Ezequiel 29

1 No décimo ano, no décimo mes, no dia doze do mes, veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

In the tenth year, in the tenth month on the twelfth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2 Filho do homem, dirige o teu rosto contra faraó, rei do Egito, e profetiza contra ele e contra todo o Egito.

“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt; prophesy against him and against all of Egypt.

3 Fala, e dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis-me contra ti, ó faraó, rei do Egito, o grande dragão, que pousa no meio dos seus rios, e que diz: O meu rio é meu, e eu o fiz para mim

Declare and say, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt. You, the great sea monster that lurks in the midst of the river, that says, “My river is my own. I have made it for myself.”

4 Porém eu porei anzois em teus queixos, e prenderei o peixe dos teus rios às tuas escamas; e todo o peixe dos teus rios se pegará às tuas escamas.

For I will place hooks in your jaw, and the fish of your Nile will cling to your scales; I will lift you up from the middle of your river along with all the fish of the river that cling to your scales.

5 E te deixarei no deserto, a ti e a todo o peixe dos teus rios; sobre a face do campo cairás: não serás recolhido nem ajuntado: aos animais da terra e às aves do céu te dei por mantimento.

I will throw you down into the wilderness, you and all the fish from your river. You will fall on the open field; you will not be gathered nor lifted up. I will give you as food to the living things of the earth and to the birds of the heavens.

6 E saberão todos os moradores do Egito que eu sou o Senhor, porquanto se fizera um bordão de cana para a casa de Israel.

Then all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a reed stalk to the house of Israel.

7 Tomando-te eles pela tua mão, te quebrantaste, e lhes rasgaste todo o ombro, e, encostando-se eles a ti, te quebraste, e lhes fizeste estar imóveis a todos os lombos.

When they took hold of you in their hand, you broke and tore open their shoulder; and when they leaned on you, you were broken, and you caused their legs to be unsteady.

8 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que eu trarei sobre ti a espada, e destruirei de ti homem e animal.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I will bring a sword against you. I will cut off both man and beast from you.

9 E a terra do Egito se tornará em assolação e deserto; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor, porquanto disse: O rio é meu, e eu o fiz.

So the land of Egypt will become desolate and a ruin. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, because the sea monster had said, “The river is mine, for I have made it.”

10 Portanto, eis que eu estou contra ti e contra os teus rios; e tornarei a terra do Egito em desertas e assoladas solidões, desde a torre de Sevene até aos confins da Ethiopia.

Therefore, behold! I am against you and against your river, so I will give the land of Egypt over to desolation and waste, and you will become a wasteland from the Migdol to Syene and the borders of Cush.

11 Não passará por ela pé de homem, nem pé de animal passará por ela, nem será habitada quarenta anos

No man's foot will pass through it, and no wild animal's foot will pass through it. It will not be inhabited for forty years.

12 Porque tornarei a terra do Egito em assolação no meio das terras assoladas; e as suas cidades no meio das cidades desertas se tornarão em assolação por quarenta anos; e espalharei os egípcios entre as nações, e os derramarei pelas terras

For I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of uninhabited lands, and its cities in the midst of wasted cities will become a desolation for forty years; then I will scatter Egypt among the nations, and I will disperse them though the lands.

13 Porém assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Ao cabo de quarenta anos ajuntarei os egípcios dentre os povos entre os quais foram espalhados.

For the Lord Yahweh says this: At the end of forty years I will gather Egypt from the peoples among whom they were scattered.

14 E tornarei a trazer o cativeiro dos egípcios, e os tornarei à terra de Pathros, à terra do seu comércio; e serão ali um reino baixo.

I will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the region of Pathros, to the land of their origin. Then they will be a lowly kingdom there.

15 Mais baixo se fará do que os outros reinos, e nunca mais se exalçará sobre as nações; porque os diminuirei, para que não dominem sobre as nações.

It will be the lowliest of the kingdoms, and it will not be lifted up any more among the nations. I will diminish them so they will no longer rule over nations.

16 E não servirá mais à casa de Israel de confiança, para lhe trazer à lembrança a sua iniquidade, quando olharem para traz deles; antes saberão que eu sou o Senhor Jehovah.

The Egyptians will no longer be a reason for confidence for the house of Israel. Instead, they will be a reminder of the iniquity that Israel committed when they turned to Egypt for help. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.'”

17 E sucedeu que, no ano vinte e sete, no mês primeiro, no primeiro dia do mes, veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

Then it came about in the twenty-seventh year on the first of the first month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

18 Filho do homem, Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, fez com que o seu exército prestasse um grande serviço contra Tiro; toda a cabeça se tornou calva, e todo o ombro se pelou: e não houve paga de Tiro para ela, nem para o seu exército, pelo serviço que prestou contra ela.

“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon stationed his army to do hard work against Tyre. Every head was rubbed until it was made bald, and every shoulder was made raw. Yet he and his army received no payment from Tyre for the hard work that he carried out against it.

19 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que eu darei a Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, a terra do Egito; e levará a sua multidão, e despojará o seu despojo, e roubará a sua preza, e isto será a paga para o seu exército.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Behold! I am giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and he will take away its wealth, plunder its possessions, and carry off all he finds there; that will be his army's wages.

20 Por paga do seu trabalho, com que serviu contra ela, lhe dei a terra do Egito; porquanto trabalharam por mim, diz o Senhor Jehovah.

I have given him the land of Egypt as the wages for the work they did for me—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.

21 Naquele dia farei brotar o poder na casa de Israel, e te darei abrimento da boca no meio deles; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

On that day I will make a horn sprout up for the house of Israel, and I make you speak in their midst, so that they will know that I am Yahweh.'”
