2 Crônicas 19
1 E Josaphat, rei de Judah, voltou á sua casa em paz a Jerusalem.
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2 E Jehu, filho d'Hanani, o vidente, lhe saiu ao encontro, e disse ao rei Josaphat: Devias tu ajudar ao impio, e amar aquelles que ao Senhor aborrecem? por isso virá sobre ti grande ira de diante do Senhor.
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Should you help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon you from before the LORD.
3 Boas coisas comtudo se acharam em ti; porque tiraste os bosques da terra, e preparaste o teu coração, para buscar a Deus.
Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have taken away the groves out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.
4 Habitou pois Josaphat em Jerusalem: e tornou a passar pelo povo desde Berseba até as montanhas d'Ephraim, e fez com que tornassem ao Senhor Deus de seus paes.
And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.
5 E estabeleceu juizes na terra, em todas as cidades fortes, de cidade em cidade.
And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
6 E disse aos juizes: Vede o que fazeis; porque não julgaes da parte do homem, senão da parte do Senhor, e elle está comvosco no negocio do juizo.
And said to the judges, Take heed what all of you do: for all of you judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
7 Agora pois, seja o temor do Senhor comvosco: guardae-o, e fazei-o; porque não ha no Senhor nosso Deus iniquidade nem acceitação de pessoas, nem acceitação de presentes.
Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
8 E tambem estabeleceu Josaphat a alguns dos levitas e dos sacerdotes e dos chefes dos paes d'Israel sobre o juizo do Senhor, e sobre as causas judiciaes: e tornaram a Jerusalem.
Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 E deu-lhes ordem, dizendo: Assim fazei no temor do Senhor com fidelidade, e com coração inteiro.
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall all of you do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10 E em toda a differença que vier a vós de vossos irmãos que habitam nas suas cidades, entre sangue e sangue, entre lei e mandamento, entre estatutos e juizos, e admoestae-os, que se não façam culpados para com o Senhor, e não venha grande ira sobre vós, e sobre vossos irmãos: fazei assim, e não vos fareis culpados
And what cause whatsoever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, all of you shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and all of you shall not trespass.
11 E eis que Amarias, o summo sacerdote, presidirá sobre vós em todo o negocio do Senhor; e Zebadias, filho d'Ishmael, principe da casa de Judah, em todo o negocio do rei; tambem os officiaes, os levitas, estão perante vós: esforçae-vos, pois, e fazei-o; e o Senhor será com os bons.
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
