| در سال پانزدهم فرمانروایی تیبریوس قیصر روم، هنگامی که پُنتیوس پیلاتُس والی یهودیه بود، هیرودیس حاکم جلیل، فیلیپ برادر هیرودیس حاکم ایتوریه و تراخونیتس، و لیسانیوس حاکم آبلیه، | 1 |
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar [Ruler], Pontius Pilate [Armed with javelin] being governor of Judea [Praise], and Herod [Heroic] being tetrarch (one of four co-emperors) of Galilee [District, Circuit], and his brother Philip [Loves horses] tetrarch (one of four co-emperors) of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch (one of four co-emperors) of Abilene,
| و حنّا و قیافا کاهنان اعظم بودند، کلام خدا در بیابان بر یحیی، پسر زکریا، نازل شد. | 2 |
in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out], ha D'var Elohim · the Word of God· came to John [Yah is gracious], the son of Zacharias [Remembered by Yah], in the wilderness.
| پس یحیی رسالت خود را آغاز کرده، در مناطق اطراف رود اردن می‌گشت و به مردم موعظه می‌کرد که تعمید بگیرند تا نشان دهند که از گناهانشان دست کشیده‌اند و به سوی خدا بازگشته‌اند تا گناهانشان آمرزیده شود. | 3 |
He came into all the region around the Jordan [Descender], preaching the baptism of teshuvah ·complete repentance· for remission of sins.
| یحیی همان کسی است که اشعیای نبی درباره‌اش گفته بود: «او صدایی است در بیابان که بانگ بر می‌آوَرَد: راه را برای آمدن خداوند آماده کنید! جاده را برای او هموار سازید! | 4 |
As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of MarYah [Master Yahweh]. Make his paths straight.
| دره‌ها پر خواهند شد؛ کوهها و تپه‌ها هموار خواهند گردید! راههای کج راست و جاده‌های ناهموار صاف خواهند شد. | 5 |
Every valley will be filled. Every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth.
| آنگاه همه مردم نجات خدا را خواهند دید.» | 6 |
Then all humanity will see God’s method of deliverance.’”
| بسیاری از مردم، برای تعمید نزد یحیی می‌آمدند. یکبار او به عده‌ای از ایشان گفت: «ای افعی‌زادگان، چه کسی به شما هشدار داد که از غضب آیندهٔ خدا بگریزید؟ | 7 |
He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
| رفتارتان باید نشان دهد که واقعاً توبه کرده‌اید یا نه. این فکر را نیز از سرتان بیرون کنید که چون جدّتان ابراهیم است، از غضب خدا در امان خواهید ماند، زیرا خدا می‌تواند از این سنگهای بیابان برای ابراهیم فرزندان به وجود آورد! | 8 |
Therefore produce fruits worthy of teshuvah ·complete repentance·, and don’t begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham [Father of a multitude] Avinu ·our Father·;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham [Father of a multitude] from these stones!
| اکنون تیشه بر ریشۀ درختان گذاشته شده است. هر درختی که ثمرۀ نیکو نیاورد، بریده شده، در آتش افکنده خواهد شد.» | 9 |
Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not produce good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.”
| از او پرسیدند: «چه باید بکنیم؟» | 10 |
The multitudes asked him, “What then must we do?”
| جواب داد: «اگر دو پیراهن دارید، یکی را بدهید به کسی که ندارد. اگر خوراک دارید، آن را با گرسنگان قسمت کنید.» | 11 |
He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”
| حتی باجگیران نیز که به بدنامی معروف بودند، برای تعمید نزد او آمدند و پرسیدند: «استاد، ما چه کنیم؟» | 12 |
Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”
| پاسخ داد: «بیش از آنچه دولت روم تعیین کرده است، از کسی باج و خراج نگیرید.» | 13 |
He said to them, “Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”
| عده‌ای از سربازان نیز از او پرسیدند: «ما چه کنیم؟» یحیی جواب داد: «با زور و تهدید از مردم پول نگیرید. تهمت ناروا به کسی نزنید و به حقوقی که می‌گیرید، قانع باشید.» | 14 |
Soldiers also asked him, saying, “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”
| در آن روزها، امید مردم به ظهور مسیح موعود قوت گرفته بود و همه از خود می‌پرسیدند که آیا یحیی همان مسیح است یا نه؟ | 15 |
As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John [Yah is gracious], whether perhaps he was the Messiah [Anointed one],
| یحیی در این باره به مردم گفت: «من شما را با آب تعمید می‌دهم. اما به‌زودی شخصی خواهد آمد که شما را با روح‌القدس و آتش تعمید خواهد داد. مقام او بالاتر از من است و من حتی شایسته نیستم که بند کفشهایش را باز کنم. | 16 |
John [Yah is gracious] answered them all, “I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in Ruach haKodesh [Spirit of the Holiness] and fire,
| او آماده است تا با چارشاخ خود، کاه را از گندم جدا سازد. سپس خرمنگاه خود را پاک ساخته، گندم را در انبار جمع خواهد کرد، اما کاه را در آتشی خاموش‌نشدنی خواهد سوزاند.» | 17 |
whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
| و یحیی با نصایحی اینچنین، کلام خدا را به مردم اعلام می‌کرد و مژده می‌داد که ملکوت خدا نزدیک است. | 18 |
Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,
| اما پس از اینکه یحیی آشکارا هیرودیس آنتیپاس را به سبب ازدواج با هیرودیا، زن برادر خود، و خطاهای فراوان دیگرش سرزنش کرد، | 19 |
but Herod [Heroic] the tetrarch (one of four co-emperors), being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod [Heroic] had done,
| هیرودیس او را به زندان انداخت و به این ترتیب، گناه دیگری بر گناهان بیشمار خود افزود. | 20 |
added this also to them all, that he shut up John [Yah is gracious] in prison.
