Salmos 56

1 Tem misericordia de mim, ó Deus, porque o homem procura devorar-me; pelejando todo o dia, me opprime.

For the end, concerning the people that were removed from the sanctuary, by David for a memorial, when the Philistines caught him in Geth. Have mercy upon me, O God; for man has trodden me down; all the day long he warring has afflicted me.

2 Os que me andam espiando procuram devorar-me todo o dia; pois são muitos os que pelejam contra mim, ó Altissimo.

Mine enemies have trodden me down all the day from the dawning of the day; for there are many warring against me.

3 Em qualquer tempo que eu temer, me confiarei de ti.

They shall be afraid, but I will trust in you.

4 Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra, em Deus puz a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer a carne.

In God I will praise my words; all the day have I hoped in God; I will not fear what flesh shall do to me.

5 Todos os dias torcem as minhas palavras: todos os seus pensamentos são contra mim para o mal.

All the day long they have abominated my words; all their devices [are] against me for evil.

6 Ajuntam-se, escondem-se, marcam os meus passos, como aguardando a minha alma.

They will dwell near and hide [themselves]; they will watch my steps, accordingly as I have waited patiently in my soul.

7 Porventura escaparão elles por meio da sua iniquidade? Ó Deus, derriba os povos na tua ira!

You will on no account save them; you will bring down the people in wrath.

8 Tu contas as minhas vagueações; põe as minhas lagrimas no teu odre: não estão ellas no teu livro?

O God, I have declared my life to you; you has set my tears before you, even according to your promise.

9 Quando eu a ti clamar, então voltarão para traz os meus inimigos: isto sei eu, porque Deus é por mim.

Mine enemies shall be turned back, in the day wherein I shall call upon you; behold, I know that you are my God.

10 Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra: no Senhor louvarei a sua palavra.

In God, will I praise [his] word; in the Lord will I praise [his] saying.

11 Em Deus tenho posto a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer o homem.

I have hoped in God; I will not be afraid of what man shall do to me.

12 Os teus votos estão sobre mim, ó Deus: eu te renderei acções de graças;

The vows of your praise, O God, which I will pay, are upon me.

13 Pois tu livraste a minha alma da morte; não livrarás os meus pés da queda, para andar diante de Deus na luz dos viventes?

For you have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from sliding, that I should be well-pleasing before God in the land of the living.
