2 Crônicas 6

1 Então disse Salomão: O Senhor tem dito que habitaria nas trevas.

Then spake Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

2 E eu te tenho edificado uma casa para morada, e um logar para a tua eterna habitação.

But I have built thee an house of habitation, and a place for thee to dwell in for ever.

3 Então o rei virou o seu rosto, e abençoou a toda a congregação d'Israel, e toda a congregação d'Israel estava em pé

And the king turned his face, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

4 E elle disse: Bemdito seja o Senhor Deus d'Israel, que fallou pela sua bocca a David meu pae; e pelas suas mãos o cumpriu, dizendo:

And he said, Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying,

5 Desde o dia em que tirei a meu povo da terra do Egypto, não escolhi cidade alguma de todas as tribus d'Israel, para edificar n'ella uma casa em que estivesse o meu nome; nem escolhi homem algum para ser chefe do meu povo, Israel.

Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:

6 Porém escolhi a Jerusalem, para que ali estivesse o meu nome; e escolhi a David, para que tivesse cargo do meu povo, Israel.

but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

7 Tambem David meu pae teve no seu coração o edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor, Deus d'Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

8 Porém o Senhor disse a David meu pae: Porquanto tiveste no teu coração o edificar uma casa ao meu nome, bem fizeste, de ter isto no teu coração.

But the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart:

9 Comtudo tu não edificarás a casa, mas teu filho, que ha de proceder de teus lombos, esse edificará a casa ao meu nome.

nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

10 Assim confirmou o Senhor a sua palavra, que elle fallou; porque eu me levantei em logar de David meu pae, e me assentei sobre o throno d'Israel, como o Senhor disse, e edifiquei a casa ao nome do Senhor, Deus d'Israel.

And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

11 E puz n'ella a arca, em que está o concerto do Senhor que fez com os filhos d'Israel.

And there have I set the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with the children of Israel.

12 E poz-se em pé perante o altar do Senhor, defronte de toda a congregação d'Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos.

And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:

13 Porque Salomão tinha feito uma base de metal, de cinco covados de comprimento, e de cinco covados de largura, e de tres covados d'altura, e a tinha posto no meio do pateo, e poz-se n'ella em pé, e ajoelhou-se de joelhos em presença de toda a congregação d'Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos para o céu

(for Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: )

14 E disse: Ó Senhor, Deus d'Israel, não ha Deus similhante a ti, nem nos céus nem na terra; que guardas o concerto e a beneficencia aos teus servos que caminham perante ti de todo o seu coração.

and he said, O LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in the heaven, or in the earth; who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart:

15 Que guardaste ao teu servo David, meu pae, o que lhe fallaste: porque tu pela tua bocca o disseste, e pela tua mão o cumpriste, como se vê n'este dia.

who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

16 Agora pois, Senhor, Deus d'Israel, guarda ao teu servo David, meu pae, o que fallaste, dizendo: Nunca faltará de ti varão de diante de mim que se assente sobre o throno d'Israel; tão sómente que teus filhos guardem seu caminho, andando na minha lei, como tu andaste diante de mim

Now therefore, O LORD, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as thou hast walked before me.

17 E agora, Senhor Deus d'Israel, verifique-se a tua palavra, que fallaste ao teu servo, a David.

Now therefore, O LORD, the God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David.

18 Mas verdadeiramente habitará Deus com os homens na terra? eis que os céus e o céu dos céus não te podem conter, quanto menos esta casa que tenho edificado?

But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!

19 Attende pois á oração do teu servo, e á sua supplica, ó Senhor meu Deus: para ouvires o clamor, e a oração, que o teu servo ora perante ti.

Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

20 Que os teus olhos estejam dia e noite abertos sobre este logar, de que disseste que ali porias o teu nome; para ouvires a oração que o teu servo orar n'este logar.

that thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.

21 Ouve pois as supplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo Israel, que orarem n'este logar; e ouve tu do logar da tua habitação, desde os céus; ouve pois, e perdoa.

