1 Pieśń stopni. Na Dawida pomnij, Panie! na wszystkie utrapienia jego.
A Canticle in steps. O Lord, remember David and all his meekness,
2 Który przysiągł Panu, a ślub uczynił mocarzowi Jakóbowemu, mówiąc:
how he swore to the Lord, how he made a vow to the God of Jacob:
3 Zaiste nie wnijdę do przybytku domu mego, i nie wstąpię na posłanie łoża mego;
I shall not enter into the tabernacle of my house, nor climb into the bed where I lie down;
4 I nie pozwolę snu oczom moim, ani powiekom moim drzemania,
I shall not give sleep to my eyes, nor slumber to my eyelids
5 Dokąd nie znajdę miejsca dla Pana, na mieszkania mocarzowi Jakóbowemu.
and rest to my temples, until I find a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
6 Oto usłyszawszy o niej w Efracie, znaleźliśmy ją na polach leśnych.
Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We discovered it in the fields of the forest.
7 Wnijdźmyż do przybytków jego, a kłaniajmy się u podnóżka nóg jego.
We will enter into his tabernacle. We will adore in the place where his feet stood.
8 Powstańże Panie! a wnijdź do odpocznienia twego, ty, i skrzynia możności twojej.
Rise up, O Lord, into your resting place. You and the ark of your sanctification.
9 Kapłani twoi niech się obloką w sprawiedliwość, a święci twoi nie się rozradują.
Let your priests be clothed with justice, and let your saints exult.
10 Dla Dawida, sługi twego, nie odwracaj oblicza pomazańca twego.
For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your Christ.
11 Przysiągł Pan Dawidowi prawdę, a nie uchyli się od niej, mówiąc: Z owocu żywota twego posadzę na stolicy twojej.
The Lord has sworn the truth to David, and he will not disappoint: I will set upon your throne from the fruit of your lineage.
12 Będąli strzegli synowie twoi przymierza mojego, i świadectw moich, których ich nauczę: tedy i synowie ich aż na wieki będą siedzieli na stolicy twojej
If your sons will keep my covenant and these, my testimonies, which I will teach to them, then their sons will sit upon your throne even forever.
13 Albowiem obrał Pan Syon, i upodobał go sobie na mieszkanie, mówiąc:
For the Lord has chosen Zion. He has chosen it as his dwelling place.
14 Toć będzie odpocznienie moje aż na wieki; tu będę mieszkał, bom go siebie upodobał.
This is my resting place, forever and ever. Here I will dwell, for I have chosen it.
15 Żywność jego będę obficie błogosławił, a ubogich jego nasycę chlebem.
When blessing, I will bless her widow. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 Kapłanów jego przyoblokę zbawieniem, a święci jego weseląc się, radować się będą.
I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will rejoice with great joy.
17 Tam sprawię, że zakwitnie róg Dawidowy; tam zgotuję pochodnię pomazańcowi memu.
There, I will produce a horn to David. There, I have prepared a lamp for my Christ.
18 Nieprzyjaciół jego przyoblokę wstydem; ale nad nim rozkwitnie się korona jego.
I will clothe his enemies with confusion. But my sanctification will flourish over him.
