Provérbios 1
1 Proverbios de Salomão, filho de David, rei d'Israel;
The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, King of Israel:
2 Para se conhecer a sabedoria e a instrucção; para se entenderem as palavras da prudencia;
For the knowledge of wisdom and correction, for discerning the sayings of intelligence;
3 Para se receber a instrucção do entendimento, a justiça, o juizo, e a equidade;
For receiving the correction of prudence, righteousness and justice, and equity;
4 Para dar aos simplice prudencia, e aos moços conhecimento e bom siso;
For giving To the simple shrewdness, To the young man, knowledge and discretion.
5 Para o sabio ouvir e crescer em doutrina, e o entendido adquirir sabios conselhos;
A wise man, will hear, and will increase learning, and a, discreet man, wise counsels, will acquire,
6 Para entender proverbios e a sua declaração: como tambem as palavras dos sabios, e as suas adivinhações.
By gaining discernment of proverb, and satire, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7 O temor do Senhor é o principio da sciencia: os loucos desprezam a sabedoria e a instrucção.
The reverence of Yahweh, is the beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and correction, the foolish have despised.
8 Filho meu, ouve a instrucção de teu pae, e não deixes a doutrina de tua mãe.
Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction of thy mother;
9 Porque diadema de graça serão para a tua cabeça, e colares para o teu pescoço.
For, a wreath of beauty, shall they be to thy head, and chains of ornament, to thy neck.
10 Filho meu, se os peccadores te attrahirem com afagos, não consintas.
My son, if sinners entice thee, do not consent.
11 Se disserem: Vem comnosco; espiemos o sangue; espreitemos o innocente sem razão;
If they say—Come with us, —Let us lie in wait for blood, Let us watch in secret for him who is needlessly innocent;
Let us engulf them, like hades, alive, While in health, like them who are going down to the pit; (Sheol h7585)
13 Acharemos toda a sorte de fazenda preciosa; encheremos as nossas casas de despojos;
All costly substance, shall we find, We shall fill our houses with spoil;
14 Lança a tua sorte entre nós; teremos todos uma só bolsa.
Thy lot, shalt thou cast into our midst, One purse, shall there be, for us all.
15 Filho meu, não te ponhas a caminho com elles: desvia o pé das suas veredas;
My son, do not walk in the way with them, Withhold thy foot from their path.
16 Porque os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam a derramar sangue.
For, their feet, to mischief, do run, and haste to the shedding of blood.
17 Na verdade debalde se estende a rede perante os olhos de toda a sorte d'aves.
Surely, in vain, is spread the net, in the sight of aught that hath wings!
18 E estes armam ciladas contra o seu proprio sangue; e as suas proprias vidas espreitam.
Yet, they, for their own blood, lie in wait, They watch in secret for their own life.
19 Assim são as veredas de todo aquelle que usa d'avareza: ella prenderá a alma de seus amos.
Such are the ways of every one that graspeth with greed, The life of the owners thereof, it taketh away!
20 A suprema sabedoria altamente clama de fóra: pelas ruas levanta a sua voz.
Wisdom, in the open place, soundeth forth, in the broadways, she raiseth her voice;
21 Nas encruzilhadas, em que ha tumultos, clama: ás entradas das portas, na cidade profere as suas palavras.
At the head of bustling streets, she crieth aloud, —at the openings of the gates in the city—her sayings, she doth utter: —
22 Até quando, ó simplices, amareis a simplicidade? e vós, escarnecedores, desejareis o escarneo? e vós, loucos, aborrecereis o conhecimento?
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and, scoffers, in scoffing, delight them? and, dullards, hate knowledge?
23 Tornae-vos á minha reprehensão: eis que abundantemente vos derramarei de meu espirito e vos farei saber as minhas palavras.
Will ye turn, at my reproof? Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit, I will make known my words to you.
24 Porquanto clamei, e vós recusastes; estendi a minha mão, e não houve quem désse attenção;
Because I called, and ye refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one regarded;
25 Mas rejeitastes todo o meu conselho, e não quizestes a minha reprehensão.
But ye dismissed all my counsel, and, to my rebuke, would not yield,
26 Tambem eu me rirei na vossa perdição, e zombarei, vindo o vosso temor;
I also, at your calamity, will laugh, I will mock, when cometh your dread;
27 Vindo como a assolação o vosso temor, e vindo a vossa perdição como uma tormenta, sobrevindo-vos aperto e angustia.
When cometh as a crashing your dread, and, your calamity, as a storm-wind, overtaketh, when there come upon you, distress and anguish.
28 Então a mim clamarão, porém eu não responderei; de madrugada me buscarão, porém não me acharão.
Then, will they call me, but I will not answer, they will seek me diligently, but shall not find me.
29 Porquanto aborreceram o conhecimento; e não elegeram o temor do Senhor;
Because they hated knowledge, and, the reverence of Yahweh, did not choose;
30 Não consentiram ao meu conselho e desprezaram toda a minha reprehensão.
Consented not to my counsel, disdained all my rebuke,
31 Assim que comerão do fructo do seu caminho, e fartar-se-hão dos seus proprios conselhos.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and, with their own counsels, be filled.
32 Porque o desvio dos simplices os matará, e a prosperidade dos loucos os destruirá.
For, the turning away of the simple, will slay them, —and, the carelessness of dullards, will destroy them.
33 Porém o que me der ouvidos habitará seguramente, e estará descançado do temor do mal
Whereas, he that hearkeneth unto me, shall dwell safely, and be at rest, without dread of misfortune.
