ایّوب 8

۱ 1 پس بلدد شوحی در جواب گفت:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

۲ 2 «تا به کی این چیزها را خواهی گفت و سخنان دهانت باد شدید خواهد بود؟

How long wilt thou speak these things? And [how long] shall the words of thy mouth be [like] a mighty wind?

۳ 3 آیا خداوندداوری را منحرف سازد؟ یا قادر مطلق انصاف رامنحرف نماید؟

Doth God pervert justice? Or doth the Almighty pervert righteousness?

۴ 4 چون فرزندان تو به او گناه ورزیدند، ایشان را به‌دست عصیان ایشان تسلیم نمود.

If thy children have sinned against him, And he hath delivered them into the hand of their transgression;

۵ 5 اگر تو به جد و جهد خدا را طلب می‌کردی و نزد قادر مطلق تضرع می‌نمودی،

If thou wouldest seek diligently unto God, And make thy supplication to the Almighty;

۶ 6 اگر پاک و راست می‌بودی، البته برای تو بیدارمی شد، و مسکن عدالت تو را برخوردارمی ساخت.

If thou wert pure and upright: Surely now he would awake for thee, And make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

۷ 7 و اگر‌چه ابتدایت صغیر می‌بود، عاقبت تو بسیار رفیع می‌گردید.

And though thy beginning was small, Yet thy latter end would greatly increase.

۸ 8 زیرا که ازقرنهای پیشین سوال کن، و به آنچه پدران ایشان تفحص کردند توجه نما،

For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And apply thyself to that which their fathers have searched out

۹ 9 چونکه ما دیروزی هستیم و هیچ نمی دانیم، و روزهای ما سایه‌ای برروی زمین است.

(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days upon earth are a shadow);

۱۰ 10 آیا ایشان تو را تعلیم ندهند وبا تو سخن نرانند؟ و از دل خود کلمات بیرون نیارند؟

Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, And utter words out of their heart?

۱۱ 11 آیا نی، بی‌خلاب می‌روید، یا قصب، بی‌آب نمو می‌کند؟

Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the flag grow without water?

۱۲ 12 هنگامی که هنوز سبزاست و بریده نشده، پیش از هر گیاه خشک می‌شود.

Whilst it is yet in its greenness, [and] not cut down, It withereth before any [other] herb.

۱۳ 13 همچنین است راه جمیع فراموش کنندگان خدا. و امید ریاکار ضایع می شود،

So are the paths of all that forget God; And the hope of the godless man shall perish:

۱۴ 14 که امید او منقطع می‌شود، واعتمادش خانه عنکبوت است.

Whose confidence shall break in sunder, And whose trust is a spider’s web.

۱۵ 15 بر خانه خودتکیه می‌کند و نمی ایستد، به آن متمسک می‌شودو لیکن قایم نمی ماند.

He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: He shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure.

۱۶ 16 پیش روی آفتاب، تر وتازه می‌شود و شاخه هایش در باغش پهن می‌گردد.

He is green before the sun, And his shoots go forth over his garden.

۱۷ 17 ریشه هایش بر توده های سنگ درهم بافته می‌شود، و بر سنگلاخ نگاه می‌کند.

His roots are wrapped about the [stone]-heap, He beholdeth the place of stones.

۱۸ 18 اگر ازجای خود کنده شود، او را انکار کرده، می‌گوید: تو را نمی بینم.

If he be destroyed from his place, Then it shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee.

۱۹ 19 اینک خوشی طریقش همین است و دیگران از خاک خواهند رویید.

Behold, this is the joy of his way; And out of the earth shall others spring.

۲۰ 20 هماناخدا مرد کامل را حقیر نمی شمارد، و شریر رادستگیری نمی نماید،

Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, Neither will he uphold the evil-doers.

۲۱ 21 تا دهان تو را از خنده پرکند، و لبهایت را از آواز شادمانی.

He will yet fill thy mouth with laughter, And thy lips with shouting.

۲۲ 22 خصمان توبه خجالت ملبس خواهند شد، و خیمه شریران نابود خواهد گردید.»

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; And the tent of the wicked shall be no more.
