Łukasza 4
1 Po chrzcie, napełniony Duchem Świętym, Jezus opuścił okolice Jordanu. Duch poprowadził Go na pustynię, gdzie przebywał przez czterdzieści dni. Tam też kusił Go diabeł.
And, Jesus, full of Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the desert,
2 Przez cały ten czas nic nie jadł, aż w końcu poczuł głód.
forty days, —being tempted by the adversary; and he did eat nothing in those days, —and, when they were concluded, he hungered.
3 Wtedy diabeł powiedział do Niego: —Jeśli rzeczywiście jesteś Synem Bożym, rozkaż temu kamieniowi, aby zamienił się w chleb.
And the adversary said to him—If thou art God’s, Son, speak unto this stone; that it become bread.
4 —Pismo uczy: „Nie tylko chlebem żywi się człowiek”—odpowiedział Jezus.
And Jesus made answer unto him—It is written: Not, on bread alone, shall, man, live.
5 Następnie diabeł wziął Go na górę, skąd w mgnieniu oka pokazał Mu wszystkie królestwa świata
And, leading him up, he shewed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth, in a moment of time.
6 i zaproponował: —Dam Ci te wszystkie potężne królestwa świata z całym ich przepychem. Do mnie należą i mogę je dać, komu tylko zechcę.
And the adversary said to him—Unto thee, will I give this authority, all together, and their glory; because, unto me, hath it been delivered up, and, to whomsoever I please, I give it:
7 Jeśli oddasz mi pokłon, wszystko będzie Twoje.
Thou, therefore, if thou wilt worship before me, it shall all, be thine.
8 —Pismo uczy: „Pokłon i cześć oddawał będziesz Bogu, swojemu Panu, i tylko Jemu będziesz posłuszny”—odrzekł na to Jezus.
And, answering, Jesus said to him—It is written: The Lord thy God, shalt thou worship, and, unto him alone, render divine service.
9 W końcu diabeł przeniósł Go do Jerozolimy i postawił na szczycie świątyni. —Jeśli rzeczywiście jesteś Synem Bożym, skocz w dół—kusił.
And he led him into Jerusalem, and set him upon the pinnacle of the temple, —and said [to him]—If thou art God’s, Son, cast thyself, from hence, down;
10 —Przecież Pismo mówi: „Bóg rozkaże swoim aniołom, aby chroniły Cię.
for it is written—Unto his messengers, will he give command concerning thee, to keep vigilant watch over thee, —
11 I będą Cię nosić na rękach, abyś nie skaleczył nogi o kamień”.
And, On hands, will they take thee up, lest once thou strike, against a stone, thy foot.
12 —To samo Pismo uczy: „Nie będziesz wystawiał Boga na próbę”—odpowiedział Jezus.
And Jesus, answering, said to him—It is said: Thou shalt not put to the test the Lord thy God.
13 Diabeł widząc, że nic nie wskóra, na jakiś czas pozostawił Jezusa w spokoju.
And, having concluded every temptation, the adversary departed from him until a fitting season.
14 Jezus, pełen mocy Ducha Świętego, powrócił do Galilei.
And Jesus returned, in the power of the Spirit, into Galilee; and, a report, went out along the whole of the region, concerning him;
15 Dzięki swoim wystąpieniom w synagogach stał się wkrótce znany w całej okolicy i wszyscy ludzie chwalili Go.
and, he, began teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Gdy przybył do rodzinnego Nazaretu, jak zwykle w szabat udał się do synagogi. Podczas nabożeństwa wstał, aby przeczytać tekst z Pisma.
And he came into Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and entered, according to his custom, on the sabbath day, into the synagogue, —and stood up to read.
17 Podano Mu księgę proroka Izajasza, a On otworzył ją i przeczytał następujący fragment:
And there was handed to him a scroll of the prophet Isaiah; and unfolding the scroll, he found the place where it was written:
18 —„Duch Pana jest ze Mną. On wybrał Mnie, abym przekazał biednym dobrą nowinę. Posłał Mnie, abym ogłosił, że więźniowie odzyskają wolność, niewidomi—wzrok, a zniewoleni będą uwolnieni od tych, którzy ich gnębią.
The Spirit of the Lord, is upon me, because he hath anointed me—to tell glad tidings unto the destitute; He hath sent me forth, —To proclaim, to captives, a release, and, to the blind, a recovering of sight, —to send away the crushed, with a release;
19 Mam również obwieścić wszystkim, że nadszedł czas szczególnej łaski od Pana”.
To proclaim the welcome year of the Lord.
20 Potem zamknął księgę, oddał ją słudze i usiadł. A wszyscy obecni w synagodze z napięciem wpatrywali się w Niego.
And, folding up the scroll, he handed it to the attendant, and sat down; and, the eyes of all, in the synagogue, were intently fixed upon him;
21 Wtedy zaczął mówić: —Dziś jesteście świadkami spełnienia się tych słów!
and he began to be saying to them—This day, is fulfilled this scripture, in your ears.
22 Słuchający byli pełni uznania, ale dziwili się, że wypowiedział tak niezwykłe słowa. —Jak to możliwe?—zastanawiali się. —Przecież to syn Józefa!
And, all, were bearing witness to him, and marvelling at the words of favour which were proceeding out of his mouth; and they were saying—Is not, this, the, son of Joseph?
23 On jednak powiedział do nich: —Być może przypomnicie mi przysłowie: „Lekarzu, wylecz najpierw samego siebie”. Powiecie też: „Tyle słyszeliśmy o cudach, których dokonałeś w Kafarnaum. Zrób coś i dla swojego rodzinnego miasta”.
