II Samuela 5
1 Zeszły się tedy wszystkie pokolenia Izraelskie do Dawida do Hebronu, i rzekły, mówiąc: Oto, my jesteśmy kość twoja i ciało twoje.
And all the tribes of Israel come to David to Chebron, and they said to him, Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh.
2 A przeszłych czasów, gdy Saul był królem nad nami, tyś wywodził i przywodził Izraela. Nad to rzekł Pan do ciebie: Ty będziesz pasł lud mój Izraelski, a ty będziesz wodzem nad Izraelem.
And heretofore Saul being king over us, you was he that did lead out and bring in Israel: and the Lord said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be for a leader to my people Israel.
3 A tak wszyscy starsi Izraelscy przyszli do króla do Hebronu; i uczynił z nimi król Dawid przymierze w Hebronie przed Panem; i pomazali Dawida za króla nad Izraelem.
And all the elders of Israel come to the king to Chebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Chebron before the Lord; and they anoint David king over all Israel.
4 Trzydzieści lat było Dawidowi, gdy począł królować, a królował przez czterdzieści lat.
David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5 W Hebronie królował nad Judą przez siedm lat i przez sześć miesięcy, a w Jeruzalemie królował przez trzydzieści i trzy lata nad wszystkim Izraelem i nad Judą.
Seven years and six months he reigned in Chebron over Juda, and thirty-three years he reigned over all Israel and Juda in Jerusalem.
6 A tak poszedł król i mężowie jego do Jeruzalemu przeciw Jebuzejczykowi mieszkającmu w onej ziemi, który rzekł do Dawida, mówiąc; Nie wnijdziesz sam, aż zniesiesz ślepe i chrome, jakoby mówili: Nie wnijdzie tu Dawid.
And David and his men, departed to Jerusalem, to the Jebusite that inhabited the land: and it was said to David, You shall not come in hither: for the blind and the lame withstood him, saying, David shall not come in hither.
7 Wszakże wziął Dawid zamek Syoński, a toć jest miasto Dawidowe.
And David took first the hold of Sion: this [is] the city of David.
8 Bo rzekł był Dawid onego dnia: Ktobykolwiek zabił Jebuzejczyka, a wszedłby na rynny, a pobił te ślepe i chrome, które ma w nienawiści dusza Dawidowa, postanowię go hetmanem. Dla tegoż mawiano: Ślepy i chromy nie wnijdzie do tego domu.
And David said on that day, Every one that smites the Jebusite, let him attack with the dagger both the lame and the blind, and those that hate the soul of David. Therefore they say, The lame and the blind shall not enter into the house of the Lord.
9 I mieszkał Dawid na onym zamku a przezwał go miastem Dawidowem, a pobudował je Dawid wszędy w koło od Mello, i wewnątrz.
And David lived in the hold, and it was called the city of David, and he built the city itself round about from the citadel, and [he built] his own house.
10 A Dawid idąc postępował i rósł; bo Pan Bóg zastępów był z nim.
And David advanced and became great, and the Lord Almighty [was] with him.
11 Tedy posłał Hyram, król Tyrski, posły do Dawida, i drzewa cedrowe, i cieśle, i kamienniki, i murarze, którzy zbudowali dom Dawidowi.
And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and carpenters, and stone-masons: and they built a house for David.
12 I poznał Dawid, iż go utwierdził Pan za króla nad Izraelem, a iż wywyższył królestwo jego dla ludu swego Izraelskiego.
And David knew that the Lord had prepared him to be king over Israel, and that his kingdom was exalted for the sake of his people Israel.
13 I napojmował sobie Dawid jeszcze więcej założnic i żon z Jeruzalemu przyszedłszy z Hebronu, a narodziło się więcej Dawidowi synów i córek.
And David took again wives and concubines out of Jerusalem, after he came from Chebron: and David had still more sons and daughters born to him.
14 A teć są imiona tych, którzy mu się urodzili w Jeruzalemie: Samma, i Sobab, i Natan, i Salomon.
And these [are] the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem; Sammus, and Sobab, and Nathan, and Solomon.
15 I Ibchar, i Elisua, i Nefeg, i Jafija.
And Ebear, and Elisue, and Naphec, and Jephies.
16 I Elisama, i Elijada, i Elifelet.
And Elisama, and Elidae, and Eliphalath, Samae, Jessibath, Nathan, Galamaan, Jebaar, Theesus, Eliphalat, Naged, Naphec, Janathan, Leasamys, Baalimath, Eliphaath.
17 A usłyszawszy Filistynowie, że pomazano Dawida za króla nad Izraelem, ruszyli się wszyscy Filistynowie, żeby szukali Dawida; co gdy usłyszał Dawid, ustąpił na zamek.
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over Israel; and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the strong hold.
18 Tedy Filistynowie przyciągnąwszy, rozpostarli się w dolinie Refaim.
And the Philistines came, and assembled in the valley of the giants.
19 I radził się Dawid Pana, mówiąc: Mamli iść przeciwko Filistynom? podaszli je w ręce moje? Odpowiedział Pan Dawidowi: Idź, bo pewnie podam Filistyny w ręce twoje.
And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and will you deliver them into my hands? and the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.
20 A tak przyciągnął Dawid do Baal Perazym, i poraził je tam Dawid i rzekł: Rozerwał Pan nieprzyjacioły moje przedemną, jako się rozrywają wody. Przetoż nazwał imię miejsca onego Baal Perazym.
And David came from Upper Breaches, and struck the Philistines there: and David said, The Lord has destroyed the hostile Philistines before me, as water is dispersed; therefore the name of that place was called Over Breaches.
21 I zostawili tam ryte swe obrazy, które popalił Dawid i mężowie jego.
And they leave there their gods, and David and his men with him took them.
22 Znowu jeszcze przyciągnęli Filistynowie, i rozpostarli się w dolinie Refaim.
And the Philistines came up yet again, and assembled in the valley of Giants.
23 I pytał się Dawid Pana, który odpowiedział: Nie pójdziesz przeciwko nim; ale je obtoczywszy z tyłu natrzesz na nie przeciwko morwom.
And David enquired of the Lord: and the Lord said, You shall not go up to meet them: turn from them, and you shall meet them near the place of weeping.
24 A gdy usłyszysz, iż zaszumią wierzchy morwów, tedy się ruszysz, gdyż na ten czas pójdzie Pan przed tobą, aby poraził wojska Filistyńskie.
And it shall come to pass when you hear the sound of a clashing together from the grove of weeping, then you shall go down to them, for then the Lord shall go forth before you to make havoc in the battle with the Philistines.
25 I uczynił Dawid tak jako mu rozkazał Pan, a poraził Filistyny od Gabaa, aż kędy chodzą do Gazer.
And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gabaon as far as the land of Gazera.
