1 A odpowiadając Bildad Suhytczyk rzekł:

Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,

2 Panowanie i strach jest przy nim; on czyni pokój na wysokościach swoich.

What beginning or fear is his—even he that makes all things in the highest?

3 Izali jest liczba wojskom jego? a nad kim nie wschodzi światłość jego?

For let none think that there is a respite for robbers: and upon whom will there not come a snare from him?

4 Jakoż tedy nędzny człowiek usprawiedliwiony być może przed Bogiem? albo jako może być czysty urodzony z niewiasty?

For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

5 Oto i miesiącby nie świecił i gwiazdyby nie były czyste w oczach jego:

If he gives an order to the moon, then it shines not; and the stars are not pure before him.

6 Jakoż daleko mniej człowiek, który jest robakiem, a syn człowieczy, który jest czerwiem.

But alas! man is corruption, and the son of man a worm.