And he said unto them—By all means, ye will speak to me this similitude: Physician! heal, thyself, —Whatsoever things we have heard of coming to pass in Capernaum, do here also, in thine own country.
24 Posłuchajcie uważnie: Dotychczas żaden prorok nie cieszył się uznaniem w swojej własnej ojczyźnie.
And he said—Verily, I say unto you, No prophet, is, welcome, in his own country,
25 Chociaż wiele wdów żyło w Izraelu za czasów proroka Eliasza i wszystkie potrzebowały wsparcia w dniach głodu, gdy przez trzy i pół roku nie spadła ani jedna kropla deszczu,
And, of a truth, I say unto you—Many widows, were in the days of Elijah, in Israel, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there came a great famine upon all the land;
26 to Eliasz nie został posłany do żadnej z nich. Uczynił natomiast cud, aby pomóc obcej wdowie z Sarepty w Sydonie.
And, unto none of them, was Elijah sent, save unto Sarepta of Sidonia, unto a woman that was a widow.
27 W podobnej sytuacji był prorok Elizeusz, który uzdrowił Syryjczyka—Naamana, choć w Izraelu wielu trędowatych również potrzebowało pomocy.
And, many lepers, were in Israel, in the time of Elisha the prophet, and, not one of them, was cleansed, save Naaman the Syrian.
28 Na te słowa wszyscy siedzący w synagodze wpadli w szał.
And all were filled with wrath, in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
29 Zerwali się z miejsc, chwycili Jezusa i zaciągnęli na zbocze skalistego wzgórza z zamiarem strącenia Go w przepaść.
And, rising up, they thrust him forth outside the city, and led him as far as a brow of the hill on which their city was built, —so that they might throw him down headlong.
30 On jednak przeszedł przez sam środek zbiegowiska i oddalił się.
But, he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.
31 Stamtąd udał do galilejskiego miasteczka Kafarnaum i w szabat zaczął nauczać w synagodze.
And he came down into Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the sabbath;
32 Słuchający Go byli pełni zdumienia, bo Jezus przemawiał jak ktoś, kto ma władzę nad ludźmi.
and they were being struck with astonishment at his teaching, because, with authority, was his word.
33 Nagle jakiś człowiek, opanowany przez demona, zaczął wykrzykiwać:
And, in the synagogue, was a man having a spirit of an impure demon; and he cried out with a loud voice—
34 —Dlaczego nas niepokoisz, Jezusie z Nazaretu? Czy przyszedłeś nas zniszczyć? Wiem, kim jesteś! Świętym Synem Boga!
Let be! What have we in common with thee, O Jesus, Nazarene! Hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee, who thou art, —The Holy One of God.
35 —Milcz i wyjdź z tego człowieka!—rozkazał Jezus duchowi. Ten powalił człowieka na ziemię i wyszedł, nie wyrządzając mu jednak żadnej krzywdy.
And Jesus rebuked it, saying—Hold thy peace! and go forth from him. And the demon, throwing him into the midst, went forth from him, doing him no hurt.
36 Świadkowie tego zdarzenia oniemieli z wrażenia, a następnie komentowali to, co ujrzeli: —W Jego słowach jest niesamowita moc—słuchają Go nawet złe duchy!
And amazement came upon all, and they began to converse one with another, saying—What is this word, that, with authority and power, he giveth orders unto the impure spirits, and they go forth?
37 A wieść o tym wydarzeniu lotem błyskawicy obiegła całą okolicę.
And a noise concerning him began to go out into every place of the country around.
38 Jezus wyszedł z synagogi i udał się do domu Szymona i Andrzeja. Teściowa Szymona miała akurat wysoką gorączkę. Prosili więc Go, aby ją uzdrowił.
And, rising up, from the synagogue, he went into the house of Simon. Now, the mother-in-law of Simon, was in distress with a great fever; and they made request to him concerning her.
39 Jezus podszedł do chorej i rozkazał, aby gorączka ją opuściła. Temperatura natychmiast spadła, a teściowa wstała i przygotowała im posiłek.
And, standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her; and, instantly arising, she began to minister unto them.
40 Wieczorem, już po zachodzie słońca, mieszkańcy miasteczka przyprowadzili do Jezusa wszystkich chorych, jacy tylko się tam znajdowali, a byli wśród nich cierpiący na wiele różnych dolegliwości. On zaś kładł na nich ręce i wszystkich uzdrawiał.
But, as the sun was going in, they one and all, as many as had any sick with divers diseases, brought them unto him; and, he, upon each one of them laying, his hands, was curing them.
41 A wiele demonów, na rozkaz Jezusa, opuściło swoje ofiary, wołając: —Jesteś Synem Boga! Demony wiedziały bowiem, że jest Mesjaszem. On jednak zakazywał im cokolwiek mówić.
And demons also were going forth from many; crying aloud, and saying—Thou, art the Son of God. And, rebuking them, he suffered them not be talking; because they knew him to be, The Christ.
42 Następnego dnia, wczesnym rankiem, udał się na pustynię. Ludzie wszędzie Go szukali, a gdy Go znaleźli, prosili, by ich nie opuszczał i pozostał w Kafarnaum.
And, when it was day, going forth, he journeyed into a desert place; and, the multitudes, were seeking after him, and they came unto him, and would have detained him, that he might not depart from them.
43 On jednak odpowiedział im: —Także w innych miastach muszę głosić dobrą nowinę o królestwie Bożym, bo po to zostałem posłany.
But, he, said unto them—To the other cities also, I must needs tell the good-news of the kingdom of God, because, hereunto, was I sent forth.
44 I wędrując po całej Judei, przemawiał w synagogach.
And he was proclaiming in the cities of Judaea.
