Amós 2

1 Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Moab, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque queimou os ossos do rei de Edom, até os tornar em cal.

Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:

2 Por isso porei fogo a Moab, e consumirá os palacios de Querioth: e Moab morrerá com grande estrondo, com alarido, com sonido de buzina.

But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

3 E exterminarei o juiz do meio d'elle, e a todos os seus principes com elle matarei, diz o Senhor.

And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, says the LORD.

4 Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Judah, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque rejeitaram a lei do Senhor, e não guardaram os seus estatutos, e as suas mentiras os enganaram, após as quaes andaram seus paes.

Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to go astray, after the which their fathers have walked:

5 Por isso porei fogo a Judah, e consumirá os palacios de Jerusalem.

But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 Assim diz o Senhor: Por tres transgressões de Israel, e por quatro, não o afastarei, porque vendem o justo por dinheiro, e o necessitado por um par de sapatos,

Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;

7 Suspirando pelo pó da terra sobre a cabeça dos pobres, e pervertem o caminho dos mansos; e o homem e seu pae entram a uma mesma moça, para profanarem o meu sancto nome.

That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:

8 E se deitam junto a qualquer altar sobre as roupas empenhadas, e bebem o vinho dos multados na casa de seus deuses.

And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

9 Não obstante eu ter destruido o amorrheo diante d'elles, cuja altura foi como a altura dos cedros, e foi forte como os carvalhos; mas destrui o seu fructo por cima, e as suas raizes por baixo.

Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

10 Tambem vos fiz subir da terra do Egypto, e quarenta annos vos guiei no deserto, para que possuisseis a terra do amorrheo.

Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

11 E a alguns d'entre vossos filhos suscitei para prophetas, e alguns d'entre os vossos mancebos para nazireos; e não é isto assim, filhos de Israel? diz o Senhor.

And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O all of you children of Israel? says the LORD.

12 Mas vós aos nazireos déstes vinho a beber, e aos prophetas mandastes, dizendo: Não prophetizareis.

But all of you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

13 Eis que eu vos apertarei no vosso logar como se aperta um carro cheio de manolhos.

Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

14 Assim que perecerá a fugida ao ligeiro; nem o forte corroborará a sua força, nem o valente livrará a sua vida.

Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

15 E não ficará em pé o que leva o arco, nem o ligeiro de pés se livrará, nem tão pouco o que vae montado a cavallo livrará a sua alma.

Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rides the horse deliver himself.

16 E o mais animoso entre os valentes fugirá nú n'aquelle dia, disse o Senhor.

And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, says the LORD.
