II Królewska 24
1 Za jego dni wyruszył Nabuchodonozor, król Babilonu, i Joakim stał się jego sługą przez trzy lata. Potem zbuntował się przeciwko niemu.
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim was his servant three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.
2 A PAN posłał przeciwko niemu oddziały Chaldejczyków, oddziały Syryjczyków, oddziały Moabitów i oddziały synów Ammona. Posłał ich na Judę, aby go zniszczyć zgodnie ze słowem PANA, które wypowiedział przez swoje sługi, proroków.
And Jehovah sent against him the bands of the Chaldeans, and the bands of the Syrians, and the bands of the Moabites, and the bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke through his servants the prophets.
3 Owszem, zgodnie z poleceniem PANA spotkało to Judę, aby odrzucić go sprzed jego oblicza za grzechy Manassesa, za to wszystko, co uczynił;
Verily, at the commandment of Jehovah it came to pass against Judah, that they should be removed out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done;

and also [because of] the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah would not pardon.

And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

And Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt, from the torrent of Egypt to the river Euphrates.
8 Joachin miał osiemnaście lat, kiedy zaczął królować, i królował trzy miesiące w Jerozolimie. Jego matka [miała] na imię Nechuszta [i była] córką Elnatana z Jerozolimy.
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9 Czynił on to, co złe w oczach PANA, zupełnie tak, jak czynił jego ojciec.
And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father had done.
10 W tym czasie słudzy Nabuchodonozora, króla Babilonu, wyruszyli przeciw Jerozolimie i przyszło do oblężenia miasta.
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11 Potem sam Nabuchodonozor, król Babilonu, nadciągnął przeciw miastu, a jego słudzy je oblegali.
And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, while his servants were besieging it.
12 Wtedy Joachin, król Judy, wyszedł do króla Babilonu, on i jego matka, jego słudzy, jego książęta i jego dworzanie. I król Babilonu pojmał go w ósmym roku swego panowania.
And Jehoiachin king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his chamberlains; and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
13 I wyniósł stamtąd wszystkie skarby domu PANA i skarby domu królewskiego i pokruszył wszystkie przedmioty złote, które wykonał Salomon, król Izraela, dla świątyni PANA, tak jak zapowiedział PAN.
And he brought out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had said.
14 I przesiedlił całą Jerozolimę: wszystkich książąt, wszystkich dzielnych wojowników – dziesięć tysięcy jeńców, oraz wszystkich rzemieślników i kowali. Nie pozostał nikt oprócz ubogiego ludu tej ziemi.
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained but the poorest sort of the people of the land.
15 Przeniósł też do Babilonu Joachina. A także matkę króla, żony króla, jego dworzan i dostojników tej ziemi zabrał do niewoli z Jerozolimy do Babilonu.
And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his chamberlains, and the mighty of the land, he led into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon;
16 Także wszystkich dzielnych mężów [w liczbie] siedmiu tysięcy, tysiąc rzemieślników i kowali oraz wszystkich zdolnych do walki – tych zabrał król Babilonu do niewoli do Babilonu.
and all the men of valour, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all strong men apt for war, and the king of Babylon brought them captive to Babylon.
17 W jego miejsce król Babilonu ustanowił królem jego stryja Mattaniasza i zmienił mu imię na Sedekiasz.
And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his uncle king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Sedekiasz miał dwadzieścia jeden lat, kiedy zaczął królować, i królował jedenaście lat w Jerozolimie. Jego matka [miała] na imię Chamutal [i była] córką Jeremiasza z Libny.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19 Czynił on to, co złe w oczach PANA, zupełnie tak, jak czynił Joakim.
And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20 Z powodu gniewu PANA przyszło to na Jerozolimę i Judę, aż odrzucił ich sprzed swego oblicza. A Sedekiasz zbuntował się przeciw królowi Babilonu.
For, because the anger of Jehovah was against Jerusalem and against Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
