یوشع 4

۱ 1 بالکلیه گذشتند، خداوند یوشع را خطاب کرده، گفت:

And when all the people were wholy gone ouer Iorden, (after the Lord had spoken vnto Ioshua, saying,

۲ 2 «دوازده نفر از قوم، یعنی از هر سبطیک نفر را بگیرید.

Take you twelue me out of the people, out of euery tribe a man,

۳ 3 و ایشان را امر فرموده، بگویید: از اینجا از میان اردن از جایی که پایهای کاهنان قایم ایستاده بود، دوازده سنگ بردارید، وآنها را با خود برده، در منزلی که امشب در آن فرود می‌آیید بنهید.»

And command you them, saying, Take you hence out of the middes of Iorden, out of the place where the Priestes stoode in a readinesse, twelue stones, which ye shall take away with you, and leaue them in the lodging where you shall lodge this night)

۴ 4 پس یوشع آن دوازده مردرا که از بنی‌اسرائیل انتخاب کرده بود، یعنی از هرسبط یک نفر طلبید.

Then Ioshua called the twelue men, whome he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of euery tribe a man,

۵ 5 و یوشع به ایشان گفت: «پیش تابوت یهوه، خدای خود به میان اردن بروید، و هر کسی از شما یک سنگ موافق شماره اسباط بنی‌اسرائیل بر دوش خود بردارد.

And Ioshua said vnto them, Go ouer before the Arke of the Lord your God, euen through the middes of Iorden, and take vp euery man of you a stone vpon his shoulder according vnto the nomber of the tribes of the children of Israel,

۶ 6 تا این در میان شما علامتی باشد هنگامی که پسران شمادر زمان آینده پرسیده، گویند که مقصود شما ازاین سنگها چیست؟

That this may bee a signe among you, that whe your children shall aske their fathers in time to come, saying, What meane you by these stones?

۷ 7 آنگاه به ایشان بگویید: که آبهای اردن از حضور تابوت عهد خداوندشکافته شد، یعنی هنگامی که آن از اردن می گذشت، آبهای اردن شکافته شد، پس این سنگها به جهت بنی‌اسرائیل برای یادگاری ابدی خواهد بود.»

Then ye may answere them, That the waters of Iorden were cut off before the Arke of the couenant of the Lord: for when it passed through Iorden, the waters of Iorden were cut off: therefore these stones are a memoriall vnto the children of Israel for euer.

۸ 8 و بنی‌اسرائیل موافق آنچه یوشع امر فرموده بود کردند، و دوازده سنگ از میان اردن به طوری که خداوند به یوشع گفته بود، موافق شماره اسباط بنی‌اسرائیل برداشتند، و آنها را با خود به‌جایی که در آن منزل گرفتند برده، آنها را در آنجانهادند.

Then ye children of Israel did euen so as Ioshua had commanded, and tooke vp twelue stones out of the mids of Iorden as ye Lord had said vnto Ioshua, according to the nomber of the tribes of the children of Israel, and caried them away with them vnto the lodging, and layd them down there.

۹ 9 و یوشع در وسط اردن، در جایی که پایهای کاهنانی که تابوت عهد را برداشته بودند، ایستاده بود، دوازده سنگ نصب کرد و در آنجا تاامروز هست.

And Ioshua set vp twelue stones in the middes of Iorden, in the place where the feete of the Priests, which bare the Arke of the couenant stood, and there haue they continued vnto this day.

۱۰ 10 و کاهنانی که تابوت را برمی داشتند دروسط اردن ایستادند، تا هر‌آنچه خداوند یوشع راامر فرموده بود که به قوم بگوید تمام شد، به حسب آنچه موسی به یوشع امر کرده بود و قوم به تعجیل عبور کردند.

So the Priests, which bare ye Arke, stoode in the middes of Iorden, vntill euery thing was finished that ye Lord had comanded Ioshua to say vnto the people, according to all that Moses charged Ioshua: then the people hasted and went ouer.

