Hioba 17
1 Dech mój skażony jest; dni moje giną; groby mię czekają.
“My spirit is consumed. My days are extinct and the grave is ready for me.
2 Zaiste naśmiewcy są przy mnie, a w ich draźnieniu mieszka oko moje.
Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
3 Staw mi, proszę, rękojmię za się. Któż jest ten? Niech mi na to da rękę.
“Now give a pledge. Be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
4 Boś serce ich ukrył przed wyrozumieniem; przetoż ich nie wywyższysz.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding, therefore you will not exalt them.
5 Kto pochlebia przyjaciołom, oczy synów jego ustaną.
He who denounces his friends for plunder, even the eyes of his children will fail.
6 Wystawił mię zaiste na przypowieść ludziom, i jako śmiechowisko przed nimi.
“But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
7 Zaćmione jest dla żałości oko moje, a wszystkie myśli moje są jako cień.
My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow. All my members are as a shadow.
8 Zdumieją się szczerzy nad tem; a niewinny przeciwko obłudnikowi powstanie.
Upright men will be astonished at this. The innocent will stir himself up against the godless.
9 Będzie się trzymał sprawiedliwy drogi swojej; a kto ma czyste ręce, przyczyni mocy.
Yet the righteous will hold to his way. He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
10 Wy tedy wszyscy nawróćcie się, a pójdźcie, proszę; bo nie znajduję między wami mądrego.
But as for you all, come back. I will not find a wise man amongst you.
11 Dni moje przeminęły; myśli moje rozerwane są, to jest, zamysły serca mego.
My days are past. My plans are broken off, as are the thoughts of my heart.
12 Noc mi się w dzień obraca; a światłość skraca się dla ciemości.
They change the night into day, saying ‘The light is near’ in the presence of darkness.
13 Jeźlibym czego oczekiwał, grób będzie domem moim, a w ciemnościach uścielę łoże moje. (Sheol h7585)
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness, (Sheol h7585)
14 Do dołu rzekę: Ojcem moim jesteś; a do robaków: Wy jesteście matką moją, i siostrą moją.
if I have said to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ and ‘My sister,’
15 Bo gdzież teraz jest nadzieja moja? a oczekiwanie moje któż ogląda?
where then is my hope? As for my hope, who will see it?
