1 مرز جنوبی زمینی که به حکم قرعه به بنی‌یوسف (افرایم و منسی) تعلق گرفت، از آن قسمت رود اردن که نزدیک اریحاست، یعنی از شرق چشمه‌های اریحا شروع می‌شد و از صحرا گذشته، به ناحیهٔ کوهستانی بیت‌ئیل می‌رسید.

The lot came out for the descendants of Joseph from the Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, even the wilderness, going up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel.

2 سپس از بیت‌ئیل به طرف لوز و عطاروت در سرحد سرزمین اَرکی‌ها امتداد می‌یافت و بعد به سمت مغرب به سرحد سرزمین یفلیطی‌ها تا کنار بیت‌حورون پایین و تا جازر کشیده شده، انتهایش به دریای مدیترانه می‌رسید. به این ترتیب قبیلۀ یوسف، یعنی منسی و افرایم میراث خود را گرفتند.

It went out from Bethel to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites at Ataroth;

and it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of Lower Beth Horon, even to Gezer; and ended at the sea.

The descendants of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.

5 این است زمینی که به خاندانهای قبیلهٔ افرایم داده شد: مرز شرقی این زمین از عطاروت ادار شروع می‌شد و از آنجا تا بیت‌حورون بالا امتداد می‌یافت و به دریای مدیترانه می‌رسید. مرز شمالی، از دریای مدیترانه شروع شده، به سمت مشرق کشیده می‌شد و از مکمیته می‌گذشت و به تعنت شیلوه و یانوحه می‌رسید.

This was the border of the descendants of Ephraim according to their families. The border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth Addar, to Upper Beth Horon.

The border went out westward at Michmethath on the north of Termah. The border turned about eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Janoah.

7 از یانوحه به سمت جنوب کشیده شده، به طرف عطاروت و نعره پایین آمده، به اریحا می‌رسید و به رود اردن منتهی می‌شد.

It went down from Janoah to Ataroth, to Naaratah, reached to Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

8 سپس از آنجا به طرف غرب کشیده شده، از تفوح به درهٔ قانه می‌رسید و به دریای مدیترانه ختم می‌شد. این است زمینی که به خاندانهای قبیلۀ افرایم به ملکیت داده شد.

From Tappuah the border went along westward to Wadi Kanah; and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Ephraim according to their families;

9 علاوه بر این، بعضی از شهرهایی که در سرحد خاک نصف قبیلهٔ منسی بود با روستاهای اطراف به قبیلهٔ افرایم داده شد.

together with the cities which were set apart for the descendants of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the descendants of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

10 ولی آنها کنعانیانی را که در جازر ساکن بودند بیرون نکردند و کنعانی‌ها تا امروز در میان قبیلهٔ افرایم به صورت برده زندگی می‌کنند.

They did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do forced labor.
