| و یربعل که جدعون باشد با تمامی قوم که باوی بودند صبح زود برخاسته، نزد چشمه حرود اردو زدند، و اردوی مدیان به شمال ایشان نزد کوه موره در وادی بود. | ۱ 1 |
Then Jerubbaal, the same, is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and encamped by the fountain of Harod, —and, the camp of Midian, was on the north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the vale.
| و خداوند به جدعون گفت: «قومی که با توهستند، زیاده از آنند که مدیان را به‌دست ایشان تسلیم نمایم، مبادا اسرائیل بر من فخر نموده، بگویند که دست ما، ما را نجات داد. | ۲ 2 |
And Yahweh said unto Gideon, Too many, are the people that are with thee, for me to deliver the Midianites into their hand, —lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand, hath saved me.
| پس الان به گوش قوم ندا کرده، بگو: هر کس که ترسان وهراسان باشد از کوه جلعاد برگشته، روانه شود.» وبیست و دو هزار نفر از قوم برگشتند و ده هزارباقی ماندند. | ۳ 3 |
Now, therefore, proclaim, I pray thee, in the ears of the people, saying, Whoso feareth and trembleth—let him turn and go back from Mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty-two thousand, and, ten thousand, remained.
| و خداوند به جدعون گفت: «باز هم قوم زیاده‌اند، ایشان را نزد آب بیاور تا ایشان را آنجابرای تو بیازمایم، و هر‌که را به تو گویم این با توبرود، او همراه تو خواهد رفت، و هر‌که را به تو گویم این با تو نرود، او نخواهد رفت.» | ۴ 4 |
Then said Yahweh unto Gideon—Yet, are the people too many, take them down unto the waters, that I may prove them for thee, there, —and it shall be, that, he of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall go with thee, the same, shall go with thee, and, every one of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall not go with thee, the same, shall not go.
| و چون قوم را نزد آب آورده بود، خداوند به جدعون گفت: «هر‌که آب را به زبان خود بنوشد چنانکه سگ می‌نوشد او را تنها بگذار، و همچنین هر‌که بر زانوی خود خم شده، بنوشد.» | ۵ 5 |
So he took down the people unto the waters, —and Yahweh said unto Gideon—Every one that lappeth with his tongue of the water, as a dog lappeth, thou shalt set him by himself, likewise, every one that boweth down upon his knees, to drink.
| و عدد آنانی که دست به دهان آورده، نوشیدند، سیصد نفر بودو جمیع بقیه قوم بر زانوی خود خم شده، آب نوشیدند. | ۶ 6 |
And so it was, that, the number of them that lapped with their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men, —but, all the rest of the people, bowed down on their knees, to drink water.
| و خداوند به جدعون گفت: «به این سیصد نفر که به کف نوشیدند، شما را نجات می‌دهم، و مدیان را به‌دست تو تسلیم خواهم نمود. پس سایر قوم هر کس به‌جای خود بروند.» | ۷ 7 |
Then said Yahweh unto Gideon—By the three hundred men that lapped, will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thy hand; and let, all [the rest of] the people, go every man to his own place.
| پس آن گروه توشه و کرناهای خود را به‌دست گرفتند و هر کس را از سایر مردان اسرائیل به خیمه خود فرستاد، ولی آن سیصد نفر را نگاه داشت. و اردوی مدیان در وادی پایین دست اوبود. | ۸ 8 |
So the people took provisions in their hand, and their horns, but, every man of Israel besides, sent he away every man to his home, whereas, the three hundred men, he retained. Now, the camp of Midian, was beneath him in the vale.
| و در همان شب خداوند وی را گفت: «برخیزو به اردو فرود بیا زیرا که آن را به‌دست تو تسلیم نموده‌ام. | ۹ 9 |
And it came to pass, on that night, that Yahweh said unto him, Arise! go down against the camp, —for I have delivered it into thy hand.
| لیکن اگر از رفتن می‌ترسی، با خادم خود فوره به اردو برو. | ۱۰ 10 |
Or, if, thou, art afraid to go down, go down—thou and Purah thy young man, unto the camp;
| و چون آنچه ایشان بگویند بشنوی، بعد از آن دست تو قوی خواهدشد، و به اردو فرود خواهی آمد.» پس او وخادمش، فوره به کناره سلاح دارانی که در اردوبودند، فرود آمدند. | ۱۱ 11 |
so shalt thou hear what they shall say, —and, afterward, shall thy hands grow strong, and thou shalt go down against the camp. Then went he down, he and Purah his young man, unto the outmost part of the armed men that were in the camp.
| و اهل مدیان و عمالیق وجمیع بنی مشرق مثل ملخ، بی‌شمار در وادی ریخته بودند، و شتران ایشان را مثل ریگ که برکناره دریا بی‌حساب است، شماره‌ای نبود. | ۱۲ 12 |
Now, the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east, were lying along in the vale, like locusts for multitude, —their camels also, were without number, as the sand that is by the sea side, for multitude.
