| دعای موسی مرد خدا ای خداوند مسکن ما تو بوده‌ای، درجمیع نسل‌ها، | ۱ 1 |
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
| قبل از آنکه کوهها به وجود آید و زمین ربع مسکون را بیافرینی. از ازل تا به ابد تو خدا هستی. | ۲ 2 |
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.
| انسان را به غباربرمی گردانی، و می‌گویی‌ای بنی آدم رجوع نمایید. | ۳ 3 |
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
| زیرا که هزار سال در نظر تو مثل دیروزاست که گذشته باشد و مثل پاسی از شب. | ۴ 4 |
For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
| مثل سیلاب ایشان را رفته‌ای و مثل خواب شده‌اند. بامدادان مثل گیاهی که می‌روید. | ۵ 5 |
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning [they are] like grass [which] groweth up.
| بامدادان می‌شکفد و می‌روید. شامگاهان بریده و پژمرده می‌شود. | ۶ 6 |
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
| زیرا که در غضب تو کاهیده می‌شویم ودر خشم تو پریشان می‌گردیم. | ۷ 7 |
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
| چونکه گناهان مارا در نظر خود گذارده‌ای و خفایای ما را در نورروی خویش. | ۸ 8 |
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.
| زیرا که تمام روزهای ما در خشم تو سپری شد و سالهای خود را مثل خیالی بسر برده‌ایم. | ۹ 9 |
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale [that is told].
| ایام عمر ما هفتاد سال است و اگر ازبنیه، هشتاد سال باشد. لیکن فخر آنها محنت وبطالت است زیرا به زودی تمام شده، پروازمی کنیم. | ۱۰ 10 |
The days of our years [are] threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength [they be] fourscore years, yet [is] their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
| کیست که شدت خشم تو را می‌داند وغضب تو را چنانکه از تو می‌باید ترسید. | ۱۱ 11 |
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, [so is] thy wrath.
| ما را تعلیم ده تا ایام خود را بشماریم تا دل خردمندی را حاصل نماییم. | ۱۲ 12 |
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.
| رجوع کن‌ای خداوند تا به کی و بر بندگان خود شفقت فرما. | ۱۳ 13 |
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
| صبحگاهان ما را از رحمت خود سیر کن تاتمامی عمر خود ترنم و شادی نماییم. | ۱۴ 14 |
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
| ما راشادمان گردان به عوض ایامی که ما را مبتلاساختی و سالهایی که بدی را دیده‌ایم. | ۱۵ 15 |
Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, [and] the years [wherein] we have seen evil.
| اعمال تو بر بندگانت ظاهر بشود و کبریایی تو بر فرزندان ایشان. | ۱۶ 16 |
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
| جمال خداوند خدای ما بر ما باد وعمل دستهای ما را بر ما استوار ساز. عمل دستهای ما را استوار گردان. | ۱۷ 17 |
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
