ایّوب 33

۱ 1 «لیکن‌ای ایوب، سخنان مرا استماع نما. و به تمامی کلام من گوش بگیر.

Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.

۲ 2 اینک الان دهان خود را گشودم، و زبانم در کامم متکلم شد.

Behold now, I have opened my mouth; My tongue hath spoken in my mouth.

۳ 3 کلام من موافق راستی قلبم خواهدبود. و لبهایم به معرفت خالص تنطق خواهدنمود.

My words [shall utter] the uprightness of my heart; And that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.

۴ 4 روح خدا مرا آفریده، و نفخه قادرمطلق مرا زنده ساخته است.

The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.

۵ 5 اگر می‌توانی مرا جواب ده، و پیش روی من، کلام را ترتیب داده بایست.

If thou canst, answer thou me; Set [thy words] in order before me, stand forth.

۶ 6 اینک من مثل تو از خدا هستم. و من نیز از گل سرشته شده‌ام.

Behold, I am toward God even as thou art: I also am formed out of the clay.

۷ 7 اینک هیبت من تو را نخواهدترسانید، و وقار من بر تو سنگین نخواهد شد.

Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, Neither shall my pressure be heavy upon thee.

۸ 8 «یقین در گوش من سخن گفتی و آواز کلام تو را شنیدم

Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the voice of [thy] words, [saying],

۹ 9 که گفتی من زکی و بی‌تقصیر هستم. من پاک هستم و در من گناهی نیست.

I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:

۱۰ 10 اینک او علتها برمن می‌جوید. و مرا دشمن خودمی شمارد.

Behold, he findeth occasions against me, He counteth me for his enemy;

۱۱ 11 پایهایم را در کنده می‌گذارد و همه راههایم را مراقبت می‌نماید.

He putteth my feet in the stocks, He marketh all my paths.

۱۲ 12 هان در این امر توصادق نیستی. من تو را جواب می‌دهم، زیرا خدااز انسان بزرگتر است.

Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.

۱۳ 13 چرا با او معارضه می‌نمایی، از این جهت که از همه اعمال خوداطلاع نمی دهد؟

Why dost thou strive against him, For that he giveth not account of any of his matters?

۱۴ 14 زیرا خدا یک دفعه تکلم می‌کند، بلکه دو دفعه و انسان ملاحظه نمی نماید.

For God speaketh once, Yea twice, [though man] regardeth it not.

۱۵ 15 در خواب، در رویای شب، چون خواب سنگین بر انسان مستولی می‌شود، حینی که دربستر خود در خواب می‌باشد.

In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumberings upon the bed;

۱۶ 16 آنگاه گوشهای انسان را می‌گشاید و تادیب ایشان را ختم می‌سازد.

Then he openeth the ears of men, And sealeth their instruction,

۱۷ 17 تا انسان را از اعمالش برگرداند وتکبر را از مردمان بپوشاند.

That he may withdraw man [from his] purpose, And hide pride from man;

۱۸ 18 جان او را از حفره نگاه می‌دارد و حیات او را از هلاکت شمشیر.

He keepeth back his soul from the pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.

۱۹ 19 بادرد در بستر خود سرزنش می‌یابد، و اضطراب دایمی در استخوانهای وی است.

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with continual strife in his bones;

۲۰ 20 پس جان اونان را مکروه می‌دارد و نفس او خوراک لطیف را.

So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.

۲۱ 21 گوشت او چنان فرسوده شد که دیده نمی شودو استخوانهای وی که دیده نمی شد برهنه گردیده است.

His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; And his bones that were not seen stick out.

۲۲ 22 جان او به حفره نزدیک می‌شود و حیات او به هلاک کنندگان.

Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, And his life to the destroyers.

۲۳ 23 «اگر برای وی یکی به منزله هزار فرشته یامتوسطی باشد، تا آنچه را که برای انسان راست است به وی اعلان نماید،

If there be with him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show unto man what is right for him;

۲۴ 24 آنگاه بر او ترحم نموده، خواهد گفت: او را از فرو رفتن به هاویه برهان، من کفاره‌ای پیدا نموده‌ام.

Then [God] is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.

۲۵ 25 گوشت او ازگوشت طفل لطیف تر خواهد شد. و به ایام جوانی خود خواهد برگشت.

His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s; He returneth to the days of his youth.

۲۶ 26 نزد خدا دعا کرده، او رامستجاب خواهد فرمود، و روی او را با شادمانی خواهد دید. و عدالت انسان را به او رد خواهدنمود.

He prayeth unto God, and he is favorable unto him, So that he seeth his face with joy: And he restoreth unto man his righteousness.

۲۷ 27 پس در میان مردمان سرود خوانده، خواهد گفت: گناه کردم و راستی را منحرف ساختم، و مکافات آن به من نرسید.

He singeth before men, and saith, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, And it profited me not:

۲۸ 28 نفس مرا ازفرورفتن به هاویه فدیه داد، و جان من، نور رامشاهده می‌کند.

He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, And my life shall behold the light.

۲۹ 29 اینک همه این چیزها را خدابه عمل می‌آورد، دو دفعه و سه دفعه با انسان.

Lo, all these things doth God work, Twice, [yea] thrice, with a man,

۳۰ 30 تا جان او را از هلاکت برگرداند و او را از نورزندگان، منور سازد.

To bring back his soul from the pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of the living.

۳۱ 31 ‌ای ایوب متوجه شده، مرااستماع نما، و خاموش باش تا من سخن رانم.

Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will speak.

۳۲ 32 اگر سخنی داری به من جواب بده، متکلم شوزیرا می‌خواهم تو را مبری سازم.

If thou hast anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify thee.

۳۳ 33 و اگر نه، تومرا بشنو. خاموش باش تا حکمت را به تو تعلیم دهم.»

If not, hearken thou unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.