| پس چون جدعون رسید، دید که مردی به رفیقش خوابی بیان کرده، می‌گفت که «اینک خوابی دیدم، و هان گرده‌ای نان جوین در میان اردوی مدیان غلطانیده شده، به خیمه‌ای برخوردو آن را چنان زد که افتاد و آن را واژگون ساخت، چنانکه خیمه بر زمین پهن شد.» | ۱۳ 13 |
And Gideon came in, and lo! a man relating to his neighbour a dream, —and he said—Lo! a dream, have I dreamt, and lo! a round cake of barley bread tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came as far as the tent—and smote it that it fell, and turned it upside down, and the tent lay along.
| رفیقش درجواب وی گفت که «این نیست جز شمشیرجدعون بن یوآش، مرد اسرائیلی، زیرا خدامدیان و تمام اردو را به‌دست او تسلیم کرده است.» | ۱۴ 14 |
Then responded his neighbour and said: —Nothing else, is this, than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel, —God hath delivered into his hand, both Midian and all the host.
| و چون جدعون نقل خواب و تعبیرش راشنید، سجده نمود، و به لشکرگاه اسرائیل برگشته، گفت: «برخیزید زیرا که خداوند اردوی مدیان را به‌دست شما تسلیم کرده است.» | ۱۵ 15 |
And it was so, when Gideon heard the story of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he bowed himself down, —and returned unto the camp of Israel, and said—Arise! for Yahweh hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
| و آن سیصد نفر را به سه فرقه منقسم ساخت، و به‌دست هر یکی از ایشان کرناها و سبوهای خالی داد و مشعلها در سبوها گذاشت. | ۱۶ 16 |
And he divided the three hundred men, into three companies, —and put horns into the hands of them all, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.
| و به ایشان گفت: «بر من نگاه کرده، چنان بکنید. پس چون به کنار اردو برسم، هر‌چه من می‌کنم، شما هم چنان بکنید. | ۱۷ 17 |
Then he said unto them, On me, shall ye look, and, in like manner, shall ye do, —and lo! when I am coming unto the outermost part of the camp, then shall it be, that, as I do, so, shall ye do.
| و چون من و آنانی که با من هستند کرناهارا بنوازیم، شما نیز از همه اطراف اردو کرناها رابنوازید و بگویید (شمشیر) خداوند و جدعون.» | ۱۸ 18 |
When I shall blow with the horn, I and all who are with me, then shall, ye also, round about all the camp, blow with your horns, and shall say, For Yahweh and for Gideon!
| پس جدعون و صد نفر که با وی بودند درابتدای پاس دوم شب به کنار اردو رسیدند و درهمان حین کشیکچی‌ای تازه گذارده بودند، پس کرناها را نواختند و سبوها را که در دست ایشان بود، شکستند. | ۱۹ 19 |
So Gideon came, and the hundred men that were with him, unto the outermost part of the camp, at the beginning of the middle watch, they had but, newly set, the watchers, —and they blew with the horns, and brake in pieces the pitchers, that were in their hand.
| و هر سه فرقه کرناها را نواختندو سبوها را شکستند و مشعلها را به‌دست چپ وکرناها را به‌دست راست خود گرفته، نواختند، وصدا زدند شمشیر خداوند و جدعون. | ۲۰ 20 |
Yea the three companies blew with the horns, and shivered the pitchers, and caught hold—with their left hands—of the torches, while, in their right hands, were the horns, to blow with, —and they cried, A sword for Yahweh, and for Gideon!
| و هرکس به‌جای خود به اطراف اردو ایستادند وتمامی لشکر فرار کردند و ایشان نعره زده، آنها رامنهزم ساختند. | ۲۱ 21 |
And they stood still, every man in his place, round about the camp, —and all the host ran and shouted, and fled.
| و چون آن سیصد نفر کرناها را نواختند، خداوند شمشیر هر کس را بر رفیقش وبر تمامی لشکر گردانید، و لشکر ایشان تابیت شطه به سوی صریرت و تا سر حد آبل محوله که نزد طبات است، فرار کردند. | ۲۲ 22 |
When the three hundred blew the horns, Yahweh set the sword of every man, against his neighbour, and against all the host, —and the host fled, as far as the Place of Acacias, towards Zererath, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath.
| و مردان اسرائیل از نفتالی و اشیر و تمامی منسی جمع شده، مدیان را تعاقب نمودند. | ۲۳ 23 |
And the men of Israel were called together, out of Naphtali and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, —and pursued Midian.
| و جدعون به تمامی کوهستان افرایم، رسولان فرستاده، گفت: «به جهت مقابله با مدیان به زیر آیید و آبها را تا بیت باره و اردن پیش ایشان بگیرید.» پس تمامی مردان افرایم جمع شده، آبهارا تا بیت باره و اردن گرفتند. | ۲۴ 24 |
And, messengers, did Gideon send through all the hill country of Ephraim, saying—Go down to meet Midian, and capture, before them, the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan. So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and captured the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan.
| و غراب و ذئب، دو سردار مدیان را گرفته، غراب را بر صخره غراب و ذئب را در چرخشت ذئب کشتند، ومدیان را تعاقب نمودند، و سرهای غراب و ذئب را به آن طرف اردن، نزد جدعون آوردند. | ۲۵ 25 |
And they captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb at Oreb’s Rock, and, Zeeb, they slew at Zeeb’s Winepress, and pursued Midian, —and, the heads of Oreb and Zeeb, brought they in unto Gideon at the ford of the Jordan.
