امثال 18

۱ 1 می باشد، و به هر حکمت صحیح مجادله می‌کند.

Desire he seeks [one who] separates himself on all sound wisdom he bursts out.

۲ 2 احمق از فطانت مسرور نمی شود، مگر تاآنکه عقل خود را ظاهر سازد.

Not he delights a fool in understanding that except in revealing itself heart his.

۳ 3 هنگامی که شریر می‌آید، حقارت هم می‌آید، و با اهانت، خجالت می‌رسد.

When comes a wicked [person] it comes also contempt and with shame reproach.

۴ 4 سخنان دهان انسان آب عمیق است، وچشمه حکمت، نهر جاری است.

[are] waters Deep [the] words of [the] mouth of a person a wadi flowing a fountain of wisdom.

۵ 5 طرفداری شریران برای منحرف ساختن داوری عادلان نیکو نیست.

To lift up [the] face of a wicked [person] not [is] good to turn aside a righteous [person] in judgment.

۶ 6 لبهای احمق به منازعه داخل می‌شود، ودهانش برای ضربها صدا می‌زند.

[the] lips of A fool they go in strife and mouth his for blows it calls.

۷ 7 دهان احمق هلاکت وی است، و لبهایش برای جان خودش دام است.

[the] mouth of A fool [is] ruin of him and lips his [are] [the] snare of life his.

۸ 8 سخنان نمام مثل لقمه های شیرین است، و به عمق شکم فرو می‌رود.

[the] words of A slanderer [are] like delicacies and they they go down [the] chambers of [the] belly.

۹ 9 او نیز که در کار خود اهمال می‌کند برادرهلاک کننده است.

Also [one who] shows himself idle in work his [is] a brother he of a master of destruction.

۱۰ 10 اسم خداوند برج حصین است که مرد عادل در آن می‌دود و ایمن می‌باشد.

[is] a tower of Strength [the] name of Yahweh in it he runs a righteous [person] and he is set on high.

۱۱ 11 توانگری شخص دولتمند شهر محکم اواست، و در تصور وی مثل حصار بلند است.

[the] wealth of A rich [person] [is] [the] town of strength his and like a wall high in own imagination his.

۱۲ 12 پیش از شکستگی، دل انسان متکبرمی گردد، و تواضع مقدمه عزت است.

Before destruction it is haughty [the] heart of a person and [is] before honor humility.

۱۳ 13 هر‌که سخنی را قبل از شنیدنش جواب دهد برای وی حماقت و عار می‌باشد.

[one who] brings back A word before he listens [is] folly it of him and ignominy.

۱۴ 14 روح انسان بیماری او را متحمل می‌شود، اما روح شکسته را کیست که متحمل آن بشود.

[the] spirit of A person it will endure sickness his and a spirit stricken who? will he bear it.

۱۵ 15 دل مرد فهیم معرفت را تحصیل می‌کند، وگوش حکیمان معرفت را می‌طلبد.

A heart discerning it acquires knowledge and [the] ear of wise [people] it seeks knowledge.

۱۶ 16 هدیه شخص، از برایش وسعت پیدامی کند و او را به حضور بزرگان می‌رساند.

[the] gift of A person it makes space for him and before great [people] it leads him.

۱۷ 17 هر‌که در دعوی خود اول آید صادق می‌نماید، اما حریفش می‌آید و او را می‌آزماید.

[is] righteous The first in case his (and he will come *QK) neighbor his and he will examine him.

۱۸ 18 قرعه نزاعها را ساکت می‌نماید و زورآوران را از هم جدا می‌کند.

Contentions it puts an end to the lot and between mighty [people] it separates.

۱۹ 19 برادر رنجیده از شهر قوی سختتر است، ومنازعت با او مثل پشت بندهای قصر است.

A brother transgressed [is] more than a town of strength (and contentions *QK) [are] like [the] bar of a fortress.

۲۰ 20 دل آدمی از میوه دهانش پر می‌شود و ازمحصول لبهایش، سیر می‌گردد.

From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person it is satisfied belly his [the] produce of lips his he is satisfied.

۲۱ 21 موت و حیات در قدرت زبان است، و آنانی که آن را دوست می‌دارند میوه‌اش را خواهندخورد.

Death and life [are] in [the] hand of [the] tongue and [those who] love it he will eat fruit its.

۲۲ 22 هر‌که زوجه‌ای یابد چیز نیکو یافته است، ورضامندی خداوند را تحصیل کرده است.

He finds a wife he finds a good thing and he obtained pleasure from Yahweh.

۲۳ 23 مرد فقیر به تضرع تکلم می‌کند، اما شخص دولتمند به سختی جواب می‌دهد.

Supplications he speaks a poor [person] and a rich [person] he answers strong [words].

۲۴ 24 کسی‌که دوستان بسیار دارد خویشتن راهلاک می‌کند، اما دوستی هست که از برادرچسبنده تر می‌باشد.

A person of companions [is] to be broken and there [is one who] loves cleaving more than a brother.