And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22 Quando alguem peccar contra o seu proximo, e lhe impuzer juramento de maldição, para se amaldiçoar a si mesmo, e o juramento de maldição vier perante o teu altar, n'esta casa

If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and he come [and] swear before thine altar in this house:

23 Ouve tu então desde os céus, e obra, e julga a teus servos, pagando ao impio, lançando o seu proceder sobre a sua cabeça: e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.

then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

24 Quando tambem o teu povo Israel fôr ferido diante do inimigo, por ter peccado contra ti, e elles se converterem, e confessarem o teu nome, e orarem e supplicarem perante ti n'esta casa,

And if thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall turn again and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house:

25 Então ouve tu desde os céus, e perdoa os peccados de teu povo Israel; e fal-os tornar á terra que lhes tens dado a elles e a seus paes.

then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

26 Quando os céus se cerrarem, e não houver chuva, por terem peccado contra ti, e orarem n'este logar, e confessarem teu nome, e se converterem dos seus peccados, quando tu os affligires,

When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:

27 Então ouve tu desde os céus, e perdoa o peccado de teus servos, e do teu povo Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho, em que andem; e dá chuva sobre a tua terra, que déste ao teu povo em herança.

then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

28 Havendo fome na terra, havendo peste, havendo queimadura dos trigos, ou ferrugem, gafanhotos, ou lagarta, cercando-a algum dos seus inimigos nas terras das suas portas, ou quando houver qualquer praga, ou qualquer enfermidade,

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpiller; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness there be;

29 Toda a oração, e toda a supplica, que qualquer homem fizer, ou todo o teu povo Israel, conhecendo cada um a sua praga, e a sua dôr, e estender as suas mãos para esta casa,

what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:

30 Então ouve tu desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, e perdoa, e dá a cada um conforme a todos os seus caminhos, segundo conheces o seu coração (pois só tu conheces o coração dos filhos dos homens),

then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men; )

31 A fim de que te temam, para andarem nos teus caminhos, todos os dias que viverem na terra que déste a nossos paes.

that they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

32 Assim tambem ao estrangeiro, que não fôr do teu povo Israel, mas vier de terras remotas por amor do teu grande nome, e da tua poderosa mão, e do teu braço estendido: vindo elles e orando n'esta casa,

Moreover concerning the stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; when they shall come and pay toward this house:

33 Então ouve tu desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, e faze conforme a tudo o que o estrangeiro te supplicar: a fim de que todos os povos da terra conheçam o teu nome, e te temam, como o teu povo Israel; e afim de saberem que pelo teu nome é chamada esta casa que edifiquei.

then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built, is called by thy name.

34 Quando o teu povo sair á guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que os enviares, e orarem a ti para a banda d'esta cidade que escolheste, e d'esta casa, que edifiquei ao teu nome;

If thy people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

35 Ouve então desde os céus a sua oração, e a sua supplica, e executa o seu direito.

then hear thou from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

36 Quando peccarem contra ti (pois não ha homem que não peque), e tu te indignares contra elles, e os entregares diante do inimigo, para que os que os captivarem os levem em captiveiro para alguma terra, remota ou visinha,

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not, ) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto a land far off or near;

37 E na terra, para onde forem levados em captiveiro, tornarem em si, e se converterem, e na terra do seu captiveiro, a ti supplicarem, dizendo: Peccámos, perversamente fizemos, e impiamente obrámos;

yet if they shall bethink themselves, in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;

38 E se converterem a ti com todo o seu coração e com toda a sua alma, na terra do seu captiveiro, a que os levaram presos, e orarem para a banda da sua terra, que déste a seus paes, e d'esta cidade que escolheste, e d'esta casa que edifiquei ao teu nome,

if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

39 Ouve então desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, a sua oração e as suas supplicas, e executa o seu direito; e perdoa ao teu povo que houver peccado contra ti.

then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause; and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.

40 Agora pois, ó meu Deus, estejam os teus olhos abertos, e os teus ouvidos attentos á oração d'este logar.

Now, O my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent, unto the prayer that is made in this place.

41 Levanta-te pois agora, Senhor Deus, para o teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza: os teus sacerdotes, ó Senhor Deus, sejam vestidos de salvação, e os teus sanctos se alegrem do bem.

Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

42 Ah! Senhor Deus, não faças virar o rosto do teu ungido: lembra-te das misericordias de David teu servo.

O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.
