1 Początek ewangelii Jezusa Chrystusa, Syna Bożego.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
2 Jak jest napisane u Proroków: Oto ja posyłam mego posłańca przed twoim obliczem, który przygotuje twoją drogę przed tobą.
As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, which shall prepare your way before you.
3 Głos wołającego na pustyni: Przygotujcie drogę Pana, prostujcie jego ścieżki.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 Jan chrzcił na pustyni i głosił chrzest pokuty na przebaczenie grzechów.
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 I przychodziła do niego cała kraina judzka i mieszkańcy Jerozolimy, i wszyscy byli chrzczeni przez niego w rzece Jordan, wyznając swoje grzechy.
And there went out to him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Jan ubierał się w sierść wielbłądzią i miał skórzany pas wokół swoich bioder, a jadał szarańczę i miód leśny.
And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
7 I głosił: Idzie za mną mocniejszy ode mnie, któremu nie jestem godny, schyliwszy się, rozwiązać rzemyka u jego obuwia.
And preached, saying, There comes one mightier than I after me, the lace of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
8 Ja chrzciłem was wodą, ale on będzie was chrzcił Duchem Świętym.
I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
9 A w tych dniach przyszedł Jezus z Nazaretu w Galilei i został ochrzczony przez Jana w Jordanie.
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 A zaraz, wychodząc z wody, ujrzał rozstępujące się niebiosa i Ducha jak gołębicę zstępującego na niego.
And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending on him:
11 I rozległ się głos z nieba: Ty jesteś moim umiłowanym Synem, w którym mam upodobanie.
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
12 I zaraz Duch zapędził go na pustynię.
And immediately the spirit drives him into the wilderness.
13 Był tam na pustyni czterdzieści dni, będąc kuszony przez szatana. I przebywał wśród zwierząt, a aniołowie służyli mu.
And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
14 Lecz potem, gdy Jan został wtrącony [do więzienia], Jezus przyszedł do Galilei, głosząc ewangelię królestwa Bożego;
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 I mówiąc: Wypełnił się czas i przybliżyło się królestwo Boże. Pokutujcie i wierzcie ewangelii.
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent you, and believe the gospel.
16 A przechadzając się nad Morzem Galilejskim, zobaczył Szymona i Andrzeja, jego brata, zarzucających sieć w morze; byli bowiem rybakami.
Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
17 I powiedział do nich Jezus: Pójdźcie za mną, a sprawię, że staniecie się rybakami ludzi.
And Jesus said to them, Come you after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
18 A [oni] natychmiast zostawili swoje sieci i poszli za nim.
And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
19 Gdy zaś odszedł stamtąd nieco dalej, zobaczył Jakuba, syna Zebedeusza, i Jana, jego brata, którzy w łodzi naprawiali sieci.
And when he had gone a little farther there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
20 I zaraz ich powołał, a oni zostawili swego ojca Zebedeusza w łodzi z najemnikami i poszli za nim.
And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
21 Potem weszli do Kafarnaum, a zaraz w szabat [Jezus] wszedł do synagogi i nauczał.
And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
22 I zdumiewali się jego nauką, uczył ich bowiem jak ten, który ma moc, a nie jak uczeni w Piśmie.
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 A w ich synagodze był człowiek [mający] ducha nieczystego, który zawołał:
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 Ach, cóż my z tobą mamy, Jezusie z Nazaretu? Przyszedłeś nas zniszczyć? Wiem, kim jesteś: Świętym Boga.
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, the Holy One of God.
25 I zgromił go Jezus: Zamilcz i wyjdź z niego!
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him.
26 Wtedy duch nieczysty szarpnął nim i zawoławszy donośnym głosem, wyszedł z niego.
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27 I zdumieli się wszyscy, tak że pytali się między sobą: Cóż to jest? Co to za nowa nauka, że z mocą rozkazuje nawet duchom nieczystym i są mu posłuszne?
And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commands he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
28 I wieść o nim szybko się rozeszła po całej okolicy wokół Galilei.
And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
29 A zaraz po wyjściu z synagogi przyszli z Jakubem i Janem do domu Szymona i Andrzeja.
And immediately, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 A teściowa Szymona leżała w gorączce. Od razu też powiedzieli mu o niej.
But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and immediately they tell him of her.
31 Podszedł więc i podniósł ją, ująwszy za rękę, i natychmiast opuściła ją gorączka. A ona usługiwała im.
And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered to them.
32 Kiedy nastał wieczór i zaszło słońce, przynosili do niego wszystkich chorych oraz opętanych.
And at even, when the sun did set, they brought to him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
33 A całe miasto zgromadziło się przed drzwiami.
And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 On zaś uzdrowił wielu cierpiących na różne choroby i wypędził wiele demonów, a nie pozwolił demonom mówić, bo go znały.
And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
35 A wstawszy wczesnym rankiem, przed świtem, wyszedł i udał się na odludne miejsce, i tam się modlił.
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
36 Poszli też za nim Szymon i ci, którzy z nim byli.
And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
37 A znalazłszy go, powiedzieli mu: Wszyscy cię szukają.
And when they had found him, they said to him, All men seek for you.
38 Wtedy im powiedział: Chodźmy do przyległych miasteczek, abym i tam głosił, bo po to przyszedłem.
And he said to them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
39 I głosił w ich synagogach po całej Galilei, i wypędzał demony.
And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
40 Wtedy przyszedł do niego trędowaty, upadł przed nim na kolana i prosił go: Jeśli chcesz, możesz mnie oczyścić.
And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying to him, If you will, you can make me clean.
41 A Jezus, zdjęty litością, wyciągnął rękę, dotknął go i powiedział do niego: Chcę, bądź oczyszczony!
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and says to him, I will; be you clean.
42 Gdy Pan to powiedział, natychmiast trąd go opuścił i został oczyszczony.
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
43 A [Jezus] surowo mu przykazał i zaraz go odprawił;
And he straightly charged him, and immediately sent him away;
44 Mówiąc: Uważaj, abyś nikomu nic nie mówił, ale idź, pokaż się kapłanowi i ofiaruj za swoje oczyszczenie to, co nakazał Mojżesz, na świadectwo dla nich.
And says to him, See you say nothing to any man: but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
45 Lecz on odszedł i zaczął bardzo to rozpowiadać i rozgłaszać, tak że Jezus nie mógł już jawnie wejść do miasta, ale przebywał na zewnątrz, w miejscach odludnych. A [ludzie] zewsząd schodzili się do niego.
But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
