Salmos 139
1 Senhor, tu me sondaste, e me conheces.
O lord, you have searched me, and known me.
2 Tu sabes o meu assentar e o meu levantar: de longe entendes o meu pensamento.
You know my sitting down and mine rising up, you understand my thought far off.
3 Cercas o meu andar, e o meu deitar; e conheces todos os meus caminhos.
You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Não havendo ainda palavra alguma na minha lingua, eis que logo, ó Senhor, tudo conheces.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, you know it altogether.
5 Tu me cercaste por detraz e por diante; e pozeste sobre mim a tua mão.
You have beset me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me.
6 Tal sciencia é para mim maravilhosissima; tão alta que não a posso attingir.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Para onde me irei do teu Espirito, ou para onde fugirei da tua face?
Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 Se subir ao céu, lá tu estás: se fizer no inferno a minha cama, eis que tu ali estás tambem. (Sheol h7585)
If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there. (Sheol h7585)
9 Se tomar as azas da alva, se habitar nas extremidades do mar,
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Até ali a tua mão me guiará e a tua dextra me susterá.
Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
11 Se disser: Decerto que as trevas me encobrirão; então a noite será luz á roda de mim
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Nem ainda as trevas me encobrem de ti: mas a noite resplandece como o dia; as trevas e a luz são para ti a mesma coisa.
Yea, the darkness hides not from you; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you.
13 Pois possuiste os meus rins; cobriste-me no ventre de minha mãe.
For you have possessed my reins: you have covered me in my mother's womb.
14 Eu te louvarei, porque de um modo terrivel, e tão maravilhoso fui feito; maravilhosas são as tuas obras, e a minha alma o sabe muito bem.
I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.
15 Os meus ossos não te foram encobertos, quando no occulto fui feito, e entretecido nas profundezas da terra.
My substance was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the low parts of the earth.
16 Os teus olhos viram o meu corpo ainda informe; e no teu livro todas estas coisas foram escriptas; as quaes em continuação foram formadas, quando nem ainda uma d'ellas havia.
your eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 E quão preciosos me são, ó Deus, os teus pensamentos! Quão grandes são as sommas d'elles!
How precious also are your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 Se as contasse, seriam em maior numero do que a areia: quando acordo ainda estou comtigo.
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with you.
19 Ó Deus, tu matarás decerto o impio: apartae-vos portanto de mim, homens de sangue.
Surely you will slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, all of you bloody men.
20 Pois fallam malvadamente contra ti; e os teus inimigos tomam o teu nome em vão.
For they speak against you wickedly, and your enemies take your name in vain.
21 Não aborreço eu, ó Senhor, aquelles que te aborrecem, e não me afflijo por causa dos que se levantam contra ti?
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate you? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against you?
22 Aborreço-os com odio perfeito: tenho-os por inimigos.
I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Sonda-me, ó Deus, e conhece o meu coração: prova-me, e conhece os meus pensamentos.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 E vê se ha em mim algum caminho mau, e guia-me pelo caminho eterno.
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
