Isaías 32

1 Eis ai está que reinará um Rei em justiça, e dominarão os príncipes segundo o juízo.

For, behold, a righteous king shall reign, and princes shall govern with judgment.

2 E será aquele Varão como um esconderijo contra o vento, e um refúgio contra a tempestade, como ribeiros de águas em lugares secos, e como a sombra de uma grande rocha em terra sedenta.

And a man shall hide his words, and be hidden, as from rushing water, and shall appear in Sion as a rushing river, glorious in a thirsty land.

3 E os olhos dos que veem não olharão para traz: e os ouvidos dos que ouvem estarão atentos.

And they shall no more trust in men, but they shall incline their ears to hear.

4 E o coração dos imprudentes entenderá a sabedoria; e a língua dos gagos estará pronta para falar distintamente.

And the heart of the weak ones shall attend to hear, and the stammering tongues shall soon learn to speak peace.

5 Ao louco nunca mais se chamará liberal; e do avarento nunca mais se dirá que é generoso.

And they shall no more at all tell a fool to rule, and thy servants shall no more at all say, Be silent.

6 Porque o louco fala louquices, e o seu coração obra a iniquidade, para usar de hipocrisia, e para falar erros contra o Senhor, para deixar vazia a alma do faminto, e fazer com que o sedento venha a ter falta de beber.

For the fool shall speak foolish words, and his heart shall meditate vanities, and to perform lawless deeds and to speak error against the Lord, to scatter hungry souls, and he will cause the thirsty souls to be empty.

7 Também todos os instrumentos do avarento são maus: ele maquina invenções malignas, para destruir os aflitos com palavras falsas, como também ao juízo, quando o pobre chega a falar.

For the counsel of the wicked will devise iniquity, to destroy the poor with unjust words, and ruin the cause of the poor in judgment.

8 Mas o liberal projeta liberalidade, e pela liberalidade está em pé.

But the godly have devised wise [measures], and this counsel shall stand.

9 Levantai-vos, mulheres que estais em repouso, e ouvi a minha voz: e vós, filhas, que estais tão seguras, inclinai os ouvidos às minhas palavras.

Rise up, ye rich women, and hear my voice; ye confident daughters, hearken to my words.

10 Muitos dias de mais do ano vireis a ser turbadas, ó filhas que estais tão seguras; porque a vindima se acabará, e a colheita não virá.

Remember for a full year in pain, yet with hope: the vintage has been cut off; it has ceased, it shall by no means come again.

11 Tremei vós que estais em repouso, e turbai-vos vós, filhas, que estais tão seguras: despi-vos, e ponde-vos nuas, e cingi com saco os vossos lombos.

Be amazed, be pained, ye confident ones: strip you, bare yourselves, gird your loins;

12 Lamentar-se-á sobre os peitos, sobre os campos desejáveis, e sobre as vides frutuosas.

and beat your breasts, because of the pleasant field, and the fruit of the vine.

13 Sobre a terra do meu povo virão espinheiros e sarças; como também sobre todas as casas de alegria, na cidade que anda pulando de prazer.

[As for] the land of my people, the thorn and grass shall come upon [it], and joy shall be removed from every house.

14 Porque o palácio será desamparado, o arroido da cidade cessará: e Ophel e as torres da guarda servirão de cavernas eternamente, para alegria dos jumentos montezes, e para pasto dos gados;

[As for] the rich city, the houses are deserted; they shall abandon the wealth of the city, [and] the pleasant houses: and the villages shall be caves for ever, the joy of wild asses, shepherds' pastures;

15 Até que se derrame sobre nós o espírito do alto: então o deserto se tornará em campo fértil, e o campo fértil será reputado por um bosque.

until the Spirit shall come upon you from on high, and Chermel shall be desert, and Chermel shall be counted for a forest.

16 E o juízo habitará no deserto, e a justiça morará no campo fértil.

Then judgment shall abide in the wilderness, and righteousness shall dwell in Carmel.

17 E o efeito da justiça será paz, e a operação da justiça repouso e segurança, para sempre.

And the works of righteousness shall be peace; and righteousness shall ensure rest, and [the righteous] shall be confident for ever.

18 E o meu povo habitará em morada de paz, e em moradas bem seguras, e em lugares quietos de descanço.

And his people shall inhabit a city of peace, and dwell in [it] in confidence, and they shall rest with wealth.

19 Mas, descendo ao bosque, saraivará e a cidade se abaixará inteiramente.

And if the hail should come down, it shall not come upon you; and they that dwell in the forests shall be in confidence, as those in the plain country.

20 Bem-aventurados vós os que semeais sobre todas as águas: e para lá enviais o pé do boi e do jumento.

Blessed are they that sow by every water, where the ox and ass tread.
