اعداد 27

۱ 1 و دختران صلفحاد بن حافر بن جلعادبن ماکیر بن منسی، که از قبایل منسی ابن یوسف بود نزدیک آمدند، و اینهاست نامهای دخترانش: محله و نوعه و حجله و ملکه و ترصه.

Then there approached the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, who was the son of Joseph: and their names are Mahlah, and Noa, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

۲ 2 و به حضور موسی و العازار کاهن، و به حضورسروران و تمامی جماعت نزد در خیمه اجتماع ایستاده، گفتند:

And they stood before Moses and Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people, at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant, and they said:

۳ 3 «پدر ما در بیابان مرد و او از آن گروه نبود که در جمعیت قورح به ضد خداوندهمداستان شدند، بلکه در گناه خود مرد و پسری نداشت.

“Our father died in the desert, and was not with the sedition, which was stirred up against the Lord under Korah, but he died in his own sin; he had no male sons. Why is his name taken away from his family, because he had no son? Give us a possession among the kinsmen of our father.”

۴ 4 پس چرا نام پدر ما از این جهت که پسری ندارد از میان قبیله‌اش محو شود، لهذا ما رادر میان برادران پدر ما نصیبی بده.»

And Moses referred their case to the judgment of the Lord.

۵ 5 پس موسی دعوی ایشان را به حضورخداوند آورد.

And the Lord said to him:

۶ 6 و خداوند موسی را خطاب کرده، گفت:

“The daughters of Zelophehad are asking for something just. So give them a possession among the kinsmen of their father, and let them succeed him in his inheritance.

۷ 7 «دختران صلفحاد راست می‌گویند، البته در میان برادران پدر ایشان ملک موروثی به ایشان بده، و نصیب پدر ایشان را به ایشان انتقال نما.

And to the sons of Israel, you shall speak these things:

۸ 8 و بنی‌اسرائیل را خطاب کرده، بگو: اگر کسی بمیرد و پسری نداشته باشد، ملک او را به دخترش انتقال نمایید.

When a man dies without a son, his inheritance shall be transferred to his daughter.

۹ 9 و اگر او رادختری نباشد، ملک او را به برادرانش بدهید.

If he has no daughter, his brothers shall succeed him.

۱۰ 10 واگر او را برادری نباشد، ملک او را به برادران پدرش بدهید.

But if there were also no brothers, you shall give the inheritance to the brothers of his father.

۱۱ 11 و اگر پدر او را برادری نباشد، ملک او را به هر کس از قبیله‌اش که خویش نزدیکتر او باشد بدهید، تا مالک آن بشود، پس این برای بنی‌اسرائیل فریضه شرعی باشد، چنانکه خداوند به موسی‌امر فرموده بود.»

But if he has no paternal uncles, the inheritance shall be given to those who are closest to him. And this shall be, for the sons of Israel, consecrated as a perpetual law, just as the Lord has instructed Moses.”

۱۲ 12 و خداوند به موسی گفت: «به این کوه عباریم برآی و زمینی را که به بنی‌اسرائیل داده‌ام، ببین.

The Lord also said to Moses: “Ascend onto this mountain, Abarim, and contemplate from there the land, which I will give to the sons of Israel.

۱۳ 13 و چون آن را دیدی تو نیز به قوم خودملحق خواهی شد، چنانکه برادرت هارون ملحق شد.

And when you have seen it, you shall then go to your people, just as your brother Aaron went.

۱۴ 14 زیرا که در بیابان صین وقتی که جماعت مخامصه نمودند شما از قول من عصیان ورزیدید، و مرا نزد آب در نظر ایشان تقدیس ننمودید.» این است آب مریبه قادش، در بیابان صین.

For you offended me in the desert of Sin at the Contradiction of the multitude; neither were you willing to sanctify me in their sight over the waters. These are the Waters of Contradiction at Kadesh in the desert of Sin.”

۱۵ 15 و موسی به خداوند عرض کرده، گفت:

Moses answered him:

۱۶ 16 «ملتمس اینکه یهوه خدای ارواح تمامی بشر، کسی را بر این جماعت بگمارد

“May the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, provide a man, who may be over this multitude,

۱۷ 17 که پیش روی ایشان بیرون رود، و پیش روی ایشان داخل شود، و ایشان را بیرون برد و ایشان را درآورد، تاجماعت خداوند مثل گوسفندان بی‌شبان نباشند.»

and who may be able to exit and enter before them, and who may lead them out or lead them in: lest the people of the Lord be like sheep without a shepherd.”

۱۸ 18 و خداوند به موسی گفت: «یوشع بن نون را که مردی صاحب روح است گرفته، دست خود را بر او بگذار.

And the Lord said to him: “Take Joshua, the son of Nun, a man in whom the Spirit is, and place your hand upon him.

۱۹ 19 و او را به حضورالعازار کاهن و به حضور تمامی جماعت برپاداشته، در نظر ایشان به وی وصیت نما.

And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire multitude.

۲۰ 20 و ازعزت خود بر او بگذار تا تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل او را اطاعت نمایند.

And you shall give him the precepts in the sight of all, and a portion of your glory, so that the entire congregation of the sons of Israel may listen to him.

۲۱ 21 و او به حضور العازار کاهن بایستد تا از برای او به حکم اوریم به حضور خداوند سوال نماید، و به فرمان وی، او و تمامی بنی‌اسرائیل با وی و تمامی جماعت، بیرون روند، و به فرمان وی داخل شوند.»

On his behalf, if anything is to be done, Eleazar the priest shall consult the Lord. He, and all the sons of Israel with him, and the rest of the multitude, shall go out and enter in at his word.”

۲۲ 22 پس موسی به نوعی که خداوند او راامر فرموده بود عمل نموده، یوشع را گرفت و اورا به حضور العازار کاهن و به حضور تمامی جماعت برپا داشت.

Moses did just as the Lord had instructed. And when he had brought Joshua, he set him before Eleazar the priest, and before the entire gathering of the people.

۲۳ 23 و دستهای خود را بر اوگذاشته، او را به طوری که خداوند به واسطه موسی گفته بود، وصیت نمود.

And imposing his hands upon his head, he repeated all that the Lord had commanded.
