Salmos 31

1 Em ti, Senhor, confio; nunca me deixes confundido: livra-me pela tua justiça.

In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness.

2 Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos, livra-me depressa; sê a minha firme rocha, uma casa fortissima que me salve.

Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

3 Porque tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza; pelo que, por amor do teu nome, guia-me e encaminha-me.

For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name's sake lead me, and guide me.

4 Tira-me da rede que para mim esconderam, pois tu és a minha força.

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privately for me: for you are my strength.

5 Nas tuas mãos encommendo o meu espirito: tu me redimiste, Senhor Deus da verdade.

Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

6 Aborreço aquelles que se entregam a vaidades enganosas; eu porém confio no Senhor.

I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

7 Eu me alegrarei e regozijarei na tua benignidade, pois consideraste a minha afflicção: conheceste a minha alma nas angustias.

I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities;

8 E não me entregaste nas mãos do inimigo; pozeste os meus pés n'um logar espaçoso.

And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room.

9 Tem misericordia de mim, ó Senhor, porque estou angustiado: consumidos estão de tristeza os meus olhos, a minha alma e o meu ventre.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

10 Porque a minha vida está gasta de tristeza, e os meus annos de suspiros; a minha força descae por causa da minha iniquidade, e os meus ossos se consomem.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

11 Fui opprobrio entre todos os meus inimigos, até entre os meus visinhos, e horror para os meus conhecidos: os que me viam na rua fugiam de mim.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

12 Estou esquecido no coração d'elles, como um morto; sou como um vaso quebrado.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

13 Pois ouvi a murmuração de muitos, temor havia ao redor; emquanto juntamente consultavam contra mim, intentaram tirar-me a vida.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

14 Mas eu confiei em ti, Senhor: e disse: Tu és o meu Deus.

But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God.

15 Os meus tempos estão nas tuas mãos: livra-me das mãos dos meus inimigos e dos que me perseguem.

My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

16 Faze resplandecer o teu rosto sobre o teu servo: salva-me por tuas misericordias.

Make your face to shine upon your servant: save me for your mercies' sake.

17 Não me deixes confundido, Senhor, porque te tenho invocado: deixa confundidos os impios, e emmudeçam na sepultura. (Sheol h7585)

Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. (Sheol h7585)

18 Emmudeçam os labios mentirosos que fallam coisas más com soberba e desprezo contra o justo.

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

19 Oh! quão grande é a tua bondade, que guardaste para os que te temem! a qual obraste para aquelles que em ti confiam na presença dos filhos dos homens!

Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men!

20 Tu os esconderás, no secreto da tua presença, dos desaforos dos homens: encobril-os-has em um pavilhão da contenda das linguas.

You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

21 Bemdito seja o Senhor, pois fez maravilhosa a sua misericordia para comigo em cidade segura.

Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

22 Pois eu dizia na minha pressa: Estou cortado de diante dos teus olhos; não obstante, tu ouviste a voz das minhas supplicas, quando eu a ti clamei.

For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto you.

23 Amae ao Senhor, vós todos que sois seus sanctos; porque o Senhor guarda os fieis e retribue com abundancia ao que usa de soberba.

O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD perserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer.

24 Esforçae-vos, e elle fortalecerá o vosso coração, vós todos que esperaes no Senhor.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.
