لوقا 18

۱ 1 و برای ایشان نیز مثلی آورد در اینکه می باید همیشه دعا کرد و کاهلی نورزید.

And he spoke a parable to them [to this end], that men ought always [to] pray, and not to faint;

۲ 2 پس گفت که «در شهری داوری بود که نه ترس از خدا و نه باکی از انسان می‌داشت.

Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man.

۳ 3 ودر همان شهر بیوه‌زنی بود که پیش وی آمده می‌گفت، داد مرا از دشمنم بگیر.

And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary.

۴ 4 و تا مدتی به وی اعتناننمود ولکن بعد از آن با خود گفت هرچند از خدا نمی ترسم و از مردم باکی ندارم،

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

۵ 5 لیکن چون این بیوه‌زن مرا زحمت می‌دهد، به داد او می‌رسم، مبادا پیوسته آمده مرا به رنج آورد.

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

۶ 6 خداوند گفت بشنوید که این داوربی انصاف چه می‌گوید؟

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

۷ 7 و آیا خدا برگزیدگان خود را که شبانه‌روز بدو استغاثه می‌کنند، دادرسی نخواهد کرد، اگرچه برای ایشان دیرغضب باشد؟

And will not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night to him, though he beareth long with them?

۸ 8 به شما می‌گویم که به زودی دادرسی ایشان را خواهد کرد. لیکن چون پسرانسان آید، آیا ایمان را بر زمین خواهدیافت؟

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth?

۹ 9 و این مثل را آورد برای بعضی که بر خوداعتماد می‌داشتند که عادل بودند و دیگران راحقیر می‌شمردند.

And he spoke this parable to certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

۱۰ 10 که «دو نفر یکی فریسی ودیگری باجگیر به هیکل رفتند تا عبادت کنند.

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

۱۱ 11 آن فریسی ایستاده بدینطور با خود دعا کرد که خدایا تو را شکر می‌کنم که مثل سایر مردم حریص و ظالم و زناکار نیستم و نه مثل این باجگیر،

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

۱۲ 12 هر هفته دو مرتبه روزه می‌دارم و ازآنچه پیدا می‌کنم ده‌یک می‌دهم.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

۱۳ 13 اما آن باجگیر دور ایستاده نخواست چشمان خود را به سوی آسمان بلند کند بلکه به سینه خود زده گفت، خدایا بر من گناهکار ترحم فرما.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

۱۴ 14 به شمامی گویم که این شخص، عادل کرده شده به خانه خود رفت به خلاف آن دیگر، زیرا هر‌که خود رابرافرازد، پست گردد و هرکس خویشتن را فروتن سازد، سرافرازی یابد.»

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

۱۵ 15 پس اطفال را نیز نزد وی آوردند تا دست برایشان گذارد. اما شاگردانش چون دیدند، ایشان رانهیب دادند.

And they brought to him also infants, that he would touch them: but when [his] disciples saw [it], they rebuked them.

۱۶ 16 ولی عیسی ایشان را خوانده، گفت: «بچه‌ها را واگذارید تا نزد من آیند و ایشان را ممانعت مکنید، زیرا ملکوت خدا برای مثل اینها است.

But Jesus called them [to him], and said, Suffer little children to come to me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

۱۷ 17 هرآینه به شما می‌گویم هر‌که ملکوت خدا را مثل طفل نپذیرد داخل آن نگردد.»

Verily I say to you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter into it.

۱۸ 18 و یکی از روسا از وی سوال نموده، گفت: «ای استاد نیکو چه کنم تا حیات جاودانی راوارث گردم؟» (aiōnios g166)

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)

۱۹ 19 عیسی وی را گفت: «از بهر‌چه مرا نیکو می‌گویی و حال آنکه هیچ‌کس نیکونیست جز یکی که خدا باشد.

And Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is] God.

۲۰ 20 احکام رامی دانی زنا مکن، قتل مکن، دزدی منما، شهادت دروغ مده و پدر و مادر خود را محترم دار.»

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother.