۱۱ 11 و بعد از آنکه تمامی قوم بالکل گذشتند، واقع شد که تابوت خداوند وکاهنان به حضور قوم عبور کردند.

When all the people were cleane passed ouer, the Arke of the Lord went ouer also, and the Priests before the people.

۱۲ 12 و بنی روبین و بنی جاد و نصف سبط منسی مسلح شده، پیش روی بنی‌اسرائیل عبور کردند چنانکه موسی به ایشان گفته بود.

And the sonnes of Reuben, and the sonnes of Gad, and halfe the tribe of Manasseh went ouer before the children of Israel armed, as Moses had charged them.

۱۳ 13 قریب به چهل هزار نفر مهیاشده کارزار به حضور خداوند به صحرای اریحابرای جنگ عبور کردند.

Euen fourty thousand prepared for warre, went before the Lord vnto battel, into ye plaine of Iericho.

۱۴ 14 و در آن روز خداوند، یوشع را در نظرتمامی اسرائیل بزرگ ساخت، و از او در تمام ایام عمرش می‌ترسیدند، چنانکه از موسی ترسیده بودند.

That day the Lord magnified Ioshua in the sight of all Israel, and they feared him, as they feared Moses all dayes of his life.

۱۵ 15 و خداوند یوشع را خطاب کرده، گفت:

And the Lord spake vnto Ioshua, saying,

۱۶ 16 «کاهنانی را که تابوت شهادت را برمی دارند، بفرما که از اردن برآیند.»

Commande the Priests that beare ye Arke of the testimonie, to come vp out of Iorden.

۱۷ 17 پس یوشع کاهنان راامر فرموده، گفت: «از اردن برآیید.»

Ioshua therefore commanded the Priests, saying, Come ye vp out of Iorden.

۱۸ 18 و چون کاهنانی که تابوت عهد خداوند را برمی داشتند ازمیان اردن برآمدند و کف پایهای کاهنان برخشکی گذارده شد، آنگاه آب اردن بجای خودبرگشت و مثل پیش بر تمامی کناره هایش جاری شد.

And when the Priests that bare the Arke of the couenant of ye Lord were come vp out of the middes of Iorden, and assoone as the soles of the Priests feete were set on the dry land, the waters of Iorde returned vnto their place, and flowed ouer all the bankes thereof, as they did before.

۱۹ 19 و در روز دهم از ماه اول، قوم از اردن برآمدند و در جلجال به‌جانب شرقی اریحا اردوزدند.

So the people came vp out of Iorden the tenth day of the first moneth, and pitched in Gilgal, in the Eastside of Iericho.

۲۰ 20 و یوشع آن دوازده سنگ را که از اردن گرفته بودند، در جلجال نصب کرد.

Also the twelue stones, which they tooke out of Iorden, did Ioshua pitch in Gilgal.

۲۱ 21 وبنی‌اسرائیل را خطاب کرده، گفت: «چون پسران شما در زمان آینده از پدران خود پرسیده، گویند: که این سنگها چیست؟

And he spake vnto ye childre of Israel, saying, When your children shall aske their fathers in time to come, and say, What meane these stones?

۲۲ 22 آنگاه پسران خود راتعلیم داده، گویید که اسرائیل از این اردن به خشکی عبور کردند.

Then ye shall shew your children, and say, Israel came ouer this Iorden on dry land:

۲۳ 23 زیرا یهوه، خدای شما، آب اردن را از پیش روی شما خشکانید تا شماعبور کردید، چنانکه یهوه خدای شما به بحرقلزم کرد که آن را پیش روی ما خشکانید تا ماعبور کردیم.

For the Lord your God dryed vp ye waters of Iorden before you, vntill ye were gone ouer, as the Lord your God did the red Sea, which hee dryed vp before vs, till we were gone ouer,

۲۴ 24 تا تمامی قومهای زمین دست خداوند را بدانند که آن زورآور است، و از یهوه، خدای شما، همه اوقات بترسند.»

That all the people of the worlde may know that the hand of the Lord is mightie, that ye might feare the Lord your God continually.
