۱ 1 برای سالار مغنیان برذوات اوتار. مزمور و سرود آساف خدا در یهودا معروف است و نام او دراسرائیل عظیم!

For the end, among the Hymns, a Psalm for Asaph; a Song for the Assyrian. God is known in Judea: his name is great in Israel.

۲ 2 خیمه او است درشالیم و مسکن او در صهیون.

And his place has been in peace, and his dwelling-place in Sion.

۳ 3 در آنجا، برقهای کمان را شکست. سپر و شمشیر و جنگ را، سلاه.

There he broke the power of the bows, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Pause)

۴ 4 تو جلیل هستی و مجید، زیاده از کوههای یغما!

Thou dost wonderfully shine forth from the everlasting mountains.

۵ 5 قوی‌دلان تاراج شده‌اند و خواب ایشان رادرربود و همه مردان زورآور دست خود رانیافتند.

All the simple ones in heart were troubled; all the men of wealth have slept their sleep, and have found nothing in their hands.

۶ 6 از توبیخ تو‌ای خدای یعقوب، بر ارابه هاو اسبان خوابی گران مستولی گردید.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, the riders on horses slumbered.

۷ 7 تو مهیب هستی، تو! و در حین غضبت، کیست که به حضورتو ایستد؟

Thou art terrible; and who shall withstand thee, because of thine anger?

۸ 8 از آسمان داوری را شنوانیدی. پس جهان بترسید و ساکت گردید.

Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

۹ 9 چون خدا برای داوری قیام فرماید تا همه مساکین جهان راخلاصی بخشد، سلاه،

when God arose to judgment, to save all the meek in heart. (Pause)

۱۰ 10 آنگاه خشم انسان تو راحمد خواهد گفت و باقی خشم را بر کمر خودخواهی بست.

For the inward thought of man shall give thanks to thee: and the memorial of his inward thought shall keep a feast to thee.

۱۱ 11 نذر کنید و وفا نمایید برای یهوه خدای خود. همه که گرداگرد او هستند، هدیه بگذرانند نزد او که مهیب است.

Vow, and pay [your vows] to the Lord our God; all that are round about him shall bring gifts, [even] to him that is terrible,

۱۲ 12 روح روسا رامنقطع خواهد ساخت و برای پادشاهان جهان مهیب می‌باشد.

and that takes away the spirits of princes; to him that is terrible among the kings of the earth.