| روزی، وقتی همه در حال تعمید گرفتن بودند، عیسی نیز تعمید گرفت. و چون مشغول دعا بود، آسمان گشوده شد، | 21 |
Now when all the people were baptized, Yeshua [Salvation] also had been baptized, and was praying. The sky was opened,
| و روح‌القدس به شکل کبوتری نازل شد و بر او قرار گرفت؛ ندایی نیز از آسمان در رسید که می‌گفت: «تو پسر محبوب من هستی! از تو بسیار خشنودم!» | 22 |
and Ruach haKodesh [Spirit of the Holiness] descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my agapetos ·beloved, esteemed· Son. In you I am well pleased.”
| عیسی حدود سی سال داشت که خدمت خود را آغاز کرد. مردم او را پسر یوسف می‌دانستند. پدر یوسف، هالی بود. | 23 |
Yeshua [Salvation] himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph [May he add], the son of Heli,
| پدر هالی، متات بود. پدر متات، لاوی بود. پدر لاوی، ملکی بود. پدر ملکی، ینا بود. پدر ینا، یوسف بود. | 24 |
the son of Matthat, the son of Levi [United with], the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph [May he add],
| پدر یوسف، متاتیا بود. پدر متاتیا، آموس بود. پدر آموس، ناحوم بود. پدر ناحوم، حسلی بود. پدر حسلی، نجی بود. | 25 |
the son of Mattathias [Gift of Yah], the son of Amos [Burden bearor], the son of Nahum [Comforter], the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
| پدر نجی، مائت بود. پدر مائت، متاتیا بود. پدر متاتیا، شمعی بود. پدر شمعی، یوسف بود. پدر یوسف، یهودا بود. پدر یهودا، یوحنا بود. | 26 |
the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias [Gift of Yah], the son of Semein, the son of Joseph [May he add], the son of Judah [Praised],
| پدر یوحنا، ریسا بود. پدر ریسا، زروبابِل بود. پدر زروبابِل، سالتی‌ئیل بود. پدر سالتی‌ئیل، نیری بود. | 27 |
the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,
| پدر نیری، ملکی بود. پدر ملکی، ادی بود. پدر ادی، قوسام بود. پدر قوسام، ایلمودام بود. پدر ایلمودام، عیر بود. | 28 |
the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmodam, the son of Er,
| پدر عیر، یوسی بود. پدر یوسی، العازار بود. پدر العازار، یوریم بود. پدر یوریم، متات بود. پدر متات، لاوی بود. | 29 |
the son of Jose, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi [United with],
| پدر لاوی، شمعون بود. پدر شمعون، یهودا بود. پدر یهودا، یوسف بود. پدر یوسف، یونان بود. پدر یونان، ایلیاقیم بود. | 30 |
the son of Simeon [Hearing], the son of Judah [Praised], the son of Joseph [May he add], the son of Jonan, the son of Eliakim,
| پدر ایلیاقیم، ملیا بود. پدر ملیا، مینان بود. پدر مینان، متاتا بود. پدر متاتا، ناتان بود. پدر ناتان، داوود بود. | 31 |
the son of Melea, the son of Menan, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David [Beloved],
| پدر داوود، یسی‌ٰ بود. پدر یسی‌ٰ، عوبید بود. پدر عوبید، بوعز بود. پدر بوعز، شلمون بود. پدر شلمون، نحشون بود. | 32 |
the son of Jesse [My husband], the son of Obed, the son of Boaz [In majesty, in strength], the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon,
| پدر نحشون، عمیناداب بود. پدر عمیناداب، ارام بود. پدر ارام، حصرون بود. پدر حصرون، فارص بود. پدر فارص، یهودا بود. | 33 |
the son of Amminadab, the son of Aram [Elevated], the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah [Praised],
| پدر یهودا، یعقوب بود. پدر یعقوب، اسحاق بود. پدر اسحاق، ابراهیم بود. پدر ابراهیم، تارح بود. پدر تارح، ناحور بود. | 34 |
the son of Jacob [Supplanter], the son of Isaac [Laughter], the son of Abraham [Father of a multitude], the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
| پدر ناحور، سروج بود. پدر سروج، رعو بود. پدر رعو، فِلِج بود. پدر فِلِج، عابر بود. پدر عابر، صالح بود. | 35 |
the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah,
| پدر صالح، قینان بود. پدر قینان، ارفکشاد بود. پدر ارفکشاد، سام بود. پدر سام، نوح بود. پدر نوح، لمک بود. | 36 |
the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem [Name], the son of Noah [Rest], the son of Lamech,
| پدر لمک، متوشالح بود. پدر متوشالح، خنوخ بود. پدر خنوخ، یارد بود. پدر یارد، مهلل‌ئیل بود. پدر مهلل‌ئیل، قینان بود. | 37 |
the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan,
| پدر قینان، انوش بود. پدر انوش، شیث بود. پدر شیث، آدم بود. پدر آدم، خدا خالق او بود. | 38 |
the son of Enos, the son of Seth [Appointed], the son of Adam [Human, Red earth], the son of God.
