یوشع 17

۱ 1 و قسمت سبط منسی این شد، زیرا که او نخست زاده یوسف بود، و اما ماکیرنخست زاده منسی که پدر جلعاد باشد، چونکه مرد جنگی بود جلعاد و باشان به او رسید.

And the lot came to the tribe of Manasseh (for he was the firstborn of Joseph), to Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, for he was a man of war, and he had Gilead and Bashan.

۲ 2 وبرای پسران دیگر منسی به حسب قبایل ایشان قسمتی شد، یعنی برای پسران ابیعزر، و برای پسران هالک، و برای پسران اسرئیل، و برای پسران شکیم، و برای پسران حافر، و برای پسران شمیداع. اینان اولاد ذکور منسی بن یوسف برحسب قبایل ایشان می‌باشند.

There was also [a portion] for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these are the children of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the males, according to their families.

۳ 3 و اما صلفحاد بن حافر بن جلعاد بن ماکیربن منسی را پسران نبود، بلکه دختران، و اینهاست نامهای دخترانش: محله و نوعه و حجله و ملکه وترصه.

And Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

۴ 4 پس ایشان نزد العازار کاهن و نزد یوشع بن نون و نزد روسا آمده، گفتند که «خداوند موسی را امر فرمود که ملکی در میان برادران ما به مابدهد.» پس برحسب فرمان خداوند، ملکی درمیان برادران پدرشان به ایشان داد.

And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. And he gave them according to the commandment of Jehovah an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

۵ 5 و به منسی سوای زمین جلعاد و باشان که به آن طرف اردن واقع است، ده حصه رسید.

And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which are beyond the Jordan.

۶ 6 زیرا که دختران منسی، ملکی در میان پسرانش یافتند، و پسران دیگر منسی، جلعاد را یافتند.

For the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance among his sons; and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

۷ 7 و حد منسی از اشیر تا مکمته که مقابل شکیم است، بود، و حدش به طرف راست تا ساکنان عین تفوح رسید.

And the territory of Manasseh was from Asher to Micmethath, which is before Shechem, and the border went on the right hand toward the inhabitants of En-Tappuah.

۸ 8 و زمین تفوح از آن منسی بود، اماتفوح که به‌سرحد منسی واقع است از آن بنی افرایم بود.

Manasseh had the land of Tappuah; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.

۹ 9 و حدش به وادی قانه یعنی به طرف جنوب وادی برآمد، و این شهرها از میان شهرهای منسی، ملک افرایم بود، و حد منسی به طرف شمال وادی و انتهایش به دریا بود.

And the border descended to the torrent Kanah, south of the torrent. These cities were Ephraim's among the cities of Manasseh. And the territory of Manasseh was on the north side of the torrent, and ended at the sea.

۱۰ 10 جنوب آن از آن افرایم، و شمال آن از آن منسی و دریا حد او بود، و ایشان به سوی شمال تااشیر و به سوی مشرق تا یساکار رسیدند.

Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea was his border. And they touched upon Asher on the north, and upon Issachar on the east.

۱۱ 11 ومنسی در یساکار و در اشیر بیت‌شان وقصبه هایش، و یبلعام و قصبه هایش، و ساکنان دور و قصبه هایش، و ساکنان عین دور وقصبه هایش، و ساکنان تعناک و قصبه هایش، وساکنان مجدو و قصبه هایش، یعنی سه محال کوهستانی داشت.

And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its dependent villages, and Ibleam and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Dor and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of En-Dor and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its dependent villages, the three hilly regions.

۱۲ 12 لیکن بنی منسی ساکنان آن شهرها را نتوانستند بیرون کنند، و کنعانیان جازم بودند که در آن زمین ساکن باشند.

But the children of Manasseh could not dispossess [the inhabitants of] those cities; and the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

۱۳ 13 و واقع شدکه چون بنی‌اسرائیل قوت یافتند، از کنعانیان جزیه گرفتند، لیکن ایشان را بالکل بیرون نکردند.

And it came to pass when the children of Israel were become strong, that they made the Canaanites tributary; but they did not utterly dispossess them.

۱۴ 14 و بنی یوسف یوشع را خطاب کرده، گفتند: «چرا یک قرعه و یک حصه فقط به من برای ملکیت دادی؟ و حال آنکه من قوم بزرگ هستم، چونکه خداوند تا الان مرا برکت داده است.»

And the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me as inheritance one lot and one portion, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as Jehovah has blessed me hitherto?

۱۵ 15 یوشع به ایشان گفت: «اگر تو قوم بزرگ هستی به جنگل برآی و در آنجا در زمین فرزیان ورفائیان برای خود مکانی صاف کن، چونکه کوهستان افرایم برای تو تنگ است.»

And Joshua said unto them, If thou art a great people, then get thee up to the wood, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if the hill-country of Ephraim is too narrow for thee.

۱۶ 16 بنی یوسف گفتند: «کوهستان برای ما کفایت نمی کند، و جمیع کنعانیان که در زمین وادی ساکنند، ارابه های آهنین دارند، چه آنانی که دربیت‌شان و قصبه هایش، و چه آنانی که در وادی یزرعیل هستند.»

And the children of Joseph said, The hill-country will not be enough for us; and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, those that are of Beth-shean and its dependent villages, and those that are in the valley of Jizreel.

۱۷ 17 پس یوشع به خاندان یوسف یعنی به افرایم و منسی خطاب کرده، گفت: «توقوم بزرگ هستی و قوت بسیار داری، برای تو یک قرعه نخواهد بود.

And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only,

۱۸ 18 بلکه کوهستان نیز از آن توخواهد بود، و اگر‌چه آن جنگل است آن راخواهی برید، و تمامی حدودش مال تو خواهدبود زیرا که کنعانیان را بیرون خواهی کرد، اگر‌چه ارابه های آهنین داشته، و زورآور باشند.»

but the hill-country shall be thine, as it is a wood, thou shalt cut it down, and its outgoings shall be thine; for thou shalt dispossess the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots; for they are powerful.
