Deuteronômio 18
1 Os sacerdotes levitas, toda a tribu de Levi, não terão parte nem herança em Israel: das offertas queimadas do Senhor e da sua herança comerão.
The priests the Levites, [and] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
2 Pelo que não terá herança no meio de seus irmãos: o Senhor é a sua herança, como lhe tem dito.
Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD [is] their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
3 Este pois será o direito dos sacerdotes, a receber do povo, dos que sacrificarem sacrificio, seja boi ou gado miudo: que dará ao sacerdote a espadoa, e as queixadas, e o bucho.
And this shall be the priest’s due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether [it be] ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
4 Dar-lhe-has as primicias do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, e as primicias da tosquia das tuas ovelhas.
The firstfruit [also] of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.
5 Porque o Senhor teu Deus o escolheu de todas as tuas tribus, para que assista a servir no nome do Senhor, elle e seus filhos, todos os dias.
For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.
6 E, quando vier um levita de alguma das tuas portas, de todo o Israel, onde habitar, e vier com todo o desejo da sua alma ao logar que o Senhor escolheu,
And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose;
7 E servir no nome do Senhor seu Deus, como tambem todos os seus irmãos, os levitas, que assistem ali perante o Senhor;
Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites [do], which stand there before the LORD.
8 Egual porção comerão, além das suas vendas paternas.
They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.
9 Quando entrares na terra que o Senhor teu Deus te dér, não aprenderás a fazer conforme as abominações d'aquellas nações.
When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 Entre ti se não achará quem faça passar pelo fogo a seu filho ou a sua filha, nem adivinhador, nem prognosticador, nem agoureiro, nem feiticeiro;
There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Nem encantador de encantamentos, nem quem pergunte a um espirito adivinhante, nem magico, nem quem pergunte aos mortos:
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 Pois todo aquelle que faz tal coisa é abominação ao Senhor; e por estas abominações o Senhor teu Deus as lança fóra de diante d'elle
For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Perfeito serás, como o Senhor teu Deus.
Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14 Porque estas nações, que has de possuir, ouvem os prognosticadores e os adivinhadores: porém a ti o Senhor teu Deus não permittiu tal coisa.
For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so [to do].
15 O Senhor teu Deus te despertará um propheta do meio de ti, de teus irmãos, como eu; a elle ouvireis;
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16 Conforme a tudo o que pediste ao Senhor teu Deus em Horeb, no dia da congregação, dizendo: Não ouvirei mais a voz do Senhor meu Deus, nem mais verei este grande fogo, para que não morra.
According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 Então o Senhor me disse: Bem fallaram n'aquillo que disseram.
And the LORD said unto me, They have well [spoken that] which they have spoken.
18 Eis lhes suscitarei um propheta do meio de seus irmãos, como tu, e porei as minhas palavras na sua bocca, e elle lhes fallará tudo o que eu lhe ordenar.
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 E será que qualquer que não ouvir as minhas palavras, que elle fallar em meu nome, eu o requererei d'elle.
And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him.
20 Porém o propheta que presumir soberbamente de fallar alguma palavra em meu nome, que eu lhe não tenho mandado fallar, ou o que fallar em nome de outros deuses, o tal propheta morrerá.
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 E, se disseres no teu coração: Como conheceremos a palavra que o Senhor não fallou?
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 Quando o tal propheta fallar em nome do Senhor, e tal palavra se não cumprir, nem succeder assim; esta é palavra que o Senhor não fallou: com soberba a fallou o tal propheta: não tenhas temor d'elle.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
