متی 10

1 آنگاه عیسی دوازده شاگردش را نزد خود فرا خواند و به ایشان اقتدار داد تا ارواح پلید را بیرون کنند و هر نوع بیماری و مرض را شفا دهند.

Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them power to throw out evil spirits, and to heal all kinds of diseases and sicknesses.

2 این است نامهای آن دوازده رسول: شمعون (معروف به پِطرُس) و آندریاس (برادر پطرس)؛ یعقوب (پسر زِبِدی) و یوحنا (برادر یعقوب)

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon, (also called Peter), Andrew his brother, James the son of Zebedee, John his brother,

3 فیلیپ، بَرتولما، توما، متی (باجگیر معروف)، یعقوب (پسر حلفی)، تَدّای،

Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew the tax-collector, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddeus,

4 شمعون (عضو حزب فداییان) و یهودا اِسخریوطی (کسی که در آخر به عیسی خیانت کرد).

Simon the revolutionary, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.

5 عیسی این دوازده رسول را با این دستورالعمل‌ها به مأموریت فرستاد و به ایشان فرمود: «نزد غیریهودیان و سامریان نروید،

These Twelve Jesus sent out, telling them, “Don't go to the foreigners, or to any Samaritan city.

6 بلکه فقط نزد قوم اسرائیل بروید که گوسفندان گمشدهٔ خدا هستند.

You are to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 بروید و به ایشان اعلام کنید که ملکوت آسمان نزدیک است.

Wherever you go, tell the people, ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’

8 بیماران را شفا دهید، مردگان را زنده کنید، جذامی‌ها را شفا بخشید، و ارواح پلید را از وجود افراد بیرون کنید. مفت دریافت کرده‌اید، مفت هم بدهید.

Heal those who are sick. Resurrect the dead. Cure the lepers. Drive out demons. You received freely, so give freely!

9 در کمربندهایتان، سکه‌های طلا یا نقره یا مس با خود نبرید،

Don't carry any gold, silver, or copper coins in your pockets,

10 حتی کوله‌بار و کفش و لباس اضافی و چوبدستی نیز برندارید. بگذارید مردم از شما پذیرایی کنند، زیرا کارگر مستحق مزد خویش است.

or a bag for your journey, or two cloaks, or sandals, or a walking stick, for a worker deserves to be supported.

11 هرگاه وارد شهر یا دهکده‌ای می‌شوید، شخص شایسته‌ای را بجویید، و تا هنگام ترک آن محل، در خانه‌اش بمانید.

Wherever you go, whatever town or village, ask for someone who lives according to good principles, and remain there until you leave.

12 وقتی وارد خانه‌ای می‌شوید، برای آن خیر و برکت بطلبید.

When you enter the house, give it your blessing.

13 اگر معلوم شود که آن خانه شایسته است، خیر و برکتی که برای آن طلبیدید، بر آن قرار خواهد گرفت. اگر شایسته نباشد، برکت به خودتان باز خواهد گشت.

If the home deserves it, let your peace rest on it, but if it doesn't deserve it, let your peace return to you.

14 اگر اهل خانه‌ای یا شهری به شما اجازۀ ورود ندادند، و یا به سخنانتان گوش نسپردند، گرد و خاک آنجا را به هنگام ترک محل، از پاهایتان بتکانید.

If someone doesn't welcome you, and refuses to listen to what you have to say, then leave that house or that town, shaking its dust off your feet as you go.

15 براستی به شما می‌گویم که در روز داوری، وضع شهرهای فاسد سُدوم و غموره بهتر از وضع چنین شهری خواهد بود.

I tell you the truth, it will be better for Sodom and Gomorrah at the Day of Judgment than for that town!

16 «من شما را همچون گوسفندان به میان گرگها می‌فرستم. پس مانند مار، هوشیار باشید و مثل کبوتر، بی‌آزار.

Look, I'm sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

17 اما مراقب باشید، زیرا مردم شما را گرفته، به محاکم خواهند سپرد، و در کنیسه‌ها شلّاق خواهند زد.

Watch out for those who will hand you over to be tried by town councils and will whip you in their synagogues.

18 بله، به خاطر من شما را برای محاکمه نزد والیان و پادشاهان خواهند برد. اما این فرصتی خواهد بود تا دربارهٔ من به فرمانروایان و غیریهودیان شهادت دهید.

You will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, to witness to them and to the foreigners.

19 «وقتی شما را بازداشت می‌کنند، نگران نباشید که چگونه پاسخ دهید یا چه بگویید، زیرا کلمات مناسب به‌موقع به شما عطا خواهد شد.

But when they put you on trial, don't worry about how you should speak or what you should say, because you'll be told what to say at the right time.

20 زیرا این شما نیستید که سخن خواهید گفت، بلکه روح پدر شماست که از طریق شما سخن خواهد گفت.

For it isn't you who will speak but the spirit of the Father will speak through you.

21 «برادر، برادر خود را و پدر، فرزندش را تسلیم مرگ خواهد کرد. فرزندان بر ضد والدین خود برخاسته، سبب قتل آنان خواهند شد.

Brother will betray brother and have him killed, and a father will do the same to his child. Children will rebel against their parents, and have them put to death.

22 همۀ مردم به خاطر من از شما متنفر خواهند شد. اما هر که تا به آخر، زحمات را تحمل کند، نجات خواهد یافت.

