Jonas 2
1 E orou Jonas ao Senhor, seu Deus, das entranhas do peixe.
Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
2 E disse: Da minha angustia clamei ao Senhor, e elle me respondeu; do ventre do inferno gritei, e tu ouviste a minha voz. (Sheol h7585)
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and you heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 Porque tu me lançaste no profundo, no coração dos mares, e a corrente me tem cercado; todas as tuas ondas e as tuas vagas teem passado por cima de mim.
For you had cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all your billows and your waves passed over me.
4 E eu dizia: Lançado estou de diante dos teus olhos; todavia tornarei a ver o templo da tua sanctidade.
Then I said, I am cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.
5 As aguas me cercaram até á alma, o abysmo me rodeou, e a alga se embrulhava á minha cabeça.
The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 Eu desci até aos fundamentos dos montes: os ferrolhos da terra me encerrariam para sempre; mas tu fizeste subir a minha vida da perdição, ó Senhor meu Deus.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet have you brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
7 Desfallecendo em mim a minha alma, me lembrei do Senhor; e entrou a ti a minha oração, no templo da tua sanctidade.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto you, into your holy temple.
8 Os que observam as vaidades vãs deixam a sua propria misericordia.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 Mas eu te sacrificarei com a voz do agradecimento; o que votei pagarei: do Senhor vem a salvação.
But I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10 Fallou pois o Senhor ao peixe: e vomitou a Jonas na terra.
And the LORD spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
