis: Eis ai um homem comilão, e bebedor de vinho, amigo dos publicanos e dos pecadores.
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!
35 Mas a sabedoria é justificada por todos os seus filhos.
But wisdom is justified by all her children.
36 E rogou-lhe um dos fariseus que comesse com ele; e, entrando em casa do fariseo, assentou-se à mesa.
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
37 E eis que uma mulher da cidade, uma pecadora, sabendo que ele estava à mesa em casa do fariseo, levou um vaso de alabastro com unguênto;
And, behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus was eating in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 E, estando detraz, aos seus pés, chorando, começou a regar-lhe os pés com lágrimas, e enxugava-lhos com os cabelos da sua cabeça; e beijava-lhe os pés, e ungia-lhos com o unguênto.
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 E, quando isto viu o fariseo que o tinha convidado, falava consigo, dizendo: Se este fôra profeta, bem saberia quem e qual é a mulher que o tocou, porque é pecadora.
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhe: Simão, uma coisa tenho a dizer-te. E ele disse: Dize-a, Mestre.
And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Master, say it.
41 Um certo credor tinha dois devedores; um devia-lhe quinhentos dinheiros, e outro cincoênta.
There was a certain creditor who had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 E, não tendo eles com que pagar, perdoou-lhes a ambos a dívida. Dize pois qual deles o amará mais?
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 E Simão, respondendo, disse: Tenho para mim que é aquele a quem mais perdoou. E ele lhe disse: Julgaste bem.
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 E, voltando-se para a mulher, disse a Simão: Vês tu esta mulher? Entrei em tua casa, e não me deste água para os pés; mas esta regou-me os pés com lágrimas, e mos enxugou com os seus cabelos.
And he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 Não me deste ósculo, mas esta, desde que entrou, não tem cessado de me beijar os pés.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Não me ungiste a cabeça com óleo, mas esta ungiu-me os pés com unguênto.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Por isso te digo que os seus muitos pecados lhe são perdoados, porque muito amou; mas aquele a quem pouco se perdoa pouco ama.
Therefore I say to thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 E disse-lhe a ela: Os teus pecados te são perdoados.
And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 E os que estavam à mesa começaram a dizer entre si: Quem é este, que até perdoa pecados?
And they that were eating with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 E disse à mulher: A tua fé te salvou: vai-te em paz.
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
