1 Eis que és formosa, amiga minha, eis que és formosa: os teus olhos são como os das pombas entre as tuas tranças: o teu cabello é como o rebanho de cabras que pastam no monte de Gilead.
Behold, thou are fair, my love, behold, thou are fair. Thine eyes are doves behind thy veil. Thy hair is as a flock of goats that lie along the side of mount Gilead.
2 Os teus dentes são como o rebanho das ovelhas tosquiadas, que sobem do lavadouro, e todas ellas produzem gemeos, e nenhuma ha esteril entre ellas.
Thy teeth are like a flock of ewes that are newly shorn, which have come up from the washing, of which every one has twins, and none is bereaved among them.
3 Os teus labios são como um fio d'escarlate, e o teu fallar é doce: a fonte da tua cabeça como um pedaço de romã entre as tuas tranças.
Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy mouth is comely. Thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate behind thy veil.
4 O teu pescoço é como a torre de David, edificada para pendurar armas: mil escudos pendem d'ella, todos rodellas de valorosos.
Thy neck is like the tower of David built for an armory, on which there hang a thousand bucklers, all the shields of the mighty men.
5 Os teus dois peitos são como dois filhos gemeos da corça, que se apascentam entre os lyrios.
Thy two breasts are like two fawns that are twins of a roe, which feed among the lilies.
6 Até que sopre o dia, e fujam as sombras, irei ao monte da myrrha e ao outeiro do incenso.
Until the day is cool, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.
7 Tu és toda formosa, amiga minha, e em ti não ha mancha.
Thou are all fair, my love, and there is no spot in thee.
8 Vem comigo do Libano, ó esposa, comigo do Libano vem: olha desde o cume de Amana, desde o cume de Senir e de Hermon, desde as moradas dos leões, desde os montes dos leopardos.
Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, with me from Lebanon. Look from the top of Amana, from the top of Senir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards.
9 Tiraste-me o coração, irmã minha, ó esposa: tiraste-me o coração com um dos teus olhos, com um collar do teu pescoço.
Thou have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride. Thou have ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.
10 Que bellos são os teus amores, irmã minha! oh esposa minha! quanto melhores são os teus amores do que o vinho! e o cheiro dos teus unguentos do que o de todas as especiarias!
How fair is thy love, my sister, my bride! How much better is thy love than wine, and the fragrance of thine oils than all manner of spices!
11 Favos de mel estão manando dos teus labios, ó esposa! mel e leite estão debaixo da tua lingua, e o cheiro dos teus vestidos é como o cheiro do Libano.
Thy lips, O my bride, drop the honeycomb. Honey and milk are under thy tongue, and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.
12 Jardim fechado és tu, irmã minha, esposa minha, manancial fechado, fonte sellada.
A garden shut up is my sister, my bride, a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
13 Os teus renovos são um pomar de romãs, com fructos excellentes, o cypreste com o nardo,
Thy shoots are an orchard of pomegranates, with precious fruits, henna with spikenard plants,
14 O nardo, e o açafrão, o calamo, e a canella, com toda a sorte d'arvores d'incenso, a myrrha e aloes, com todas as principaes especiarias.
spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices.
15 És a fonte dos jardins, poço das aguas vivas, que correm do Libano!
Thou are a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and flowing streams from Lebanon.
16 Levanta-te, vento norte, e vem tu, vento sul: assopra no meu jardim, para que distillem os seus aromas: ah! se viesse o meu amado para o seu jardim, e comesse os seus fructos excellentes!
Awake, O north wind, and come, thou south, blow upon my garden, that the spices of it may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his precious fruits.