۲۱ 21 گفت: «جمیع اینها را از طفولیت خود نگاه داشته‌ام.»

And he said, All these have I kept from my youth.

۲۲ 22 عیسی چون این را شنید بدو گفت: «هنوز تو را یک چیز باقی است. آنچه داری بفروش و به فقرا بده که در آسمان گنجی خواهی داشت، پس آمده مرا متابعت کن.»

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said to him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

۲۳ 23 چون این راشنید محزون گشت، زیرا که دولت فراوان داشت.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

۲۴ 24 اما عیسی چون او را محزون دید گفت: «چه دشوار است که دولتمندان داخل ملکوت خداشوند.

And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly will they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

۲۵ 25 زیرا گذشتن شتر از سوراخ سوزن آسانتر است از دخول دولتمندی در ملکوت خدا.»

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

۲۶ 26 اما شنوندگان گفتند: «پس که می‌تواندنجات یابد؟»

And they that heard [it], said, Who then can be saved?

۲۷ 27 او گفت: «آنچه نزد مردم محال است، نزد خدا ممکن است.»

Then he said, The things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.

۲۸ 28 پطرس گفت: «اینک ما همه‌چیز را ترک کرده پیروی تو می‌کنیم.»

Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

۲۹ 29 به ایشان گفت: «هرآینه به شما می‌گویم، کسی نیست که خانه یاوالدین یا زن یا برادران یا اولاد را بجهت ملکوت خدا ترک کند،

And he said to them, Verily I say to you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the sake of the kingdom of God,

۳۰ 30 جز اینکه در این عالم چند برابربیابد و در عالم آینده حیات جاودانی را.» (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)

Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)

۳۱ 31 پس آن دوازده را برداشته، به ایشان گفت: «اینک به اورشلیم می‌رویم و آنچه به زبان انبیادرباره پسر انسان نوشته شده است، به انجام خواهد رسید.

Then he took the twelve, and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

۳۲ 32 زیرا که او را به امت‌ها تسلیم می‌کنند و استهزا و بی‌حرمتی کرده آب دهان بروی انداخته

For he will be delivered to the Gentiles, and will be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spitted on;

۳۳ 33 و تازیانه زده او را خواهند کشت ودر روز سوم خواهد برخاست.»

And they will scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he will rise again.

۳۴ 34 اما ایشان چیزی از این امور نفهمیدند و این سخن از ایشان مخفی داشته شد و آنچه می‌گفت، درک نکردند.

And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

۳۵ 35 و چون نزدیک اریحا رسید، کوری بجهت گدایی بر سر راه نشسته بود.

And it came to pass, that as he had come nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging;

۳۶ 36 و چون صدای گروهی را که می‌گذشتند شنید، پرسید چه چیزاست؟

And hearing the multitude passing by, he asked what it meant.

۳۷ 37 گفتندش عیسی ناصری در گذر است.

And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

۳۸ 38 در حال فریاد برآورده گفت: «ای عیسی، ای پسر داود، بر من ترحم فرما.»

And he cried, saying, Jesus, [thou] son of David, have mercy on me.

۳۹ 39 و هرچند آنانی که پیش می‌رفتند او را نهیب می‌دادند تا خاموش شود، او بلندتر فریاد می‌زد که پسر داودا بر من ترحم فرما.

And they who went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, [Thou] son of David, have mercy on me.

۴۰ 40 آنگاه عیسی ایستاده فرمود تا او رانزد وی بیاورند. و چون نزدیک شد از وی پرسیده،

And Jesus stood and commanded him to be brought to him: and when he had come near, he asked him,

۴۱ 41 گفت: «چه می‌خواهی برای توبکنم؟» عرض کرد: «ای خداوند، تا بینا شوم.»

Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

۴۲ 42 عیسی به وی گفت: «بینا شو که ایمانت تو راشفا داده است.»

And Jesus said to him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

۴۳ 43 در ساعت بینایی یافته، خدا راتمجید‌کنان از عقب او افتاد و جمیع مردم چون این را دیدند، خدا را تسبیح خواندند.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw [it], gave praise to God.
