Izajasza 53
1 Któż uwierzył naszemu głoszeniu, a komu jest objawione ramię PANA?
O Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 Wyrósł bowiem przed nim jak latorośl i jak korzeń z suchej ziemi. Nie miał kształtu ani urody; i gdy widzieliśmy go, nie było wyglądu, który by się nam podobał.
We brought a report as [of] a child before him; [he is] as a root in a thirsty land: he has no form nor comeliness; and we saw him, but he had no form nor beauty.
3 Wzgardzony i odrzucony przez ludzi; mąż boleści i doświadczony cierpieniem. I przed nim ukrywaliśmy jakby swoją twarz; wzgardzony tak, że mieliśmy go za nic.
But his form was ignoble, and inferior to that of the children of men; [he was] a man in suffering, and acquainted with the bearing of sickness, for his face is turned from [us]: he was dishonoured, and not esteemed.
4 Zaprawdę on wziął na siebie nasze cierpienia i nosił naszą boleść. A my uważaliśmy, że jest zraniony, uderzony przez Boga i utrapiony.
He bears our sins, and is pained for us: yet we accounted him to be in trouble, and in suffering, and in affliction.
5 Lecz on był zraniony za nasze występki, starty za nasze nieprawości. Kara dla naszego pokoju była na nim, a jego ranami zostaliśmy uzdrowieni.
But he was wounded on account of our sins, and was bruised because of our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; [and] by his bruises we were healed.
6 Wszyscy jak owce zbłądziliśmy, każdy z nas zboczył na swą drogę, a PAN włożył na niego nieprawość nas wszystkich.
All we as sheep have gone astray; every one has gone astray in his way; and the Lord gave him up for our sins.
7 Uciśniony i gnębiony, ale nie otworzył swoich ust. Jak baranek na rzeź prowadzony i jak owca przed tymi, którzy ją strzygą, zamilkł i nie otworzył swoich ust.
And he, because of his affliction, opens not his mouth: he was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is dumb, so he opens not his mouth.
8 Został zabrany z więzienia i z sądu. Kto wypowie jego pokolenie? Został bowiem wyrwany z ziemi żyjących i zraniony za przestępstwo mojego ludu.
In [his] humiliation his judgement was taken away: who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken away from the earth: because of the iniquities of my people he was led to death.
9 I wyznaczono mu grób z niegodziwcami, a z bogaczami była jego śmierć, choć nieprawości nie uczynił ani nie znaleziono fałszu w jego ustach.
And I will give the wicked for his burial, and the rich for his death; for he practised no iniquity, nor craft with his mouth.
10 Lecz spodobało się PANU zetrzeć go i zgnębić. A po złożeniu swojej duszy na ofiarę za grzech, ujrzy swoje potomstwo, przedłuży swoje dni i to, co się podoba PANU, przez jego rękę szczęśliwie się spełni.
The Lord also is pleased to purge him from his stroke. If you can give an offering for sin, your soul shall see a long-lived seed:
11 Z udręki swojej duszy ujrzy [owoc] i nasyci się. Mój sprawiedliwy sługa swoim poznaniem usprawiedliwi wielu, bo sam poniesie ich nieprawości.
the Lord also is pleased to take away from the travail of his soul, to show him light, and to form [him] with understanding; to justify the just one who serves many well; and he shall bear their sins.
12 Dlatego dam mu dział wśród wielkich, aby dzielił się zdobyczami z mocarzami, ponieważ wylał swoją duszę na śmierć. Został zaliczony do przestępców, sam poniósł grzech wielu i wstawił się za przestępcami.
Therefore he shall inherit many, and he shall divide the spoils of the mighty; because his soul was delivered to death: and he was numbered amongst the transgressors; and he bore the sins of many, and was delivered because of their iniquities.
