Josué 3
1 Levantou-se pois Josué de madrugada, e partiram de Sittim, e vieram até ao Jordão, elle e todos os filhos d'Israel: e pousaram ali, antes que passassem.
Therfor Josue roos bi nyyt, and mouede tentis; and thei yeden out of Sechym, and camen to Jordan, he and alle the sones of Israel, and dwelliden there thre daies.
2 E succedeu, ao fim de tres dias, que os principes passaram pelo meio do arraial;
And whanne tho daies weren passid, crieris yeden thorouy the myddis of tentis,
3 E ordenaram ao povo, dizendo: Quando virdes a arca do concerto do Senhor vosso Deus, e que os sacerdotes levitas a levam, parti vós tambem do vosso logar, e segui-a.
and bigunnen to crie, Whanne ye seen the arke of boond of pees of youre Lord God, and the preestis of the generacioun of Leuy berynge it, also rise ye, and sue the biforgoeris;
4 Haja comtudo distancia entre vós e ella, como da medida de dois mil covados: e não vos chegueis a ella, para que saibaes o caminho pelo qual haveis d'ir; porquanto por este caminho nunca passastes antes.
and a space of twey thousynde cubitis be bitwixe you and the arke, that ye moun se fer, and knowe bi what weie ye schulen entre, for ye `yeden not bifore bi it; and be ye war, that ye neiye not to the arke.
5 Disse Josué tambem ao povo: Sanctificae-vos, porque ámanhã fará o Senhor maravilhas no meio de vós
And Josue seide to the puple, Be ye halewid, for to morew the Lord schal make merueilis among you.
6 E fallou Josué aos sacerdotes, dizendo: Levantae a arca do concerto, e passae adiante d'este povo. Levantaram pois a arca do concerto, e foram andando adiante do povo.
And Josue seide to the preestis, Take ye the arke of the boond of pees `of the Lord, and go ye bifor the puple. Whiche filliden the heestis, and tooken the arke, and yeden bifor hem.
7 E o Senhor disse a Josué: Este dia começarei a engrandecer-te perante os olhos de todo o Israel, para que saibam, que assim como fui com Moysés assim serei comtigo.
And the Lord seide to Josue, To dai Y schal bigynne to enhaunse thee bifor al Israel, that thei wite, that as Y was with Moises, so Y am also with thee.
8 Tu pois ordenarás aos sacerdotes que levam a arca do concerto, dizendo: Quando vierdes até á borda das aguas do Jordão, parareis no Jordão.
Forsothe comaunde thou to preestis, that beren the arke of bond of pees, and seie thou to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to a part of the watir of Jordan, stonde ye therynne.
9 Então disse Josué aos filhos d'Israel: Chegae-vos para cá, e ouvi as palavras do Senhor vosso Deus.
And Josue seide to the sones of Israel, Neiye ye hidur, and here ye the word of youre Lord God.
10 Disse mais Josué: N'isto conhecereis que o Deus vivo está no meio de vós: e que de todo lançará de diante de vós aos cananeos, e aos hetheos, e aos heveos, e aos phereseos, e aos girgaseos, e aos amorrheos, e aos jebuseos.
And eft he seide, In this ye schulen wite that the Lord God lyuynge is in the myddis of you; and he schal distrye in youre siyt Cananey, Ethei, Euey, and Feresei, and Gergesei, and Jebusei, and Amorrei.
11 Eis que a arca do concerto do Senhor de toda a terra passa o Jordão diante de vós.
Lo! the arke of boond of pees of the Lord of al erthe schal go bifor you thorouy Jordan.
12 Tomae-vos pois agora doze homens das tribus d'Israel, de cada tribu um homem;
Make ye redi twelue men of the twelue lynagis of Israel, bi ech lynage o man.
13 Porque ha de acontecer que, assim que as plantas dos pés dos sacerdotes que levam a arca do Senhor, o Senhor de toda a terra, repousem nas aguas do Jordão, se separarão as aguas do Jordão, e as aguas que de cima descem pararão n'um montão.
And whanne the preestis, that beren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord God of al erthe, han set the steppis of her feet in the watris of Jordan, the watris that ben lowere schulen renne doun, and schulen faile; forsothe the watris that comen fro aboue schulen stonde togidere in o gobet.
14 E aconteceu que, partindo o povo das suas tendas, para passar o Jordão, levavam os sacerdotes a arca do concerto diante do povo.
Therfor the puple yede out of her tabernaclis to passe Jordan; and the preestis that baren the arke of boond of pees yeden bifor the puple.
15 E os que levavam a arca, quando chegaram até ao Jordão, e os pés dos sacerdotes que levavam a arca, se molharam na borda das aguas, (porque o Jordão trasbordava sobre todas as suas ribanceiras, todos os dias da sega),
And whanne the preestis entriden in to Jordan, and her feet weren dippid in the part of watir; forsothe Jordan `hadde fillid the brynkis of his trow in the tyme of `ripe corn;
16 Pararam-se as aguas, que vinham de cima; levantaram-se n'um montão, mui longe da cidade d'Adam, que está da banda de Santan; e as que desciam ao mar das campinas, que é o mar salgado, faltavam de todo e separaram-se: então passou o povo defronte de Jericó.
the watris yeden doun, and stoden in o place, and wexiden grete at the licnesse of an hil, and apperiden fer fro the citee that was clepid Edom, `til to the place of Sarthan; sotheli the watris that weren lowere yeden doun in to the see of wildirnesse, which is now clepid the deed see, `til the watris failiden outirli.
17 Porém os sacerdotes, que levavam a arca do concerto do Senhor, pararam firmes em secco no meio do Jordão: e todo o Israel passou em secco, até que todo o povo acabou de passar o Jordão.
Forsothe the puple yede thorouy Jordan; and the preestis, that baren the arke of the boond of pees of the Lord, stoden gird on the drie erthe in the myddis of Jordan, and al the puple passide thorouy the drie trow.
