غزل غزلها 3

۱ 1 شبانگاه در بستر خود او را که جانم دوست می دارد طلبیدم. او را جستجو کردم امانیافتم.

On my couch during the nights I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.

۲ 2 گفتم الان برخاسته، در کوچه‌ها و شوارع شهر گشته، او را که جانم دوست می‌دارد خواهم طلبید. او را جستجو کردم اما نیافتم.

Oh, I must rise now, and go about in the city in the streets, and in the open places; I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.

۳ 3 کشیکچیانی که در شهر گردش می‌کنند مرایافتند. گفتم که «آیا محبوب جان مرا دیده‌اید؟»

Then found me the watchmen that walked about the city. “Have ye seen him whom my soul loveth?”

۴ 4 از ایشان چندان پیش نرفته بودم که او را که جانم دوست می‌دارد یافتم. و او را گرفته، رها نکردم تابه خانه مادر خود و به حجره والده خویش درآوردم.

Scarcely had I passed away from them, when I found him whom my soul loveth: I laid fast hold of him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that had born me.

۵ 5 ‌ای دختران اورشلیم، شما را به غزالها وآهوهای صحرا قسم می‌دهم که محبوب مرا تاخودش نخواهد بیدار مکنید و برمینگیزانید.

I adjure you, ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye awaken not, nor excite my love, till it please [to come of itself].—

۶ 6 این کیست که مثل ستونهای دود از بیابان برمی آید وبه مر و بخور و به همه عطریات تاجران معطراست؟

Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all spicy powders of the merchant?

۷ 7 اینک تخت روان سلیمان است که شصت جبار از جباران اسرائیل به اطراف آن می‌باشند.

Behold, it is the bed, which is Solomon's, sixty valiant men are round about it, of the valiant ones of Israel.

۸ 8 همگی ایشان شمشیر گرفته و جنگ آزموده هستند. شمشیر هر یک به‌سبب خوف شب بر رانش بسته است.

All of them are girded with the sword, are expert in war; every one hath his sword upon his thigh, because of the terror in the nights.

۹ 9 سلیمان پادشاه تخت روانی برای خویشتن از چوب لبنان ساخت.

A palanquin did king Solomon make for himself out of the wood of Lebanon.

۱۰ 10 ستونهایش را از نقره و سقفش را از طلا وکرسی‌اش را از ارغوان ساخت، و وسطش به محبت دختران اورشلیم معرق بود.

The pillars thereof he made of silver, its coverlid of gold, its seat of purple: its inner part is arranged lovely, by the daughters of Jerusalem.

۱۱ 11 ‌ای دختران صهیون، بیرون آیید و سلیمان پادشاه راببینید، با تاجی که مادرش در روز عروسی وی ودر روز شادی دلش آن را بر سر وی نهاد.

Go forth, and look, O ye daughters of Zion, on king Solomon, with the crown wherewith his mother hath crowned him on the day of his espousals, and on the day of the joy in his heart.
