Wyjścia 19
1 Miesiąca trzeciego po wyjściu synów Izraelskich z ziemi Egipskiej, w tenże dzień przyszli na puszczą Synaj.
In the third month after the children of Israel [God prevails] had gone out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn].
2 Bo ruszywszy się z Rafidym, i przyszedłszy aż na puszczą Synaj, położyli się obozem na puszczy, i rozbił tam Izrael namioty przeciw górze.
When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn], they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel [God prevails] encamped before the mountain.
3 A Mojżesz wstąpił do Boga, i zawołał nań Pan z góry, mówiąc: Tak powiesz domowi Jakóbowemu, i oznajmisz synom Izraelskim:
Moses [Drawn out] went up to God, and Adonai called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob [Supplanter], and tell the children of Israel [God prevails]:
4 Wyście widzieli, com uczynił Egipczanom, i jakom was nosił niby na skrzydłach orłowych, i przywiodłem was do siebie.
‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
5 Przetoż teraz jeźli słuchając posłuszni będziecie głosu memu, i strzec będziecie przymierza mego, będziecie mi własnością nad wszystkie narody; chociaż moja jest wszystka ziemia.
Now therefore, if you will indeed sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice, and sh'ma ·hear obey· keep my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, then you shall be my own segulah ·special treasure· from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
6 A wy będziecie mi królestwem kapłańskiem, i narodem świętym. Teć są słowa, które mówić będziesz do synów Izraelskich.
and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel [God prevails].”
7 Przyszedłszy tedy Mojżesz zwołał starszych z ludu, i przełożył im wszystkie te słowa, które mu rozkazał Pan.
Moses [Drawn out] came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Adonai enjoined him.
8 I odpowiedział wszystek lud, spólnie mówiąc: Wszystko, co Pan rzekł, uczynimy. I odniósł Mojżesz słowa ludu do Pana.
All the people answered together, and said, “All that Adonai has spoken we will do.” Moses [Drawn out] reported the words of the people to Adonai.
9 I rzekł Pan do Mojżesza: Oto, Ja, przyjdę do ciebie w gęstym obłoku, aby słuchał lud, gdy będę mówił z tobą, ażeby też wierzyli tobie na wieki; albowiem opowiedział był Mojżesz słowa ludu onego Panu.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may sh'ma ·hear obey· when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses [Drawn out] told the words of the people to Adonai.
10 Mówił zaś Pan do Mojżesza: Idź do ludu, a poświęć je dziś i jutro, a niech wypiorą szaty swoje.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
11 I niech będą gotowi na dzień trzeci; albowiem trzeciego dnia zstąpi Pan przed oczyma wszystkiego ludu na górę Synaj.
and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Adonai will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai [Thorn].
12 I zamierzysz granice ludowi w około, mówiąc: Strzeżcie się, abyście nie wstępowali na górę, ani się dotykali brzegu jej; wszelki, kto by się dotknął góry, śmiercią umrze.
You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
13 Nie tknie się go ręka, ale kamieniem ukamionują go; albo strzelając zastrzelą go; bądź bydlę, bądź człowiek, nie będzie żył. Gdy przewłocznie trąbić będą, niech wstąpią na górę.
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”
14 Zstąpił tedy Mojżesz z góry do ludu, i poświęcił lud; a uprali szaty swoje.
Moses [Drawn out] went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15 I mówił do ludu: Bądźcie gotowi na dzień trzeci, nie przystępujcie do żon.
He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”
16 Stało się tedy dnia trzeciego rano, że były grzmienia, i błyskawice, i gęsty obłok nad górą, i głos trąby bardzo potężny; a bał się wszystek lud, który był w obozie.
On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud shofar ·ram horn·; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 I wywiódł Mojżesz lud na przeciwko Bogu z obozu, a stanęli pod samą górą.
Moses [Drawn out] led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
18 A góra Synaj kurzyła się wszystka, przeto, iż zstąpił na nią Pan w ogniu; i występował dym z niej, jako dym z pieca, i trzęsła się wszystka góra bardzo.
All of Mount Sinai [Thorn] smoked, because Adonai descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19 A gdy się głos trąby im dalej tem bardziej rozlegał, Mojżesz mówił, a Bóg mu odpowiadał głosem.
When the sound of the shofar ·ram horn· grew louder and louder, Moses [Drawn out] spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20 I zstąpił Pan na górę Synaj, na wierzch góry, i wezwał Pan Mojżesza na wierzch góry, i wstąpił tam Mojżesz.
Adonai came down on Mount Sinai [Thorn], to the top of the mountain. Adonai called Moses [Drawn out] to the top of the mountain, and Moses [Drawn out] went up.
21 Zaczem rzekł Pan do Mojżesza: Zstąp, przestrzeż lud, by snać nie przestąpili kresu, chcąc Pana widzieć, aby ich nie padło wiele:
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Adonai to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 Nawet i kapłani, którzy przystępują do Pana, niech się poświęcą, by ich snać nie potracił Pan.
Let the priests also, who come near to Adonai, sanctify themselves, lest Adonai break out on them.”
23 I rzekł Mojżesz do Pana: Nie będzie lud mógł wnijść na górę Synaj, ponieważeś ty nas przestrzegł, mówiąć: Ogranicz górę, a poświęć ją.
Moses [Drawn out] said to Adonai, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai [Thorn], for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”
24 Któremu Pan rzekł: Idź, zstąp, a zaś tu wstąpisz, ty i Aaron z tobą: lecz kapłani i lud niech nie przestępują kresu, aby wstąpili do Pana, by ich snać nie potracił.
Adonai said to him, “Go down! You shall bring Aaron [Light-bringer] up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to Adonai, lest he break out against them.”
25 Tedy zstąpił Mojżesz do ludu i powiedział im to.
So Moses [Drawn out] went down to the people, and told them.
