متّی 11

۱ 1 و چون عیسی این وصیت را با دوازده شاگرد خود به اتمام رسانید، از آنجا روانه شد تا در شهرهای ایشان تعلیم دهد و موعظه نماید.

When Yeshua had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and proclaim in their cities.

۲ 2 و چون یحیی در زندان، اعمال مسیح راشنید، دو نفر از شاگردان خود را فرستاده،

Now when Yochanan heard in the prison the works of Messiah, he sent two of his disciples

۳ 3 بدو گفت: «آیا آن آینده تویی یا منتظر دیگری باشیم؟»

and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”

۴ 4 عیسی در جواب ایشان گفت: «بروید ویحیی را از آنچه شنیده و دیده‌اید، اطلاع دهید

Yeshua answered them, “Go and tell Yochanan the things which you hear and see:

۵ 5 که کوران بینا می‌گردند و لنگان به رفتار می‌آیندو ابرصان طاهر و کران شنوا و مردگان زنده می‌شوند و فقیران بشارت می‌شنوند؛

the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

۶ 6 وخوشابحال کسی‌که در من نلغزد.»

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

۷ 7 و چون ایشان می‌رفتند، عیسی با آن جماعت درباره یحیی آغاز سخن کرد که «بجهت دیدن چه چیز بیرون شدید؟ آیا نی را که از باد درجنبش است؟

As these went their way, Yeshua began to say to the multitudes concerning Yochanan, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

۸ 8 بلکه بجهت دیدن چه چیز بیرون شدید؟ آیا مردی را که لباس فاخر در بر دارد؟ اینک آنانی که رخت فاخر می‌پوشند در خانه های پادشاهان می‌باشند.

But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

۹ 9 لیکن بجهت دیدن چه چیزبیرون رفتید؟ آیا نبی را؟ بلی به شما می‌گویم ازنبی افضلی را!

But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

۱۰ 10 زیرا همان است آنکه درباره اومکتوب است: “اینک من رسول خود را پیش روی تو می‌فرستم تا راه تو را پیش روی تو مهیا سازد.”

For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

۱۱ 11 هرآینه به شما می‌گویم که از اولاد زنان، بزرگتری از یحیی تعمید‌دهنده برنخاست، لیکن کوچکتر در ملکوت آسمان از وی بزرگ تر است.

Most certainly I tell you, amongst those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than Yochanan the Immerser; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

۱۲ 12 و از ایام یحیی تعمید‌دهنده تا الان، ملکوت آسمان محبور می‌شود و جباران آن را به زورمی ربایند.

From the days of Yochanan the Immerser until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

۱۳ 13 زیرا جمیع انبیا و تورات تا یحیی اخبار می‌نمودند.

For all the Prophets and the Torah prophesied until Yochanan.

۱۴ 14 و اگر خواهید قبول کنید، همان است الیاس که باید بیاید.

If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

۱۵ 15 هر‌که گوش شنوا دارد بشنود.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

۱۶ 16 لیکن این طایفه را به چه چیزتشبیه نمایم؟ اطفالی را مانند که در کوچه هانشسته، رفیقان خویش را صدا زده،

“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions

۱۷ 17 می‌گویند: “برای شما نی نواختیم، رقص نکردید؛ نوحه گری کردیم، سینه نزدید.”

and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

۱۸ 18 زیرا که یحیی آمد، نه می‌خورد و نه می‌آشامید، می‌گویند دیو دارد.

For Yochanan came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

۱۹ 19 پسر انسان آمد که می‌خورد و می‌نوشد، می‌گویند اینک مردی پرخور و میگسار و دوست باجگیران و گناهکاران است. لیکن حکمت ازفرزندان خود تصدیق کرده شده است.”» وعده آرامش درون

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

۲۰ 20 آنگاه شروع به ملامت نمود بر آن شهرهایی که اکثر از معجزات وی در آنها ظاهرشد زیرا که توبه نکرده بودند:

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

۲۱ 21 «وای بر تو‌ای خورزین! وای بر تو‌ای بیت صیدا! زیرا اگرمعجزاتی که در شما ظاهر گشت، در صور وصیدون ظاهر می‌شد، هرآینه مدتی در پلاس وخاکستر توبه می‌نمودند.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

۲۲ 22 لیکن به شما می‌گویم که در روز جزا حالت صور و صیدون از شماسهلتر خواهد بود.

But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgement than for you.

۲۳ 23 و تو‌ای کفرناحوم که تا به فلک سرافراشته‌ای، به جهنم سرنگون خواهی شد زیرا هرگاه معجزاتی که در تو پدید آمد درسدوم ظاهر می‌شد، هرآینه تا امروز باقی می‌ماند. (Hadēs g86)

You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Sheol. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today. (Hadēs g86)

۲۴ 24 لیکن به شما می‌گویم که در روز جزاحالت زمین سدوم از تو سهل تر خواهد بود.»

But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgement, than for you.”

۲۵ 25 در آن وقت، عیسی توجه نموده، گفت: «ای پدر، مالک آسمان و زمین، تو را ستایش می‌کنم که این امور را از دانایان و خردمندان پنهان داشتی و به کودکان مکشوف فرمودی!

At that time, Yeshua answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

۲۶ 26 بلی‌ای پدر، زیرا که همچنین منظور نظر تو بود.

Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.

۲۷ 27 پدر همه‌چیز را به من سپرده است و کسی پسر را نمی شناسد بجز پدر و نه پدر را هیچ‌کس می‌شناسد غیر از پسر و کسی‌که پسر بخواهد بدومکشوف سازد.

All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

۲۸ 28 بیاید نزد من‌ای تمام زحمتکشان و گرانباران و من شما را آرامی خواهم بخشید.

“Come to me, all you who labour and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

۲۹ 29 یوغ مرا بر خود گیرید و از من تعلیم یابید زیرا که حلیم و افتاده‌دل می‌باشم و درنفوس خود آرامی خواهید یافت؛

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

۳۰ 30 زیرا یوغ من خفیف است و بار من سبک.»

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
