۱ 1 بنابراین اگر نصیحتی در مسیح، یا تسلی محبت، یا شراکت در روح، یا شفقت ورحمت هست،

If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,

۲ 2 پس خوشی مرا کامل گردانید تابا هم یک فکر کنید و همان محبت نموده، یک دل بشوید و یک فکر داشته باشید.

make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

۳ 3 و هیچ‌چیز را ازراه تعصب و عجب مکنید، بلکه با فروتنی دیگران را از خود بهتر بدانید.

doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;

۴ 4 و هریک از شما ملاحظه کارهای خود را نکند، بلکه هرکدام کارهای دیگران را نیز.

each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

۵ 5 پس همین فکر در شما باشد که در مسیح عیسی نیز بود

Have this in your attitude, which was also in Christ Jesus,

۶ 6 که چون در صورت خدا بود، باخدا برابر بودن را غنیمت نشمرد،

who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,

۷ 7 لیکن خود راخالی کرده، صورت غلام را پذیرفت و درشباهت مردمان شد؛

but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.

۸ 8 و چون در شکل انسان یافت شد، خویشتن را فروتن ساخت و تا به موت بلکه تا به موت صلیب مطیع گردید.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.

۹ 9 از این جهت خدا نیز او را بغایت سرافراز نمود و نامی را که فوق از جمیع نامها است، بدو بخشید.

Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;

۱۰ 10 تا به نام عیسی هر زانویی از آنچه در آسمان و بر زمین وزیر زمین است خم شود،

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,

۱۱ 11 و هر زبانی اقرار کندکه عیسی مسیح، خداوند است برای تمجیدخدای پدر.

and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

۱۲ 12 پس‌ای عزیزان من چنانکه همیشه مطیع می‌بودید، نه در حضور من فقط بلکه بسیار زیادترالان وقتی که غایبم، نجات خود را به ترس و لرزبعمل آورید.

So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with awe and reverence.

۱۳ 13 زیرا خداست که در شمابرحسب رضامندی خود، هم اراده و هم فعل رابعمل ایجاد می‌کند.

For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

۱۴ 14 و هرکاری را بدون همهمه و مجادله بکنید،

Do everything without complaining or arguing,

۱۵ 15 تا بی‌عیب و ساده دل و فرزندان خدا بی‌ملامت باشید، در میان قومی کج رو و گردنکش که در آن میان چون نیرها درجهان می‌درخشید،

that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,

۱۶ 16 و کلام حیات رابرمی افرازید، بجهت فخر من در روز مسیح تاآنکه عبث ندویده و عبث زحمت نکشیده باشم.

holding up the word of life; that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.

۱۷ 17 بلکه هرگاه بر قربانی و خدمت ایمان شماریخته شوم، شادمان هستم و با همه شما شادی می‌کنم.

Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.

۱۸ 18 و همچنین شما نیز شادمان هستید و بامن شادی می‌کنید.

In the same way, you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.

۱۹ 19 و در عیسی خداوند امیدوارم که تیموتاوس را به زودی نزد شما بفرستم تامن نیز ازاحوال شما مطلع شده، تازه روح گردم.

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.

۲۰ 20 زیراکسی دیگر را همدل ندارم که به اخلاص درباره شما اندیشد.

For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.

۲۱ 21 زانرو که همه نفع خود رامی طلبند، نه امور عیسی مسیح را.

For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

۲۲ 22 اما دلیل اورا می‌دانید، زیرا چنانکه فرزند پدر را خدمت می‌کند، او با من برای انجیل خدمت کرده است.

But you know the proof of him, that, as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.

۲۳ 23 پس امیدوارم که چون دیدم کار من چطورمی شود، او را بی‌درنگ بفرستم.

Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.

۲۴ 24 اما در خداونداعتماد دارم که خود هم به زودی بیایم.

But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.

۲۵ 25 ولی لازم دانستم که اپفردتس را به سوی شما روانه نمایم که مرا برادر و همکار و همجنگ می‌باشد، اما شما را رسول و خادم حاجت من.

But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need;

۲۶ 26 زیرا که مشتاق همه شما بود و غمگین شد ازاینکه شنیده بودید که او بیمار شده بود.

since he longed for you all, and was very troubled, because you had heard that he was sick.

۲۷ 27 وفی الواقع بیمار و مشرف بر موت بود، لیکن خدا بروی ترحم فرمود و نه بر او فقط بلکه بر من نیز تامرا غمی بر غم نباشد.

For indeed he was sick, nearly to death, but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.

۲۸ 28 پس به سعی بیشتر او راروانه نمودم تا از دیدنش باز شاد شوید و حزن من کمتر شود.

I have sent him all the more eagerly, therefore, so that when you see him again you may rejoice, and that I may be less anxious.

۲۹ 29 پس او را در خداوند با کمال خوشی بپذیرید و چنین کسان را محترم بدارید،

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such in honor,

۳۰ 30 زیرا در کار مسیح مشرف بر موت شد و جان خود را به خطر انداخت تا نقص خدمت شما را برای من به‌کمال رساند.

because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
