رومیان 13

۱ 1 هر شخص مطیع قدرتهای برتر بشود، زیرا که قدرتی جز از خدا نیست و آنهایی که هست از جانب خدا مرتب شده است.

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

۲ 2 حتی هر‌که با قدرت مقاومت نماید، مقاومت باترتیب خدا نموده باشد و هر‌که مقاومت کند، حکم بر خود آورد.

Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgement.

۳ 3 زیرا از حکام عمل نیکو راخوفی نیست بلکه عمل بد را. پس اگر می‌خواهی که از آن قدرت ترسان نشوی، نیکویی کن که از اوتحسین خواهی یافت.

For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,

۴ 4 زیرا خادم خداست برای تو به نیکویی؛ لکن هرگاه بدی کنی، بترس چونکه شمشیر را عبث برنمی دارد، زیرا او خادم خداست و با غضب انتقام از بدکاران می‌کشد.

for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

۵ 5 لهذا لازم است که مطیع او شوی نه به‌سبب غضب فقط بلکه به‌سبب ضمیر خود نیز.

Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

۶ 6 زیرا که به این سبب باج نیز می‌دهید، چونکه خدام خدا ومواظب در همین امر هستند.

For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.

۷ 7 پس حق هرکس رابه او ادا کنید: باج را به مستحق باج و جزیه را به مستحق جزیه و ترس را به مستحق ترس و عزت را به مستحق عزت.

Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honour, then honour.

۸ 8 مدیون احدی به چیزی مشوید جز به محبت نمودن با یکدیگر، زیرا کسی‌که دیگری رامحبت نماید شریعت را به‌جا آورده باشد.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law.

۹ 9 زیراکه زنا مکن، قتل مکن، دزدی مکن، شهادت دروغ مده، طمع مورز و هر حکمی دیگر که هست، همه شامل است در این کلام که همسایه خود راچون خود محبت نما.

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”

۱۰ 10 محبت به همسایه خودبدی نمی کند پس محبت تکمیل شریعت است.

Love doesn’t harm a neighbour. Love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.

۱۱ 11 و خصوص چون وقت را می‌دانید که الحال ساعت رسیده است که ما را باید از خواب بیدارشویم زیرا که الان نجات ما نزدیک تر است از آن وقتی که ایمان آوردیم.

Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.

۱۲ 12 شب منقضی شد و روز نزدیک آمد. پس اعمال تاریکی را بیرون کرده، اسلحه نور را بپوشیم.

The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armour of light.

۱۳ 13 و با شایستگی رفتار کنیم چنانکه در روز، نه در بزمها و سکرها وفسق و فجور و نزاع و حسد؛

Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.

۱۴ 14 بلکه عیسی مسیح خداوند را بپوشید و برای شهوات جسمانی تدارک نبینید.

But put on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