Everyone will hate you because you follow me, but those who endure until the end will be saved.

23 «هرگاه شما را در شهری آزار رسانند، به شهری دیگر بگریزید. براستی به شما می‌گویم که پیش از آنکه بتوانید به تمام شهرهای اسرائیل بروید، پسر انسان خواهد آمد.

When you're persecuted in one town, run away to the next. I'm telling the truth: you won't finish going to the towns of Israel before the Son of man comes.

24 شاگرد از استاد خود و غلام از اربابش والاتر نیستند.

Disciples are not more important than their teacher; servants are not more important than their master.

25 کافی است که شاگرد مانند استاد خود شود، و غلام نیز مانند اربابش. اگر مرا که سرپرست خانواده هستم، رئیس ارواح پلید نامیدند، اعضای خانواده‌ام را با چه نامهای بدتری خواهند خواند.

Disciples should be satisfied to become like their teacher, and servants like their master. If the head of the house has been called the head demon Beelzebub, then the members of his household will be demonized even more!

26 ولی از آنان که شما را تهدید می‌کنند نترسید، زیرا زمان آن خواهد رسید که هر آنچه پنهان است، آشکار شود، و همگان از آنچه مخفی است، آگاه گردند.

So don't be frightened of them, for there's nothing covered that won't be exposed, and nothing hidden that won't be made known.

27 «سخنانی که اکنون در تاریکی به شما می‌گویم، آنها را در روز روشن بیان کنید. هر چه را که در گوش شما می‌گویم، بر بامها اعلام کنید تا همه بشنوند!

What I tell you here in the dark, declare when it's light, and what you hear whispered in your ear, shout from the rooftops.

28 «نترسید از کسانی که می‌توانند فقط جسمتان را بکُشند، اما نمی‌توانند به روحتان آسیبی برسانند. فقط از خدا بترسید که قادر است هم بدن و هم روح شما را در جهنم هلاک کند. (Geenna g1067)

Don't be afraid of those who can kill you physically, but can't kill you spiritually. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy you physically and spiritually in the fires of destruction. (Geenna g1067)

29 قیمت دو گنجشک چقدر است؟ یک پول سیاه. اما حتی یک گنجشک هم بدون آگاهی پدر شما بر زمین نمی‌افتد.

Aren't two sparrows sold for just one penny? But not a single one of them falls to the ground without your Father knowing about it.

30 حتی موهای سر شما نیز شمارش شده است.

Even the hairs on your head have all been counted.

31 پس نگران نباشید، زیرا ارزش شما بیشتر از هزاران گنجشک است.

So don't worry—you're worth more than many sparrows!

32 «هر که نزد مردم مرا اقرار کند، من نیز او را در حضور پدر آسمانی خود اقرار خواهم کرد.

Anyone who publicly declares their commitment to me, I will also declare my commitment to them before my Father in heaven.

33 اما هر که مرا نزد مردم انکار کند، من نیز در حضور پدر آسمانی خود، او را انکار خواهم کرد.

But anyone who publicly denies me, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

34 «گمان مبرید که آمده‌ام صلح به زمین بیاورم! نیامده‌ام تا صلح بیاورم، بلکه تا شمشیر بیاورم.

Don't think I've come to bring peace on earth. I haven't come to bring peace, but a sword.

35 من آمده‌ام تا”پسر را علیه پدرش، دختر را علیه مادرش، و عروس را علیه مادرشوهرش برانگیزم.

I've come ‘to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

36 به‌طوری که اهل خانۀ شخص، دشمنان او خواهند بود.“

Your enemies will be those of your own family!’

37 «اگر پدر یا مادر خود را بیش از من دوست بدارید، شایسته نیستید که از آنِ من باشید؛ و اگر پسر یا دختر خود را بیش از من دوست بدارید، شایسته نیستید که از آنِ من باشید.

If you love your father or mother more than me you don't deserve to be mine, and if you love your son or daughter more than me you don't deserve to be mine.

38 هر که حاضر نباشد صلیب خود را بردارد و از من پیروی کند، شایسته نیست که از آنِ من باشد.

If you don't pick up your cross and follow me you don't deserve to be mine.

39 هر که بخواهد جان خود را حفظ کند، آن را از دست خواهد داد؛ اما هر که جانش را به خاطر من از دست بدهد، آن را خواهد یافت.

If you try to save your life, you will lose it, but if you lose your life because of me you will save it.

40 «هر که شما را بپذیرد، مرا پذیرفته است؛ و هر که مرا بپذیرد، فرستندۀ مرا پذیرفته است.

Those who welcome you welcome me, and those who welcome me welcome the one that sent me.

41 هر که پیامبری را به‌عنوان فرستاده‌ای از سوی خدا بپذیرد، خود نیز پاداش یک پیامبر را دریافت خواهد کرد، و هر که شخص صالحی را به خاطر صالح بودنش بپذیرد، پاداشی مانند پاداش او خواهد یافت.

Those who welcome a prophet because that's what they are will receive the same reward as a prophet. Those who welcome someone who does right will receive the same reward as someone who does right.

42 و اگر کسی به این کوچکان، از آن رو که شاگرد منند، حتی یک لیوان آب خنک بدهد، براستی به شما می‌گویم، بی‌پاداش نخواهد ماند.»

I tell you the truth, those who give a drink of cool water to the least important of my disciples will definitely not miss out on their reward.”
